Shurato is our typical idealistic, brash youth growing up in Tokyo, Japan. He and his best friend Gai were scheduled to take part in the  finals of the All-Japan Junior Martial Arts Championship. They were pitting their strength against each other when they were suddenly transported into another plane of reality. The Heavenly Plane. Shurato woke up to the kiss of Lakshu, a 16 year old girl, resident in the heavenly plane. She became his girlfriend, as expected. It was later revealed that Shurato and Gai were part of the Hachibushu (the rest being Hyuga, Ryooma, Reiga, Renge, Kuuya and Dan). While undergoing their rebirth on earth, the two of them had been summoned back to the plane by Vishnu (Goddess of Harmony) to protect the peace and harmony of the Heavenly Pane. However, during his journey back to the Plane, Gai had been corrupted by the dark lord, Indra and could no longer recognize Shurato nor remember the past. His dark side surfaced and it was the beginning of many attempts to kill off Shurato and his friends. This was the cause of endless heartaches for Shurato as he and Gai clashed against each other conflict after conflict during the attempt of the remaining 4 Hachibushu (including Hyuga, Ryooma, Reiga plus Lakshu) to restore Vishnu who had been turned to stone by Indra.
