The Perfect Manga Story
I absolutely adore this manga. To me, it's the perfect story. It has life and death, love and loss, death and renewal. The lessons may be cliche, but they're worth repeating. Love your neighbor and your enemy. An eye for the eye makes the whole world blind.

In a country where seeking vengence is commonplace, one man takes a stand against it and instead touches the lives of everyone he meets with his philosophy of meekness and forgiveness of enemies.

The greatest lesson in RuroKen is that no one is too far gone to be redeemed from a bad life. The only time one is beyond redemption is when one throws it away.

I highly recommend this heartwarming manga as an introduction to the anime/manga world for those who are unfamiliar with it. You won't be disappointed.

I love Kenshin
Rrouni Kenshin is a great anime. Kenshin is a great character who has a moral standing that is sourly missed. Some one who is will to die protecting people. And at the same time would never kill is a great thing. The story leaves you wanting to know who things are going to end with each and every episode. I love this anime. it is one of the best I have seen.

I love it - and so will you!
"Hm. I wonder what Rurouni Kenshin is?"

This was a question that would change my life - well, manga-and-anime-wise, anyway. I picked up the first volume of the RuroKen manga rather randomly, but as I read, I got hooked.

There was just so much in there! The redheaded swordsman was never boring, and his friends (and enemies) were just as good. There was cool action, comedy - and maybe, just maybe, a little romance. The plot was beautiful - you could never guess what was coming next, and you knew you could always expect it to be great.

Then came the wondrous news that there was, in fact, an anime of this. So, of course, I watched. It was even better! You got to see the fights in full colour, sing along with the opening song (I know. Bad habit of mine.) and actually hear the famous catchphrase - "Oro?"

If you enjoy an anime that's full of life, has heaps of laughs, fight scenes galore, but will touch your heart as well, Rurouni Kenshin is for you!

The coolness that *is* Rurouni Kenshin
When I first popped in Rurouni Kenshin into the tape deck of my VCR, amid my group of otaku girlfriends...I couldn't ward off that feeling of annoyance. Did I NOT tell my friend that I wanted to watch Slayers instead? I do believe that Rurouni Kenshin...this...SHOUNEN anime...was not on my *to-watch* list. But annoyance gave way to interest...and interest gave way to a deep-rooted obsession as I sat, glued to the screen, at the coolness that is Rurouni Kenshin.

Rurouni Kenshin...what *is* it about this shounen series that has such a broad appeal to everybody? Could it be the captivating redheaded star of the series, in which the title is named after..=)...and his tragic, melancholic past? Or the bloody and climatic fight scenes? Or the part *in* them fight scenes where the protagonists and antagonists gets their shirt.... err...ripped off. =) Or the unique and action-packed storyline¡Kbut I wouldn't want to ruin that for you...hehe. Oh fione¡Kit¡¦s the endearing way Kenshin talks that really hooks me¡Kalrite, I¡¦m shallow okay? I mean¡K.de gozaru¡¦s and oro¡¦s aside, who wouldn¡¦t find that amusing? All in all¡K..Rurouni Kenshin is a seamless blend of all of the above¡Kinto one cool-ass package. Now¡KI really should stop shamelessly promoting this series¡K.just go get your hands on it asap! I¡¦m sure you can find an un-biased and more informative review somewhere else¡Kbut please, buy into this slightly embellished review¡K.and go watch it already! =D I highly recommend it.

Wandering Samurai
Ah, the tales of Rurouni Kenshin.... What is there really to say about this anime other that it's a great one? Kenshin, the hero with a tragic past. Kaoru, the heroine and owner of the Kamiya dojo. Yahiko, a samurai wannabe and a student of Kaoru. Sanosuke, Kenshin's best friend, a freeloader and a streetfighter. Megumi, a doctor which was saved by Kenshin and Sanosuke from this whole opium ordeal. They form the Kenshin gumi, and goes through a lot of trouble to fight off Shishio, the leader of the Ten Swords. (That's just season 1....)
I hail Nubihiro Watsuki for creating this anime along with Aoshi... (*giggle*)

Kenshin's Versatility
Kenshin was very awesome. It had a very wide range of appeal--Kenshin's abundant cuteness appealed to the girls, while his supressed fighting abilities brought out the imaginations of everyone. While the fighting scenes were kind of dinky (swirl, flash, clang, you're down), the series more than made up for it with humor and creativity. It was also very unpredictable--hardly ever was there a moment where you didn't find yourself guessing where the story was leading you, caught and intrigued, and wanting to know what happens next. The animation quality was nice, but not seemless. As for the soundtrack, it was very versatile as well, with jazz and techno background tracks. The opening song was very cute and bouncy, although it had some very nice guitar riffs, and also, I found it strange that they mixed such depressing lyrics with such a bouncy tune. Lyrics and fight scenes aside, I would definately recomend this series to anyone.
