Fujiwara no Sai was one of the two men assigned as the Go tutor to the emperor. The other tutor, being envious of him, challenged him to a Go match under the terms that whoever lost would have to resign, and by cheating he won. Sai later committed suicide, but years later 6th grader Shindoh Hikaru finds an old Go table in the attic of his grandfather\\\'s house and seeing blood, he tries to wipe it off, but becomes possessed by Sai\\\'s spirit! Now the only way for the two to seperate is for Hikaru to become a Go master himself.
