Skyler'' I heard my mom screaming from downstairs. " You don't wanna be late for your first day at school''. I slowly got up from my bed and rubbed my eyes. When I got up, I looked at myself in my mirror and realized that I wasn't in California anymore since my mom's fiance got a job offer. My family and I had to pack up and move to Canada! I had to leave my friends and mostly all my stuff In California. The thing I missed the most was my dad. When my mom and dad split, My mom agreed to stay in California till I graduated high school. But plans changed when my mom met Steve, Her stupid boyfriend. Now Her soon to be husband!

Then I heard a knock on my door. '' Skyler, you up? '' my mom asked while waking into my room. " Hey, are you excited? '' I gave her a stern look, Then I looked back at my closet. " Oh, and I have a surprise for you downstairs." I got dressed in a black T-shirt with black shorts with a pair of black ankle-high boots and headed downstairs just to see my best friend Brooklyn sitting at my dining room table, eating a cinnamon bun my mom made. "Brooklyn, what are you doing here!" I asked while hugging her. 

" My mom said I could come here and stay with my grandma," she said while stuffing her face with food. '' Well, you guys should be heading to school.'' my mom said while handing me my backpack. Brooklyn and I headed outside, hopped onto my motorcycle, and headed to school.
