He glanced at his watch. 8:03pm already? Well this has been a disappointment.

 

It was his day, a milestone in life, or so he'd been told. Today, he was turning 16. Yep. He was (almost) an adult. It wasn't as if he had had a bad day. He ate at a nice restaurant with his family and gone shopping. But only one of his friends bothered to so much as text him.

 

I'm being such a brat. I'm 16. So what if none of my friends called or emailed or anything…I can't let that get me down.

 

He sighed to himself. Who did he think he was kidding? He hated not hearing anything from his friends.

 

//If I recall, far far away

The future was shining on everywhere

Beneath the beautiful blue sky

We were slumbering forever//

 

A message? Quickly pulling his cell phone out of his pocket, he saw that it was in fact a message.

 

/heyo happy b-day still on for tomorrow?/

 

Pale fingers rapidly typed a response.
