Moe Katsuragi experiences the pain of having a crush turn wrong when her own crush, Yuya Fukami, has the \"hots\" for girls other then Moe. When she reaches the lowest point of all of the lows she has faced, something happens: a tiny fairy-like creature appears, grabs a tiny scythe, and tells Moe that it is here for her soul.

While trying to take Moe\'s soul, the sprite lungs at her only to miss and cut a nearby poster on a wall in half. This creature then introduces itself as Risky, a shinigami-in-training (a shinigami is a Japanese God of Death). Risky is there is take Moe\'s soul and release her of the unhappiness in which she feeling.

By magically replaying the events that has led to Moe\'s misery, Risky hopes to take her soul. Instead, Moe remebers how much she still has feelings towards Yuya and knows that she can not be mad at him forever. This, in turn, transforms Risky into a cute, long-haired, round spectacled angel named Safty. But where did Risky go?

The anime focus\'s on Moe\'s life and how Risky and Saftey interfere with it, no matter if it is for better or for worse.
