Five hundred years previously, there was a war on Earth; humans vs. Enterrans. Enterrans are genetically enhanced, with the DNA of animals, insects and humans, created to combat a virus which was wiping out the human race, but they turned out to be evil. A small number of them possess the power to become Hyper Enterrans, fighting warriors superior to their \'normal\' Enterran form. The Enterrans won the war, and renamed the Earth to Enterra. Yakumo, the last human girl on Enterra, was struck by a fragment of meteorite and gifted with certain powers. Her father, knowing this and hoping that in the future it would benefit both humans and Enterrans, put her into cold sleep for what was supposed to be 50 years. But a computer malfunction turned it into 500 years. Now awake, Yakumo must journey to Shinzo, where the key to restoring peace on Enterra lies. Along the way, she befriends three Enterrans (Mushra, Sago and Kutal) who protect her as she makes her way to Shinzo. On the trip, they encounter many enemies, and only when she finally reaches Shinzo does Yakumo really see how important her quest is.
