Chapter One: Troubles and Help from a friend.
Brown eyes looked through her window as she looked at the rain drops. She traced some of them with her fingers as he noticed the way they trailed down not in a natural line. Hilary sighed; her parents had been out for the last three days. She was left alone inside fending to herself, that wasn't what was bugging her it was that they had left her for so long, they never done that before in case something happened to her. Hilary looked back around the empty bedroom of pink and purple wondering what was happening at the Granger Dojo at the moment. They wouldn't be doing anything and not inviting her would they? She ran her hand through her brown hair. She walked down the stairs to her living room. No her parents weren't back yet, they hadn't even rang her to see what she was doing or how she was. Curiosity had gotten the best of her as she reached for her white coat hanging on her coat hanger. She dragged it on grabbed her umbrella and walked out into the rain.
Inside the Granger residence, Tyson had a party on and there where about three other teams there, one the Chinese team, The White Tigers, the other the American team, the All Stars and the last the Saint Shields. Ray was talking to the pink haired Neko-jin, Mariah. Max was sitting next to The All Stars, Tyson was talking to The Saint Shields and Kai was leaning against the wall.
"Have you not forgotten to invite someone, Tyson?" Ozuma, the redhead from the Saint Shields asked. Tyson shook his baseball covered head. "Are you sure?" Tyson didn't know if he had.
"Um… so where is that girl that usually hangs around with you guys?" Joseph asked. Tyson's eyes widened, Hilary!
"Oh my god! Hilary!" He said. "What if she comes in and notices that I never invited her!! I'm dead!" Everyone was now looking at the boy who was jumping around flailing. Max laughed. Ray just stared and Kai only ignored. "Ray, can you go and get Hilary say that I forgot to get her?" Ray stood up but Mariah pulled him back down.
"Won't you stay with me, Ray?" She asked. "Please."
"Mariah. It's alright, Ty. I'll go get her." He said getting back up realising himself from Mariah's grip.
Hilary was just walking over the bridge. She was going for a walk before she went to Tyson's, maybe a good idea. She really didn't want to go in there now. The rain had now stopped but even with her umbrella she was still partly soaked. Hilary sighed, what if anything had happened to her parents. Hilary stopped in her tracks. Of course they were okay, they were adults and sensible at that. She continued her walking and knowing that she was feeling a little perked up.
"Maybe I better get to Tyson's before it starts raining again." She said to herself looking up to the sky.
Ray had been to Hilary's house and she wasn't in. Neither were her parents. He thought that they might be out so started to head back. He ran a hand through his soaked raven hair. He turned gold cat-like eyes up to the sky when it started to rain again. He sighed and walked on. He was already soaked so he decided not to run.
"Ray." Hilary called to him after seeing him. He turned to Hilary. He smiled. "What are you doing out in this?" Ray laughed.
"I was going to get you. Tyson's having a party and forgot to collect you." Hilary smiled and nodded.
"I see." She said. She lifted up her umbrella. "Come under then." She said. He walked under her black umbrella. "You're already soaked though." She laughed.
"You're not perfect either, sweetheart." He laughed. She winked.
"I never said I was." So with that the two teenagers walked back to the dojo and the party.
Mariah wasn't dancing because she was waiting for Ray to come. She looked to Tyson and growled.
"Why couldn't you have sent, Max? Now I can't dance." She said. Tyson shrugged.
"You could always dance with, Kai." Tyson joked. Mariah though didn't think that was funny. She looked over to Kai who was still leaning in the same spot on the wall. "Sure he'll say he would."
"Right…" Sarcastically Mariah replied. "So Kai, you dance?" She asked. He got up from the wall and walked to the dance floor.
"I don't really dance, but if it keeps you quiet." He said. Tyson laughed. Where did Ray get to anyway? Tyson went and called some girls from the school to come so that they could get to dance. There were only going to be at the least three and most four if Hilary came.
"Were do you think they are anyway, Tyson? He's been away, ages." Max said. "Alright, fifteen minutes." Emily had told him, fifteen minutes but the answer came when the door opened to Ray and Hilary walking in. Tyson laughed at the state of Hilary soaking wet. But if you want the truth, Ray was worse. Hilary's glare though shut Tyson up. Ray walked into the other room when Hilary walked up to Tyson at the buffet table.
"So… a party huh, does you grandfather know about it?" Hilary asked. Tyson had to lie since he didn't know about it.
"Yeah, he suggested it." Tyson lied.
"So where is he?" She asked but Tyson walked off leaving her in a huff until something was wrapped around her shoulders giving her a fright. She turned back to see Ray with the towel. "Thanks."
"Ignore him. You're here to have a good time." He said. She nodded and smiled. She went and sat down on a chair alone.
Mariah turned to see Ray. She smiled and ran over to him.
"Hey." She said. "What's up?"
"Nothing's up." He replied. "I'm gonna sit down for a minute, you go and dance again." He walked over and sat down next to Hilary. She was drying of her hair. She was trying to get it in its usual state but she couldn't because it was wet and lay down straight. (I was just wondering what Hilary would look like with straight hair.) She fussed for a minute before pulling her LONG fringe behind her ears. Ray laughed again and sat next to her.
"Nice, hairdo." He said. She placed her chin on her hand.
"Funny." She said.
"I meant it." He replied as she mentally hit herself. How could she have said that? "You gonna be dancing?" She looked at him.
"I don't know… I'll think about it." She said. Ray smiled. He nodded. Mariah though wanted to dance with Ray but he wouldn't and she thought maybe if she flirted with Kai that Ray might get jealous.
Mariah looked to Kai and smiled.
"So, how is the world champion doing?" She asked him. He just looked at her like she was weird. "Okay. Kai, will you dance with me again? The next song maybe?" She asked. He nodded. She nodded. Ray hadn't even looked over to them. The next song began to play; it was Careless Whisper by George Michael. Ray looked to Hilary.
"You thought about it yet? It could be too late." She smiled and stood up. He took her hand for some reason and led her to the dance floor. "Ready?"
"Born ready." She joked when he placed his right hand on her waist and kept her right hand in his left. Hilary placed her left hand on his shoulder as he started to lead the dance….
