Chapter 2: Halloween

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 months before my sweet sixteen.

Halloween was one of my favorite times. There was one particular Halloween that stood out to me. For more then one reason of course. My whole tribe went away to the family camp.It's sort of a tradition, my grandparents brought there kids and now they are bringing all of their kids. Anyway we usually rent the camp out with another family; I'm mentioning them for a reason. A girl named Naomi came with her best friend who happened to be a boy named Riley. They were around my age I suppose though I don't really remember. Now the reason that I am mentioning him is because I liked him and for once it wasn't a one sided crush. He liked me too.

On the first day at camp all the kids mostly hung out getting to know one another. The boys and Naomi played basketball. She was on a basketball team back at her home. She was really good too. Erin, a girl named Marry, and Glory were with me on the sidelines.

We mostly watched them play. I would catch Riley looking at me every now and then. He kind of made me blush. But what really made my heart flutter was when I would catch Devin looking at me with such a tensed face. His brows were draw together when ever he would look at me and then to Riley.

“Why is Devin looking at you like that?” Erin asked as I rolled my eyes and silently chanted ~he doesn't matter to me~ “I don't know why don't you ask him?” I said harder then I should have. “listen don't get huffy!” she pushed me and I laughed. God I loved that girl. I'm telling you right now she is my heart.

BAM the basketball hit me right in the head. That's Right Square in the head and I was down for the count. Riley, Devin and Naomi ran over to me. Riley got there first and held out his hand to me. “Man I'm so sorry are you ok?” he asked as he pulled me up. Now when I say I liked this guy I really did like him. I mean there was nothing wrong with him, he was nice cute sexy.

My mind told me to look at him and answer him but my eyes went a whole other way. They sought out Devin and when I made eye contact he looked away and went for the ball. “I'm fine really.” I answered with a shy embarrassed smile. “He really didn't mean to hurt you … to tell you the truth he just wanted an excuse to talk to you.” Naomi teased.

“So he knocks her out!” Erin said dripping with sarcasm. And we all laughed. For the rest of the day Riley and I were pretty much inseparable. Though I must admit I did have ulterior motives. See I didn't want to admit to myself that I had feelings for Devin however small it was it was there and I wanted it gone. And Riley was a good distraction.

He was good looking, nice, and he liked me. I liked him too just not as much as I would have liked!

The next day was Halloween and we were all getting dressed up. There was so much to do that day. Our parents were all having a party at the main cabin so the kids were going to have a party of there own.

Plus there was also the treasure hunt. I loved that game. Mostly cause it started when it gets dark and you have to go on the hike trail to find what ever the treasure is. I don't know why I like all that spooky stuff, but I do.

Erin and I were getting ready in our room. She was going as a cat. No not cat woman, her parents wouldn't let her do anything too sexy. I mean she was only like 12 or 13 at the time. But she was a cute cat none the less.

I was the one that everyone wanted to kill that year. I decided that it was time for me to show everyone that I wasn't a little girl anymore. I went as Elvira. For those of you who don't know who she is, she was this dumb sexy chick that came out in this horror comedy movie.

“Your mom is letting you wear that?” Erin asked as she looked me up and down. I had on a long black wig and Elvira's long black, form fitting dress. That showed all my cleavage, and had a split up the front left side all the way up to my center thy. I had a little belt wrapped around my waist that held a small plastic knife, and a pair of knee high black boots.

“She went with me when I picked it out.” I told her as she was doing my make up. “You know when Gavin and Chase see you they are going to have a fit.” we laughed because we knew it was true but what could they really do? My mom said I could wear it because we were going to be around family so she trusted that nothing could happen with them around.

Little did she know that I had a very devious mind back then. “Well are you ready to go out there?” she asked as we went to open the door. “Let's go” I said with all the confidence in the world. Huh if people only knew how insecure I really was.

Gio and Ryan were the first people we saw as soon as we came out the room. Ryan had on a face because though he is my younger brother he swore he was older. He stood close to me as we started to walk in the hallway. “Damn Mel that shit is hot on you.” Gio said as he looked me up and down. “Wait till Riley see's you” he ran down the hall no doubted to find Riley.

And just my luck Gavin and Chase come around the corner, giving me a once over before they lifted me up to hall me back into my room. “Change!” they demanded but I stood my ground “NO!” I mean I understand that they were older and over protective but if my mom didn't have a problem then they could just shove it! And that is exactly what I told them. Course they needed proof so Erin had to go get my mom so they would leave me alone.

While Erin was gone Devin showed up at my door wearing the freedy glove passing that off as his costume. He looked at me a little shocked before Riley showed up behind him. What happened next kind of shocked me, because Devin was never a loud, ruff, or forceful person. He turned and saw Riley looking at me and shoved him out the door. All the while telling him to stop drooling.

Gavin and Chase were actually proud of him. Not really suspecting that he might be jealous or something. They were so proud in fact that when they got tired of waiting on Erin to get my mom they told him to wait in the room with me and not to let me leave and let no one in. boy did he ever take that responsibility serious.

Once they were gone I told Devin that my mom helped me pick this out fit on and I tried to leave but he blocked me. “Your not going anywhere in that.” he told me pointing to my cleavage. I was getting mad so I tried to push past him but he simply locked the door with one hand and held me off with the other. “Move!” I yelled. This was getting ridicules.

I was ready to kick some ass. And for some reason I thought I could. I went to push him once more and he lifted me up over his shoulder and brought me down on the bed. I struggled to free my self but the more I struggled the more my breast were coming out and when I noticed I froze as did he when his eye came in contact with the first sight of my nipples.

We were both breathing hard me looking at him and him looking at my breast. His hands slowly moved from my waist to just below my breast. My heart was beating so fast in my ears that I didn't even hear the door when Erin knocked on it. But apparently Devin did because in one quick movement he lifted the material over my breast helped me to sit up on the bed and went to open the door.

Erin looked a little surprised to see him in my room even more surprised when he pushed past her to get out. Slowly looking back towards me she smiled “your mom told the boys to leave you alone.” my smile came quick as I jumped off the bed and grabbed Erin's hand and ran out the room.

We met up with Naomi, Riley and the rest of our cousins. It was so funny when ever Riley would put his arm around me either Gavin, Chase, Damian even Jason would make him move at least 5 feet away from me. It is laughable now but at the time I was really getting annoyed with them.

So Erin, Naomi, Marry, and Glory came up with a plan to get me alone with Riley. At the time I didn't know what was going on. Glory, Marry and Erin pulled me away from my would be body guards saying something along the lines of we're going to the bath room. They pulled me to the other end of the cabin and out the other door taking me to the next cabin and told me to wait there in the doorway.

About a minute later Riley was there with me. We made small talk. He told me how nice I looked. And I blushed of course. “Is it alright if I kiss you.” came out of no where but I didn't deny him. {Oh man I was about to have my first kiss and I was excited … yet I felt wrong}

I nodded yes and he slowly came down and pecked me on the lips. ~cheep I know~ but don't worry that's not it. He came back in for another kiss lightly sucking my bottom lip into his mouth. I held on to the front of his shirt and slightly opened my mouth to feel his tong try for entrance.

And with my luck the way it was that day I really should have expected what happened next. Devin walked in the doorway. Riley and I quickly pushed away from one another. “Oh man don't scare us like that!” Riley told him but he wasn't looking at him. In fact I doubt he even heard him as he was looking at me so intensely.

I started to feel vulnerable under that stare so I did the first thing that came to mind. “What!!” I lashed out. He just shook his head and walked past us. For some reason I was feeling guilty. But what reason did I have to be guilty?

I didn't do anything wrong. Devin wasn't anything to me, right? I mean he's my cousin isn't he? Maybe not by blood but he's still my cousin right? “You don't think he'll tell” Riley brought me out of my little self conversation and I shook my head at him. Coward I thought to myself. “He wont” I answered as the girls showed up.

Erin pulled me away wanting to know details and I told her it was nice. I conveniently left out the part about Devin. I didn't want anyone thinking anything when it came to him and me.

Once the sun started to go down all the kid's prepared for the treasure hunt. We all had to meet in the front of the main cabin. One of the adults told us the first clue would be found somewhere on the hike trail. So we all headed down the road with or flash lights.

At night the hike was supper scary. You know dark narrow road surrounded by trees. About half way down the road most of the young children turned back to scared to go on. My brother and Erin with them. I went on with the group. I was currently sticking to my cousin Gio like glue, when everyone started heading into the wooded part of the trail.

Gio went a head of and a hand from behind pulled me back. I was scared out of my wits. Ready to scream when Devin pulled me back to his chest and whispered in my neck. “Did you like kissing him?”

I was shocked all of two seconds before pulling out of his hold and gritting out “it's none of your business.” I tried to stomp away and catch up with the group. I mean it was dark and kind of scary out. But he grabbed my wrist to stop me. “That much huh?” he was not letting me go.

“Why do you care?” I wined more then I wanted to as I turned to look at him with what I hoped was an annoyed face. But one look at him and I swear I was melting. I think he knew it to, because his once troubled look turned into a sly smirk. That look just made me angrier and I once again pulled away from him.

“Now look what you've done!” I yelled in irritation as I faced the flash light in the direction that everyone had gone in. “I can't even see them!” I groaned as I started to march in that direction. And once again I was being pulled in a different direction. Devin easily pulled me back then pushed me up against a tree.

One of his knees nudged between my legs, as he griped my waist with one hand and pulled my head back with the other. “What are you doing?” I whispered as I got lost in his dark eyes. He said nothing as he came down and kissed me hard, his tong not even waiting for permission as it dove into my mouth sweeping against my own.

~God to this day when ever I remember that kiss I get weak~ Devin molded himself against me kissing me fiercely then lightening up once I began to respond in kind to him. My arms moved of there own accord around his neck, playing with the hairs at the nape.

Pulling back he nibbled at my chin before whispering in a husky voice. “Was it anything like that.” my breathing was harsh and quick. I couldn't answer him. And I thank God I didn't have to as Gio and Damian showed up flashing there lights around looking for me.

I called out to them still looking Devin in the eye as he released me just in time. “She got scared” he teased and laughed a little as he nudged me in there direction. ~ How I wanted to kill him~ but as always I wasn't that lucky.
