~*~ Healing ~*~

The late morning sun showed brightly through the crack in the curtains. Bulma groaned as she forced herself to sit up in the chair that she had been sitting in for hours. Probably wasn't good for her posture, but who cared. Bulma sighed to herself wondering why she had made certain choices in her life. Why had she agreed to marry Yamcha? She had known that their relationship wasn't right for either of them, but either way she knew she had loved him. He was the only one man she had ever loved, and now he was dead and she felt nothing. She wondered if she was in shock, but she didn't have time to contemplate these things now.
" Maybe Baby." She whispered to herself. " Maybe."

It was about one pm before Celeste finally awoke. Her brown eyes were filled with a mixture of sorrow and confusion. " How will I tell her this? How am I going to do this?" Bulma wondered as she hit the call button for a nurse.
" Aunt Bulma?" Celeste's little voice called.
" Yes honey its me." Bulma said as she brushed back a tiny bit of stray blond hair from her face.
" Where's Daddy?" She asked. Bulma's heart stopped for a moment.
" He's....." Bulma began but was soon cut off by the entering nurse.
" Yes?" A familiar cheerful voice asked." Someone rang for a nurse?"
" Yes I-" Bulma began as she looked at the nurse. " Marron?! Your a nurse?!"
( A/N: Evil aren't I?)
" Bulma!" Marron said as she hugged Bulma suddenly. Bulma cringed she had never really like Marron.
" Yes I'm a nurse now! After Krillan broke my heart I had to do something, so I became a nurse!" She said cheerfully.
" Oh, Well that's good to hear." Bulma said as she looked back to Celeste. " She just woke up."
" Okay! Well I have to go page her doctor to come and see her. Be right back!" Marron said as she scurried out the door. Bulma looked on a bit troubled about Marron being a nurse. I mean it was no secret that she wasn't terribly bright.
" Daddy's is with Mommy now isn't he?" Celeste asked Bulma as she began to play with her blanket.
" Yes he is sweetie." Bulma said sadly. Celeste was only four years old but she was quite intelligent for a four year old. " But I'm going to stay with you, I promise." Bulma said as she hugged Celeste gently.

Celeste was released in a matter of days after the accident and soon the days and weeks just flew by, and Bulma and Celeste both began to heal. Bulma had managed to get sole custody of Celeste, after all she was the only one who could do it. Leslie had no family and Yamcha had a sister, but she claimed that she couldn't take care of her because of her lack of money due to her children. But the pain of losing a mother and father for Celeste began to fade slowly. She often told Bulma about how she missed her mom, but she never said much about her dad. She also had nightmares often. She never could remember what they where about, just that they where scary. It had seemed for a four year old Celeste had a very good sense of what death meant. It seemed at times that Bulma was just as caught up - if not more - in this as Celeste was. The shock of losing Yamcha for good had worn off but there wasn't pain, just an unbelievable sense of loneliness. Sometimes she cried all night, sometimes she had painful dreams about the past, but most of the times she just felt cold and alone.

After a few months Bulma had decided that it would be better if Celeste went into daycare. She needed to be around children her own age. It was a private daycare, with only a small amount of children. The owner of it was a former teacher so she had been able to adapt her methods of teaching and teach small children. Celeste always said that she had fun and she was well liked by the other children.

Bulma had finally gotten back to work, so that was a large part of her day. It felt good to do something that didn't involve Yamcha. When she worked she didn't have time to think about things, which was probably good because being distracted while running a multimillion dollar company isn't really a good idea.

Things went back to normal for the most part, give or take a few things. Bulma found herself more excited about her pregnancy as the days flew past. She was about seven months pregnant by now, and one big blur of emotions and hormones. One minute she would be as happy as could be, the next in a rage about something and the next who knew? But no matter how bad Bulma got she was careful not to take out her emotions on Celeste, Vegeta and her parents took it well enough.

Everyone did seem to be excited about the baby though. Her mother was buying out half of Chikyuu just to decorate a nursery. Celeste too seemed to be excited about the baby, but she had still was too little to understand that this was her half sister. She just liked the idea of having a baby around. Vegeta could really have cared less if Bulma was pregnant or not, just as long as she could make the repairs on his gravity machine he didn't care. In fact that didn't deter him from arguing with her either, not that it bothered Bulma, she still needed someone to take out her rages on.

Celeste seemed to adjust rather well to living with Bulma. She liked Bulma her parents and even Vegeta. Bulma definitely had to give Celeste credit sometimes though, she definitely wasn't afraid of Vegeta. There had been times when she did things that seemed to completely mortify him, although he did a good job of disguise it with disgust. It was almost laughable.
" Aunt Bulma! Look!" Celeste said as she bounced into her lab her blond hair and sweater dirty with mud.
" What?" Bulma said as she looked at the little girl. Celeste smiled as she reached up for Bulma. Bulma smiled as she picked Celeste up and sat her on a stool so that she could see about the counter.
" Look at this pretty leaf Aunt Bulma!" Celeste said as she offered her a yellow and red leaf.
" Wow, pretty huh?" Bulma said as she examined the colors in the leaf.
" Yeah! I'm gonna put it in my book!" Celeste said as she held the leaf in her hand.
" That will be pretty in there." Bulma said as she smiled.
" What are you doing Aunt Bulma?" Celeste asked as she looked at the blue prints in front of Bulma.
" I'm looking over the blue prints for an invention. Do you know what blue prints are?" Bulma asked as she glanced over them again.
" No."
" Well its sorta like instructions to build something." Bulma explained. " Understand?"
" Uh-huh." Celeste said. Suddenly a loud slam of a door startled both Celeste and Bulma.
" WOMAN!" Vegeta bellowed as he entered her lab. " Out brat."
" Okay!" Celeste said cheerfully, hopping down from the stool that she was on. " See ya later Aunt Bulma! Hi Veggie!" Celeste yelled, skipping out of the room.
" What in the hell could be so important that it called for a tantrum Vegeta?" Bulma asked as she looked back to her blueprints.
" Your damn gravity machine broke again." He snarled, crossing his arms and taking his usual stance.
" Well if you didn't train like a rabbit in heat maybe it wouldn't break all the time!" Bulma laughed inwardly at the strange expression. " Where did that come from?" Bulma wondered amusingly.
" Woman I don't have time for your strange sayings just fix the damn thing now!" He yelled at the pregnant woman.
" Forget it!" Bulma said as she rolled up the blueprints. " I am not going to do any more work tonight. I have to eat, and I have to take Celeste to the mall for winter clothes shopping. I'll fix it tomorrow, and if you so much as push the subject I will stall as long as I can when I do fix it!" She threatened, she was in a take no prisoners mood when it came to Vegeta today.
" Not If you want to live." He said in a low voice, that just about scared the shit out of Bulma.
" Forget it Vegeta!" She said as she brushed past him. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her back in front of him.
" Woman you will do as I say." He whispered in her ear. Bulma was quite puzzled as to why this seemed to turn her on. " My god has it really been that long that I'm getting hot over Vegeta?" She thought in bewilderment, after all being pregnant did have its downfalls.
" Drop dead." She muttered. He smirked rather sadistically as he closed the space between them and quickly covered her mouth with his. Bulma eyes widened slightly, she couldn't believe this was happening, furthermore she couldn't believe she was enjoying it. This went on for a few more seconds until she finally broke the kiss to breathe.
" Vegeta! What the hell has gotten into you!" She asked a bit starttled. He let go of her wrist and started for the door.
" Nothing, not like you had a problem with it anyway." He chuckled as he left the room. Bulma took a deep breathe and tried to pull herself together. That was like nothing that she had ever experienced. " All that gravity has been weighing down on his brain for too long." Bulma thought aloud as she turned off the lights to her lab and locked the door.

When Bulma reached the house she was greeted by her mother and Celeste.
" Hi honey." Her mother said as she entered the house.
" Hey mom." Bulma said as she sat her brief case in the corner of the room. " Hi Celeste. Are you ready to go?" Bulma asked.
" Yeah!" Celeste shouted.
" Well go get your coat." Bulma said as Celeste ran off.
" I cleaned her up. She had mud everywhere!" Her mother said as Bulma sat down on the couch.
" Yeah she was out playing earlier." Bulma said softly.
" She reminds me of you when you were little." Her mother said softly. " You were always so inquisitive." Bulma laughed softly as she remembered several times from her childhood when that had gotten her in trouble.
" I'm ready!" Celeste said as she bounced back into the living room.
" Okay lets go shopping then!" Bulma said as she patted Celeste on the head and walked out the door

The mall had been unusually empty that day, which made Bulma's job so much easier, but oh well not everyone worked her kind of hours. Celeste might have been one of the few children who actually enjoyed clothes shopping. She bounced around picking out dresses and such that she liked. Bulma couldn't help but laugh, Celeste was exactly like her mother. However, Celeste did also have the motivation to buy out an entire toy store.

After an hour an a half Bulma had bought Celeste enough clothes to wear all winter. Bulma was almost exhausted by the time that they had checked out of the last store. The only other time she had shopped this much was when her mother took her on that bakery shopping trip from hell.
" Do you think I got all I needed Aunt Bulma?" Celeste said as she fiddled with a bag.
" I think so Celeste." Bulma said as she patted her on the head. Celeste smiled widely at her, that was the first time she had really smiled since her mother and father had died.
" Okay last one to the cars a rotten egg." Celeste said as she ran in the direction of the door, Bulma laughed and followed.

It was about five thirty when the pair got home from shopping. Luckily they had walked in just right on time to eat, which was lucky for Bulma who was completely famished. Dinner went well for the most part, except for the occasional insults, which was only to be expected when Vegeta was eating. Celeste seemed not to care about anything that was going on except for eating, apparently shopping also tired her out.

After dinner had finished Bulma's parents went off to bed, which Bulma suspected was the
" things " her mother had said she needed to do that day. Vegeta of course went back to training, which left Bulma and Celeste to do the dishes. The near five year old girl didn't mind helping with the dishes, she felt it was a very grown up thing to do. The pair soon finished and Celeste got an extra dessert for a treat.
" Celeste time for bed." Bulma said as she took the empty dish from the little girl.
" Do I have to go Aunt Bulma?" Celeste pouted.
" Yes you do." Bulma said as she set the dish in the sink.
" Okay! But will you tell me a story?" Celeste asked with a smile.
" Of course, but only if you hurry up and get ready!" Bulma smiled.
" Okay!" Celeste said as she ran up the stairs to get ready. Bulma shook her head and sighed, unconsciously resting her hands on her now large stomach. She hadn't imagined her life would be like this a few months ago, but fate had a nice way of screwing with you. She also didn't know how she was going to take care of Celeste and her baby.
" Kami give me strength." Bulma silently prayed as she headed up the stairs.

Celeste was surprisingly finished by the time Bulma had reached Celeste's room, except for a shirt that had been put on inside out. Bulma smiled as she sat down on Celeste's bed, her story for that night would be another one of the adventures that she and Goku had had when they where younger. Celeste always seemed those kinds of stories, especially ones where her father where involved. By the time Bulma had nearly finished the little girl was already sound asleep. Bulma smiled as she observed the girl. She really had turned out to be a perfect mix of her mother and father. She had her mothers wit ( Thank Kami ) and beauty and her fathers charm and strength. Bulma smiled again as she turned out the light and closed the door.

Bulma slipped sliently into her room. It had been a very long and confusing day. Not that it was really different from any other day except for the kiss. She didn't know what had gotten into her. It had been almost three months since she had last been with Yamcha, but now she was getting hot over Vegeta? Yeah so what if he had a nice body, well nice didn't do it justice, but he was a mass murder with the ego of a small planet and an attitude to match!

Bulma sighed as she slid into a nightgown that could easily be described as huge. Maybe sleep, or at least what she could get of it, would clear her head a bit. Her lack of sleep had caused her too worry a little, not getting enough sleep wasn't good for the baby. Being pregnant wasn't exactly the best way of getting the most sleep. " Oh well, some sleep is better than none." Bulma thought as she slipped under the covers of her bed.

Sleep came fairly easily that night, but after that her reality became far more terrifying.

A deafening silence and a thick darkness engulfed her, she couldn't see or hear anything except her own breath. A bright blast of light suddenly lit the room. Quickly she turned her eyes and face from the blinding light, but something pulled her chin back to see the light. Two figures stood in front of her. Bulma squinted desperately trying to see more, finally could see that the two figures were children. They stood side by side, both were her children, she could sense it. The little girl was slim with black hair that has a bluish hue to it. Her features and eyes resembles Yamcha's. She wore a long white robe with a crystal necklace.

The boy on the other hand was dressed in what could be called normal clothes. He also has very pale skin, but his hair was a lavender color and his eyes steel blue. Bulma shivered slightly. The boy looked chillingly familiar. He looked like a younger version of that strange boy from the future, but the boy reminded her of someone else, but Bulma couldn't quite put her finger on it.
" Bulma...." A soothing voice called to her. Bulma whirled around desperately trying to find the owner of the voice.
" Who's there?" She screamed fearfully.
" Bulma........." The voice called again, but this time the voice had an occupant. Leslie stood in front of her. Her long blond hair flowing in front of her, blue eyes shining.
" Leslie?" Bulma choked out.
" Yes its me. I have a message for you."
" What?" Bulma asked suddenly afraid. Leslie smiled slightly.
" Don't be afraid Bulma." Leslie said, her small hand brushing against Bulma's cheek. " Your life is about to change again Bulma. Don't be afraid." Her hand now cupping her chin. " You can't hold onto your pain forever."
" I can't live with anymore change Leslie!" Bulma cried desperately.
" You can and you will Bulma. There are things we can not prevent from happening no matter how hard we try. But we can always learn from change." Leslie offered her hand to Bulma. She grasped her hand tightly. " Come with me I want to show you something." Bulma stood and obeyed and soon was lead out of her darkness. The next thing that she knew she was in the sky looking down on the earth from space. The sun shined brightly on the western side of the world while the eastern side remained dark, indicating it was night. A small speck of light crawled across the earth. " Do you see that light Bulma?" She asked pointing to slow moving light.
" Yes. What is it?" Bulma whispered.
" It is Yamcha's soul." Leslie whispered, her eyes downcast on the earth. " He was a good man, but his sins against us cost us our lives in one way or another." She continued. " He was sentenced to walk the earth for ten thousand years. He is paying for what he had done to us. But I am not here to talk about Yamcha, I am here to plead with you Bulma." She said slowly turning to face her. " Your destiny is to be happy, but your heart is closed! How can you be happy when your trying to shut down? Please Bulma remember what I have told you tonight, everything will be fine in the outcome. Everything happens as it is suppose to, I know that now. Don't worry about Yamcha, he is paying for what he he's done." Leslie said, letting go of Bulma's hand. In an instant Bulma was in her bedroom. " Take solace in that fact!" Leslie's voice rang through Bulma's head. Suddenly Celeste's voice tore through Bulma's room and like a shot Bulma ran into Celeste's room and found Celeste huddled on her bed, sobbing. Bulma wrapped her arms around her and held her.
" I had a bad dream." Celeste whispered.
" It isn't real though." Bulma whispered. Celeste whimpered in response. " I know." Bulma whispered kissing Celeste on the head gently.

It took an hour and three story's to get Celeste back to sleep. Whatever the dream it had certainly worked Celeste up a great deal. Bulma looked at the clock quickly, it glowed the numbers 12:30. The hum of the gravity machine could still be heard in the distance. " He's going to kill himself." Bulma mumbled, pulling the covers up.

(A/N: Hey people! That has to be some kind of record for the shortest amount of time between chapters! YES! LOL. Anyway in the next chapter Leslie's predictions come true!
