Gokoi gazed down the long winding paths of Snake Way as the
sun passed over it leaving light pink and orange colors in
the sky over it. Her long, slightly gray, hair swayed in the
breeze, and her dark green eyes held a faint glimmer of the
rebellious light they held in her youth. When she was a
child she had no idea that she would return here so many
times throughout her life. A light purple hand settled on
her shoulder, "What dark demons trouble you today Gokoi?"
She gave Snake Way one last look and turned to greet the
Kaio-shin. "Only the ones that haunt my memories."
~~~flashback~~~
Ninety-seven years earlier...
Gokoi stood just outside the earth's check in station. She
had just passed judgement from King Yema to go to Heaven.
Several hours before she had just been born and died and was
still quite confused on how afterlife worked. Ahead of her
was the gates of Heaven, behind her, where she had just come
from was the check in station, and to her left was Snake
Way. The large stone path that disappeared in the distance
mesmerized her and seemed much more interesting then the
tall, gold gates. She quickly climbed over the large snake
head entrance and wandered over the paths. Had she known
what lay beneath her as she walked, she surely would have
gone the other way. It was several weeks later, after many
exhausting days of walking that the winds picked up and made
it difficult to walk any further. She lifted one foot and
lost her balance, throwing her off Snake Way and through the
orange clouds that hid hell. There she landed, scared and
alone to spend the rest of eternity.
~~~End flashback~~~
Kaio-shin smiled at the aged Gokoi, "You can't stay here
forever. There are people waiting for you."
Gokoi sighed and looked back at Snake Way for the last time.
~~~Flashback~~~
After thirteen years of death in hell Gokoi became a
hardened demon. One of Satan's best. All innocence that she
once had was now a distant memory, shadowed by years of slow
torture and pain. Dark wings with razor sharp feathers were
folded neatly on her back, power seemed to radiate off of
her and crackle in the air. Another demon stood in front of
her, smirking, his sharp fangs in a slight smile. "Hey kid."
he greeted her, "There is going to be a raid on Kaio-shin's
palace itself. Are you coming?"
Gokoi's tail lashed behind her thoughtfully. The last few
raids on Heaven had been disastrous with very few survivors
on their side. The last time only three came out alive,
Dragonus, the person talking to her, Behemoth, and Gokoi
herself. Going after Kaio-shin himself was suicide. She
shook her head. Dragonous smiled again, "If you don't plan
on going then at least allow me to accompany you on a
torture..."
She gave him a cold look and turned away, "I'll see you at
the raid Dragonous."
~~~~~End Flashback~~~~~~~
"You were quiet the trouble maker back then." Kaio-shin
commented with a hint of humor, "Luckily we got to you
before it got worse."
~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~
Kaio-shin sat in his palace doing paper work. Outside it was
peaceful, sunny, and warm like always. Not much had been
going on in the afterlife save for several raids on heaven.
But lately things looked like they were looking up.
Kaio-shin looked out the window to see the beautiful scenery
outside but as he did the entire palace began to shake.
"Whats going on?" Kaio looked down toward the entrance of
his palace and saw a group of demons ramming into it. He
sighed and decided to take on the delinquents by himself
once and for all. Meanwhile, Gokoi and Dragonous took in
upon themselves to char his garden on the opposite side of
his palace. Gokoi fired powerful blasts everywhere she saw
green, and when the flowers were reduced to nothing more
then red dirt she continued blasting in an uncontrollable
rage. Dragonous stared at her. When she had first come to
hell she was an innocent child and easily manipulated. After
only 14 years she had the cruelty and hardness of a demon's
that usually are in hell for centuries. Suddenly she was
struck from behind and she fell face first into the ground
unconscious, her wings fluttering behind her limply. All
went black and the last thing she saw was Dragonous fleeing.
