"It's okay, Alice," Sammy said as he hugged her. "I won't talk about...him, and I won't go out as a girl so it won't freak you out. Okay?"

There was just too much change too fast. She didn't have time to adjust to anything before something else was thrown at her. Everything was just too fast and she felt like she was on a roller coaster that wouldn't let her off. She missed her Hatter, she missed the White Rabbit...and she missed Matthew...badly.

“You okay?" He moved her face up to him, stroking her cheeks.

She blinked a few times, as if she was a million miles from him. Finally, she nodded. "Yeah...we can go..."

"Okay," he smiled. Kissing her forehead, he pulled her with him outside.

Matthew pulled up to his house just as they were walking outside. "Hey, why are you still here?"

Alice looked at Matthew. She wanted to run to him, but she wasn't sure if that was the best idea. Instead she held tighter to Sammy's hand.

"We were busy getting Alice dressed," he told him. "Didn't want her recognized by anyone."

Matthew nodded slowly. "Good idea, but I can still tell it's her. Where are you going?"

"To the mall. She needs some panties and some clothes of her own."

Matthew sighed, rolling his eyes as he leaned against the car. "Fine. But I'm coming with you. A large mall, it would be harder to find her."

"Lose the coat and tie," Sammy told him. "You look too old."

Alice looked around. She let her fingers brush bushes and dead leaves as she stood there, careful not to mess with her stitches. Her eyes drifted back to Matthew and then back to Sammy. She flipped her black hair from her face, the curls bouncing as she did so. Her head itched.

Matthew rolled his eyes. Taking off his tie and he tossed his coat into his seat. "Fine. Let's go."

"Yay! You and Alice can share the passenger seat. The back seats don't have seat belts," he said with a smirk as he got into his car.

Matthew looked at Alice, swallowing hard. "Black hair?"

"I can't sit with him...he's hurt," she pointed out.

"I'll be fine," he told her. "I took pain shots this morning. Why didn't you tell me what you were doing?"

"You would have followed me...and they would have followed you," she said and opened the car door. She waited until he got in the sat between his legs, her skirt pushed up. Reaching around him, she buckled them in.

He bit his lip as she sat between him. She had hit his leg when she got in, and it took everything he could not to scream. With nothing else to do, he wrapped his arms around her waist. "What makes you think I would have followed you?"

She didn't look at him as she started pulling her skirt down. "Are you saying you wouldn't have?"

His hands slid lower and stopped her from moving her skirt. His fingers danced on her flesh. "No. I'm not saying that."

Alice blushed. "I...did think of you...missed you..."

"You missed me?" His fingers danced down the side of her leg, moving back up slowly. He did this only on the side by the passenger door so Sammy couldn't see it.

She nodded against him. "I worried if you would hate me for running...but I had to...I just couldn't be there any longer. And if I get caught...I know they will kill me...but I'm ok with that...it's worth it just to see the sky again."

"Well, I don't condone you running; but I'll do my best to keep you safe."

Her hand slid up his good leg. "I know."

He smiled at her touch. "You look cute with black hair, but I still prefer your blond hair," he whispered into her ear, tickling her flesh with his breath.

She looked over her shoulder at him. "I'm glad...I don't feel like myself like this..."

"I'll do what I can to make the police investigation go away. Then you'll be able to go out as yourself."

"I'll be fine anyway I look...as long as you are with me," she whispered.

He looked at her curiously. Sammy glanced over at them, a smile on his lips as Matthew glared at him until he looked back at the road.

Matthew's hands slid up more as he nuzzled her neck. "Really?"

Alice stiffened as he did this. She glanced at Sammy to see if he was looking but he wasn't. She relaxed. "Maybe now isn't the time to talk of such things..."

"Yes, well, while you two are shopping I'll be in the food court. I'm not exactly good at shopping."

"Aww, you don't want to look at skirts and underwear? I'm going to buy me some new stuff too!"

"I really didn't need to know that," he sighed.

Alice looked at her outfit. "You know...come to think of it. I bet he's worn this outfit before."

Sammy looked at her clothes and nodded. "You were raiding my closet, remember?"

She blushed. "Now I'm trying to figure out how all of you can fit into such a small...thong."

Matthew buried his face in her hair as he heard that.

Sammy just laughed. "Practice," he told her. "It's actually really comfortable."

She blushed again. "Kinda like those pictures of you and that guy?"

Sammy shuddered at the memory. "Yes, that's really good. Speaking of him, I'll have to call him to let him know not to come around for a little while." He pouted at that, but he didn't want to spook Alice.

"No, please. It's your house. I can stay in the room you let me borrow. There is so much more to do in there than in my last room. I don't mind him coming over," she assured him.

Sammy was practically beaming as he heard that. "I can't wait for you to meet him! He's such a great guy!"

"Are we at the mall yet?" Matthew sighed into Alice's neck. All this 'girl talk' was making him sick.

"He was very handsome in his pictures and looked very nice. I'm sure we will get along great!" she said.

Sammy pulled into a parking spot, smiling as he got out. He was already sending a text message to someone. "How do you feel about a double date tonight?"

"A what?" Matthew's eyes widened. "Whoa, I have to get back to the asylum; and Alice is still being chased...."

"It's just dinner," he said, sticking out his tongue. "Alice has never gotten to eat out at a nice restaurant; and I know she'd want her first time to be with you."

Alice opened the door and slipped out. "I don't want to cause any trouble. I don't mind staying at your house. At least I have windows."

"It's no trouble at all, Alice. If you want to come you're more than welcome to," he assured her. He took her hand, smiling as he started tugging her to the mall.

Matthew got out and slowly walked behind them, favoring his right leg.

Alice looked at all the people as she walked in. She had never been around so many people. She huddled against Sammy like he was a body guard. Though no one paid her much mind expect to look at her short skirt, she felt like they were all staring.

Matthew lost sight of them halfway into the mall. He could only hope that Sammy didn't get her a tattoo or something like that.

Sammy pulled her along to the first store and took her straight to the petite section. "Look, grab stuff you like, then take it there to try it on," he told her with a smile.

She looked at him. "You won't be far, right?"

"I'll be right beside you," he promised. "I'll even go to the changing room if you want."

She nodded. She walked with him through the sections looking at all the clothes. Her hand never left his as she pull out different things. Eventually, she had to let his hand go so she could carry it all without hurting her hand more. After a while, they went to the changing room, Alice pulled him in with her and let him help her try things on.

"This looks cute," he smiled as he helped her with the skirt. "And the top makes your boobs stand out."

"Why is it good to be so revealing?" she asked as she looked at herself in the body mirror.

"It's only good sometimes," he told her. "Like if you're with a lover and you want to excite him, or if you're trying to get attention."

"Ok," she said nodding. There was so much she didn't know about the little things. It was annoying to even her. After trying everything on, she decided to keep it all. "Will this cost too much?"

He shook his head. "Most of this stuff is on clearance. So we're good. You still need shoes, and some underwear."

She brought all the stuff out with her. "Alright."

He took the items from her and carried it up to the front. "Hold this for us," he winked at the manager and pulled her along to the lingerie. "Okay then. You remember your bra size? Look for whatever is cute and try it on. You'll want some comfy ones, some sexy ones, and push up. Also if you want normal panties or anything else now's your chance."

Once more she nodded and started looking. It took her longer to pick out bras and panties than anything. She wanted them all to be special...in case Matthew saw them. She picked out different bras and panties along with thongs. Once more, she brought them over to Sammy.

He smiled at her selection. "Very nice." He shifted through some of her undies and thongs, nodding his approval. "Matthew will love these," he said as he lifted up a thong with a bow. As Alice blushed, he nodded to the shoe section. "Let's see if we can't find you some shoes to go with your outfits."

She sat on a bench and let a lady pull out different styles and different types. Alice tried on a bunch of them and walked in them. Heels were difficult but Sammy gave her some tips and helped her. It didn't take long before she was getting the hang of them. After another long hour, she picked out the ones she liked and the lady rung them up along with the rest of her things. Alice picked out a few hats, gloves, jackets, and belts.

"You all set?" While Alice looked at accessories, Sammy was browsing the dresses, a box of shoes tucked under his arm.

"Yes," she said and put on a pair of gloves to hide her stitches.

He watched her, a smile plastered to his face. Taking the dress, he tossed it over his arm, and pulled her to the cashier. After adding his items to it, he paid for it all. They had several large bags which he had one of the young boys take out to his car for him. "So, how do you like shopping?"

"It's tiring," she said as she took his hand. "I'm hungry."

"We'll grab a bite to eat at the food court. That's where Matthew is suppose to be meeting us anyways." He pulled her along to the food court. After a few minutes of searching they found Matthew with a half eaten pizza.

Alice sat next to him and itched her wig before grabbing a slice. She smiled when she bit into it. "Mmmm!"

He rubbed his eyes as she sat down beside him. "So, did you girls enjoy your shopping trip?"

"You won't believe the underwear she bought," Sammy said as he grabbed a slice. "They don't cover anything."

Matthew's cheeks turned red as he took a sip of his drink.

Alice wasn't paying any attention. She had a slice in each hand and was staring at the glass ceiling while chewing.

"So...Alice. Have you decided if you want to go to dinner with me and Brian tonight?"

Alice looked at him and shrugged. There was too much food in her mouth for her to really say anything. After a moment she swallowed. "Pizza sounds good...or maybe that stuff from last night."

"Well, we'll see what we can do for you then." Sammy looked over at Matthew who was doing something with his phone. "What are you doing?"

"I'm checking my email at work. I've never been away from the asylum for so long. I'm also trying to find out about the police progress in searching for Alice."

"Newsflash, they haven't found her..."

Alice sighed. Even when she was so far away from that place it still followed her. Would Matthew always worry about that place when she was around? Would she never be truly free? "Can we go home now? The wig really itches."

"Sounds good to me," Matthew said as he pushed his phone into his pocket.

"Sure thing!"

Alice stood and took one last look at the mall. She let her eyes scan the people then started out with the boys. Once more, she itched her head.
