Eh...everyone else has commented on things already but nonetheless... er hrm... I 'think' the back ground with the books was intentionally faded so that the other characters stood out more?

I don't think this has been mentioned...I love the dragon sized books. The image is so busy, but in a way that makes it so very interesting. The coloring looks great. The dragon....Well lets just say I've been trying to get someone to draw me a great dragon forever....I do love them. Nice image and congrats on the contest.~Fanilia

The dragon is very original. I don't think I've ever seen a dragon with that type of facial hair, hehe. Sorry ;P I really do love the dragon though. Dragons are my favorite mythological creature, and, if they WERE real, they would be my favorite animal.Ahh, too bad. EEEE! It's black! My favorite color! Man, I think this is my favorite picture. I'm gonna add you to my favorites. Do you notice any favoritism going on?

Nice all round work, I love the subtlety of the medium type and the effect it has on the mood of the picture, fine picture. Only problems I can see is that the subtlety/dullness of the medium/style sucks the 3D out of some elements making them look a little flat. This is particularly apparent in the dragons body and the boys pants & shoes. If these elements had more apparent overall shading and highlights to emphasise form as well as surface it might put more "volume" back into the picture. Love it though ;)

This is a lovely piece, and I'm glad I submitted it to the Showcase. :) I really like the color and attention to detail used in the piece. The background seems a bit faded, but I can't tell if it was intentional or not. The interaction between the dragon and the person and the stacks of books works really well. :)

**blinks** Wow, that's amazing. I love how the dragon is drawn, and how you drew the books. I couldn't draw books to save my life honestly. The background seems a bit tilted though. As if the room was at a slant. Other than that I can find nothing wrong with it at all. Great coloring job too. ^^~The Phox~

Wow! That is amazing! I do agree, the dragon in fantastic, and the character is lovely as well! Nothing really seems to be off in my opinion, I think that the whole picture is great! Perhaps the background (the fades books) could use to be more defined, but other than that, excellent work! ~~Amostar~~

Very nice! This takes me back to the days of reading endless stacks of fairytales. I like the way the background seems bathed in misty daylight. It adds an ethereal feeling to the room. Incredible piece you have here, so thanks for sharing it with us!
