SPOILERS INCLUDED
Fushigi Yuugi is one of the best shows/anime/manga I have ever seen or read in my LIFE! It is so...enticing! The instant romance and connection between leading lady, Miaka, and leading man, Tamahome, is so enthralling I wish that my life was like Miaka's!
When they say it's a mysterious play, they really mean it! I have goose bumps of oy, just writing this! When you have the chance, there is only two box sets (The Suzaku box and the Seiryu box set) Along with some awesome OVA's, you should get them, watch 'em WHAT EVER! Just get your hands on a copy of them and you'll be golden for your life!

Fushigi Yugi
This anime is so funny and yet is able to turn sad on a dime. I loved the story line although the OVAS were odd, the actual series is excellent.

A Series Beyond Perfection
Fushigi Yuugi has everything a good series has. Action, adventure, drama, romance, great characters (with amazing voice actors), a plot you'll find yourself caught up in, and a genius of an anime creator, Yuu Watase. I cannot think of one downside... this series is beyond perfection. You'll find that it gets better and better with each episode. For the anime newbies, I don't reccomend this is the first series you see. Once you see it, you won't be able to find anything better!

Love it!
It may be because I fall in the *typical* shoujo-Anime fan description (teenage girl ^^), but I feel Fushigi Yuugi is very intriguing and I enjoy the series a lot. The story blends action, fantasy, humor, drama, and romance together very nicely and moderately (except maybe the Miaka x Tamahome thing can get a little aggravating at times, but hey, that's love, ne?). The wide range of different personalities allows viewers to make a connection with at least one character from the Anime, which is important to hold their attention. And the plot is filled with exciting twists, sub-stories, love triangles and cute comedy, which I enjoy. I find myself laughing, crying, and on the edge of my seat often, sometimes in a single tape.
Overall, this story is nicely done, and I recommend this Anime to anyone who enjoys these sort of qualities.
