Quite contradicting to some of Rumiko Takahashi's other works, such as the very popular Inu Yasha and the classic Ranma 1/2, Mermaid Scar is a unique blend of many elements that make certain works stand out, and be remembered.

Although I am terrified by this anime, it truly is not scary, unless you happen to be a seven year old whom had innocently picked it up for two dollars at a Blockbuster sale thinking it was going to be a cartoon similar to the Little Mermaid. How do I know? Personal experience.

Though it tends to be a little gory for my taste, in comparison to the story and plot, the characters are memorable and the animation is quite good.

I give this anime a four.

I've had this movie for a while and have found that i can't wait to get the others of this series. The more I watch it the more I think I made the right choice in buying this movie.
