Battle Royale is the epitome of entertainment, and i can say that because it doesnt actually exist in real life, the manga far outstrips the movie in every department, but most importantly charecter. the Charecters in the Battle Royale Manga are beyond conceptions or ideas, they ar in many ways real, thanks to LOST style flashbacks (which are actually neccesary not indulgent) we see each and every kids life. from thei rlosses to their crushes to their sometimes heartwrenching deaths, you will never forget the Charecters ever.

The story differs vastly from the movie, so even i fyou've seen the film there are stiil some surprises along the way.
Bat tRoyale the manga however is very, very, very...very violent. this is due to the art being unlike most other Manga's, the art is very detailed and realistic, and in the laterr books becomes astonishing. The first time you see violent picture you'll pull back and feel shocked, but stick with it and you'll find that in such a detailed plot, charecter and adventure book the gore is neccesary.

There are 15 volumes of the serise and they are all pretty new, the artist Masayuki Taguchi has won many awards for his art but Battle Royale is his first and Currently (he's signed up to do other projects)his first venture into doing Manga books.

The covers for the books are goo dto bad, but inside there is not a flaw to be found, buying Battle Royale the manga isnt just giong to be another moderatly good manga, it's going to be an intense, exciting, heartfelt, Brutal, Interesting, Scary and most Moving experince you'll ever know through this, and possibly any, entertainment medium.
