Turns out she had been as unnoticed as she thought. She was sitting in the tavern near her home, when some fire navy soldiers came in. They were holding up a wanted poster asking if anyone had seen the one on it. The face on the poster was a mask. A mask that was all too familiar to Amaya. Her eyes grew wide and she nonchalantly got up and left the tavern. She went home and thought of the possibilities of who could have squealed on her. Her thoughts were interrupted by a pounding at the door and then the knocking down of the door. She turned to see Fire Nation soldiers. She went quietly. They bound her in chains and took her weapons, but left the mask. She was taken to a prison in the middle of a boiling lake in a volcano. When the warden came he looked her up and down. "So you're the famous Dark Spirit," he said. Amaya looked him in the eyes. "Yes I am," she said defiantly. "Do you not believe a fourteen year old has the heart to kill?" "You're a defiant little girl," said the warden. "But here at The Boiling Rock we'll soon break you of that." Amaya stared straight into his eyes. “Like Hell you will,” she spat back. The warden smirked and nodded. She was taken to a small cell thrown into it and her bound removed. The cell door was locked and she was left alone, but for the guards passing her cell every so often and glaring at her. One of the guards sometimes gave her look that was a mixture of admiration and disdain. The prisoners were all let into the courtyard and Amaya was soon surrounded by a group of large muscular men. "So," one of them said. "What's little girl like you doing in here?" "Yeah you're a little young to be considered a dangerous criminal," said another. "I'm more dangerous than you know," Amaya replied. The men laughed. "Really?" asked one. "Then let’s see how dangerous you really are." He took a stance and shot a few blasts of fire at her. She dodged them and they struck another guy. She took a breath, stretched out her hand and with a flick of her wrist; her opponent was on the ground. She took a step and flames shot across the ground toward him. A guard stepped on the stream of fire and it was extinguished. The guards put Amaya's hands behind her back and led her away. "Firebending is not allowed here," they said. "It's punishable by the cooler" They pushed her into a small room. It was very cold. "The warden will be here in awhile to have a little one on one chat with you," said a guard. Then they closed the door and locked it tight. She soon became very cold, but it didn't bother her. She sat cross legged and began to meditate. She was jerk from her meditation by the door to the cold room opening. She looked up into the face of the warden. "Well you got yourself into trouble quickly," he said. "You're a feisty one. You got into a fight mere minutes after being let out of your cell." The warden chuckled. "Looks like you'll be spending a lot of time in here." Amaya smiled. "Very well then." The warden seemed to be getting frustrated. "I will break you, no matter what. You will break here, by my hand." With that he left, slamming the door behind him. Amaya returned to her meditation...... She was let out of the room eventually. As she was taken out of the room she heard the guards whispering to each other. "This girl is so creepy," said one of them. "She wasn't even shivering any of the times she was checked." The other nodded.... The next time Amaya was let out of her cell and into the courtyard, she was surrounded by the same group of muscular men. This time they were staring at her in amazement. "What?" she asked, when she noticed their stares? "You were in the cooler for a week," the one that attacked her said. "And we heard that you weren't affected by it at all." Amaya still didn't get what was so great about it. "So what?" she asked. "Most firebenders can't stand such low temperatures," he explained. "And most can't bend for about a week after being in there." "Oh," Amaya said. She was never attacked by those men again.....
In the courtyard Amaya was leaning alone, when she noticed a girl a little older than her leaning nearby. Her Raven hair was long and her bangs partially covered her brown eyes. She looked lonely and depressed. Amaya went up to her. "Hello," she said. "Hi," replied the girl. The girl looked at Amaya. "You're that kid that survived a week in the cooler," she said. Amaya nodded. "Yeah," she said. "I'm Amaya." "I'm Mai," said the depressed looking girl. "What are you stuck here for?" "I'm the Dark Spirit," Amaya replied. Mai looked her up and down. "A little young to be an assassin aren't you?" she asked. "I enjoy my job," Amaya said. Mai smiled slightly. "I kinda like you," she said. Then they had to return to their cells. Amaya went, once more, into deep meditation. She spread out her awareness to the outer wall. She was trying to figure out what it was made of. It seemed to be a mix of metal and rock. She smiled. She knew what she was going to do. The warden suddenly came into her cell. "It seems my niece has taken a liking to you," he said. "Who's your niece?" Amaya asked. "Her name is Mai," the warden replied. "Oh," said Amaya. Some guards entered. They guided her out of the cell. "My niece asked if you could be moved to the cell next to her," the warden told her, noticing that she was confused. She taken down to the cells on the ground floor and pushed into one. She noticed there was a vent in the cell, unlike her other cell. After the door was locked and the guards gone Amaya heard Mai's voice come through the vent. "Hey, Amaya are you there?" she asked. "Yeah," Amaya replied. "Why did you have me moved here?" "You're planning an escape aren't you?" she asked. "Maybe," Amaya replied. "Why?" "I want in," Mai said. "Ok," Amaya said. She told Mai her plan and they agreed to start the next night...... The next night, Amaya woke near midnight. She waited quietly by the door to her cell till a guard with keys was nearby. She used her bloodbending to move him to her cell and unlock it. She got out and knocked him out. She shoved him into her cell and locked it behind her. She unlocked Mai's cell and then they began to head to the wall. "Wait," Amaya said. "What?" Mai asked. "Where's the warden's office?" Amaya asked. Mai pointed to the tower along the wall. Amaya smiled. She loved to climb. "Why do you want to know?" Mai asked. "I made my weapons by hand I don't want to have to go through the Hell that I had to go through to get the materials to make them again," Amaya explained. "Meet me by the eastern wall," she told Mai. Mai nodded and they parted. Amaya launched herself at the tower and caught hold of the wall. She climbed to the window of the office quickly and slipped in. It was empty. She saw her weapons and strapped them on. She slipped out as quickly and headed to the eastern wall. Mai was waiting for her. "Nice sword," she said. Amaya nodded. She took a stance and earthbended a tunnel under the wall. When they exited the tunnel they were on the edge of the boiling lake. "Ok," Mai said. "How do you plan to get across this unnoticed?" Amaya smiled. "We aren't going across it," she said. "We're going through it." She created a path way through the water and then made it a bubble. They traveled like this across the bottom of the lake and came up to the other side. They climbed the wall of the mouth of the volcano and slid down. "Do you know where you'll go?" Amaya asked. "I have some connections in the capital," Mai said. "How about you?" Amaya grinned. "I'm gonna go back to doing what I do best." Mai left. Amaya whistled and Draco came flying to her. She mounted him and they flew away, out of the Fire Nation, to the Earth Kingdom. She landed outside the large walls of the city Ba Sing Se. She went to the gates of the city and presented a passport. She was allowed in. She chuckled. *I knew the forged passport would come in handy someday,* she told her dragon through thought. Draco didn't answer. She knew he was sleeping. It had been a long journey to Ba Sing Se. She made her way to the upper ring of the city and knocked on the door she was looking for. The door was answered by a young boy with an arrow tattooed on his head. "Hello," he said. "Can I help you?" Amaya nodded. "You are the Avatar correct?" she asked. The boy nodded. "Yes," he said. "I am too," said Amaya. The boy looked stunned. "How?" the boy asked. "I don't know," Amaya replied. "But I thought it would be interesting to meet you." The boy still seemed not to believe her. "Prove it," he said. "Ok," she replied. She took a breath and created a ball of air and balanced on it as it moved around. While doing so she created obstacles of earth to move around. She sliced them with whips of water and ended with a couple fire blasts into the air. The boy watched in amazement and three other people came out of the house. "Who are you?" asked the boy. "My name is Amaya," she said. One of the people behind the boy came forward. "I recognize your voice," she said. Amaya smiled. "I believe you hired me a while back," she replied. "You're the assassin?" the girl asked. Amaya nodded. "Now that you've seen my face and know who I am you must swear an oath of secrecy," Amaya said. They all swore an oath in a language they did not understand. An ancient tongue that would not allow them to go back on their oath. They let Amaya stay the night, but in the morning she left. She found a small apartment in the middle ring of the city and she began hanging out in taverns and inns again..........
