Battle of the Beybladers!
Hi all.
Summary: It's a natural fact of life: girls will side with girls, and boys will side with boys. Because of this, a contest begins between the guys and girls of beyblading at Reedington High. It's a battle of will, determination, pranks, wits, smarts and the ability to outwit each other, and the teachers. What will be the result you ask; complete and utter chaos. The food fights shall live, the teens shall prank each other and the teachers will go crazy just trying to figure out who did what as the ultimate school war begins to discover who's better. Chapter 1: The Battle Begins
At Reedington High, all the birds are singing and students are happily talking in between the corridors. Teachers are arriving and a new day is beginning. All is well, and the school seems to be orderly and calm-
“YOU BIG IDIOT!” Damn, spoke too soon.
The brown haired girl with brown eyes screamed at the smirking boy.
She was short, yet had a fiery temper that could be triggered easily. However, she was a good strategist and was always careful in her battles. Her hair was layered and most of it was tied back up into a very long ponytail, but her long fringe hung over her face, held up by a headband secured around her forehead.
The boy she was shooting death glares at had dark blonde hair that stuck out in all directions, and his eyes were narrowed and a deep sapphire blue. He was at least about a good head taller than the girl and his attitude could be really something that bugged you big time. Matt narrowed his blue eyes and smirked at Steph in return.
“Sheesh, I knew that you were scared of spiders, but I didn't know that you were THAT scared. Whimp.”
“Just shut up!” Steph snapped at him, before stomping down that hallway. At that current moment angry thoughts were running through her head and she glanced at her heavy bag. `Why that dumbass idiot… let's see… I can still get him from here… if I throw my bag at him (yes, the same one which he put that goddamn, disgusting THING in) I'd probably give him a cracked skull… which would be good revenge for what he just did to me…' She lifted her bag with one hand and aimed. But a sudden thought stopped her. `Wait a minute… if I crack his skull… I'd have to pay for the hospital bill, and that sucks, because then I'd be wasting both money and energy. Nah, I'd better just save him for a water fountain or something.'
She lowered her bag, before slinging it back over her shoulder with a loud `umph'. Suddenly, she noticed two figures standing in a doorway in front of her.
One was peeking out from behind the hinges and was a brown haired girl with hazel eyes. Her hairstyle was very similar to Steph's, seeing as though the two of them were cousins. She could be very persistent, and never looked before she leapt; yet she always knew her limits.
The other girl was casually leaning across the wall. She had black-red streaked hair and dark crimson eyes that always seemed to narrow easily. She was taller than both Steph and the other girl; yet, she too had a quick temper. Her resolution to everything that bugged her always seemed to be something around `break their bones' or `just stay calm'. However, she always managed to have a knack for solving things.
“Uh, Steph…?” The brown haired girl started.
“What!” Steph shouted at her. Becky recoiled and whimpered. Kitsune raised an eyebrow at her friend.
“Alright, what's going on?” she asked in an even tone.
Steph muttered something under her breath as she glared at her cousin and friend.
“That little, lying, sneaky, bastard of a weasel…”
“Oh, so this is about Matt from this morning?” Becky interrupted. Steph snapped.
“Of course it's about that IDIOT!” she screamed. Becky whimpered again.
“Alright, I don't exactly get what's going on…” Kitsune said. Steph shot a death glare at her friend.
“You don't need to know.” She replied angrily.
Flashback…
“Am I late?” Steph asked Becky as she entered the room. Her cousin turned as Steph thankfully dumped her bag onto her desk.
“Nah.” Becky replied. “Just early.” She looked at Steph curiously. “What? Did your alarm clock break or something?”
“Uh…No…” Steph replied, fiddling with her thumbs nervously. Bec raised an eyebrow at her. “Well…Sorta.” Steph added with a quiet voice.
“Spill it.” Becky commanded.
“Well…” Steph explained, “You know how I always seem to wake up later than you guys?
“Yeah.”
“Well, this morning, when you had already gotten up and left the room…” Steph continued, “My stupid alarm clock wouldn't shut up for the ten millionth time…and…so…”
“And so?” Becky repeated.
“And so I sorta decided to get rid of that blasted alarm forever.” Steph laughed nervously. “So I picked it up with one hand and threw it at the wall…and…”
“And?”
“And it sort of…well, it kinda `rebounded' off the wall, and headed straight back towards me. And so in a gallant act of self defense, I whacked it with my fist and… well… it sorta rebounded off that and… kinda smashed into your bedside lamp, and… they both shattered into pieces!” Steph finished sheepishly.
“STEPH!”
“I couldn't help it! It was an act of self defense!”
“I don't give a damn about your self defense! That was MY lamp!”
“Hey, Steph!” Their teacher, Ms. Mackenzie called from the other end of the room. Steph grinned at her before turning back to Becky.
“Sorry, Bec, but the teacher's calling me so I gotta go!” Steph yelled before running off.
“Steph!” Becky called angrily. She sighed. “That idiot…” She quickly followed after her cousin. A blonde haired figure snuck towards Steph's bag and slipped something in before snickering and sneaking away. Becky noticed him.
“Oh, hey Matt.” She glanced at him, “Whatcha doing…?” However, instead of responding to her question, Matt grinned and put a finger to his lips, making a `shhhh' noise, before walking off to watch from a safe distance.
“Okay, I've gotta see this.” Becky grinned. Seconds later, Steph returned and turned to her bag to unpack. After pulling out a few books however, she felt something strange at the bottom of her backpack, and stared down into the blackness to see what it was. Two red eyes and yellow fangs gleamed back at her.
“AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
The whole classroom shook. Becky and Misty ran over worriedly.
“What's wrong?” Misty asked.
“Are you alright?” Bec questioned.
“It… a… .the… s-sp-spi-“
“Huh?”
“SPIDER!” Steph screamed again.
`You mean this thing?” a third voice asked. They turned to see a boy with gray and dark navy hair with violet eyes. He was another one of those people who managed to keep their emotions well hidden. Always stay calm, never freak on anything. If you show others what you fell you're weak. Yep that's his way of thinking all right. However, it is okay to wander away from those rules every now and then. Kai held up a plastic spider.
“You mean… that… it…” Steph blinked in confusion as her friends burst out laughing. She turned to see Matt snickering in a corner of the room. “MATT!”
End Flashback.
“And that's what happened.” Becky finished.
“Okay…” Kitsune glanced at the sulking Steph. “You're scared of `spiders'?”
“Shut Up!” Steph glowered at her friends. “Spiders are scary! They're BIG and HAIRY!” She shuddered. “Plus they have EIGHT LEGS and HUGE FANGS and a COUPLE MILLION EYEBALLS! And they can KILL you! It's ABNORMAL!” Steph added whimpering. Kitsune sighed at her friend.
“Steph, not all spiders are deadly.”
“That one was!” Steph responded defiantly.
“That one was plastic.” Becky replied, with a sigh. Really, how could her cousin be so stupid when it came to spiders?
Kai walked up to the three girls. “Still pissed about this morning?” he asked coolly.
“Shuit Up.” Steph replied glowering at him.
“Shuit Up?” Kai repeated.
“It's a new language!”
“Oh really? Since when?”
“Since about two seconds ago!” Steph replied defiantly. Becky and Kai both sighed at the same time.
“Really Steph…” Bec shook her head.
“Don't tell me that you're scared of those teensy millimeter by millimeter measured spiders as well.” Kitsune continued. “You know the tiny little crimson ones that are about the size of a grain of sand?”
“B-but, they bite too!” Steph whimpered. “And crimson red is their warning colour!” She added, “It tells us that they're deadly and poisonous!” Becky put her head in her hands.
“Steph, Steph, Steph.” She sighed.
“What? Is there three of me here?” Steph retorted. They ignored the comment.
“Steph, those spiders are W-E-A-K. “ Kitsune spelt out the word trying to make an impact and explanation on her friend. “You try to even stroke those little guys and they get squished. It's like, here spider, spider, spider…” She mimed herself slowly reaching out to gently stroke a tiny imaginative spider with one finger, “And before you know it…” Becky made a squishy noise as Kitsune's finger made contact with an imaginary solid object. “You find red spider guts all over your little finger.” Kitsune sighed. Steph shuddered.
“But you shouldn't do that!” She whimpered, “The spider's guts could be poisonous! They're going to eat their way into your body like acid and devour you inside out!”
Rightt… So much for making an impact and trying to explain things.
“Now where the HELL did you hear that from?” A new voice interrupted. A boy taller than any of the girls stepped into view and stood next to Kitsune. He had dark navy hair and his amber eyes narrowed as he saw Steph. Another person who liked hiding his emotions, thinking they were weak. (Strange how so many people think like that) He had an extremely quick temper that was easy to trigger, and his attitude topped others extremely easily. However, he made up for this by always keeping his promises.
Steph glowered at him and sent him a death glare.
“Shut Up Mitsuru.”
Mitsuru's eyes narrowed further.
“Usually people speak to me with respect, Waterflower.” He glared back at her.
“Hah! In your dreams and in my nightmares!” Steph smirked. Kitsune quickly decided it was a good idea to drag Mitsuru away before he could utter whatever foul words he was planning inside his head.
“Mmf mmmph mm mmf!” Mitsuru struggled to shout, trying to lunge at Steph while one of Kitsune's hands stayed protectively over his mouth and the other held him securely in one spot.
“You're as bad tempered as ever.” She sighed. Becky snickered slightly before another person decided to join their group. Matt's hands slid over Steph's eyes blocking her sight and allowing her to see only darkness.
“Guess who.” He smirked.
Steph however, being in the pretty crappy mood she was already in, had a better idea. Quickly, her elbow flew back and landed itself hard in the astonished blond haired boy's gut. Matt immediately released his hold on her and doubled over in pain.
“Sheesh, that killed!” he gasped, breathing hard. “What the heck did you do that for!”
“Revenge, my dear friend, Revenge.” Steph smirked. “That was one heck of a mean prank you pulled before.”
“Yeah, but it sure was a good one,” Matt half grinned, half grimaced as he slowly looked up at her. “Admit it Steph, even you wouldn't be able to pull something that good.” Steph's smirk slowly turned into a small smile.
“Yeah, you've got a point-Hey…WAIT A MINUTE! Are you saying that I can't pull anything like that!”
“Yep.” Matt replied with a smug look as he slowly stood up on two feet again. “The best you girls could do is probably just tripping someone over.”
“WHAATTT!” Steph shouted in an outrage. Meanwhile, Becky and Kitsune were shooting death glares at Kai and Mitsuru who were nodding in agreement.
“Yep.” Matt finished, turning to walk away.
“Wait up Matt!” Steph shouted after him. Matt turned and raised an eyebrow at the three girls. “If you dare say us gals are that stupid…” Steph continued angrily. Matt smirked.
“Which I just thought I did - Whoa!” Becky's shoe missed him by a few millimeters.
“We challenge you to a battle of wits and determination!” Steph announced.
“In which you test your stamina, pride and your will to never give up!” Becky added.
“So, in other words…” Kitsune continued, whamming a drum roll on the nearby unfortunate lockers.
“This means WAR!” The three chorused.
“The War, which of course the guys are going to win.” Matt interrupted in a bored voice, skillfully dodging the second shoe (Kitsune's this time) that was thrown at him.
“Hmph. So it's us girls - us girls meaning me, Kitsune, Becky and whatever girlfriends we have situated in this whole school, verses you guys - you guys as in you, Kai, Mitsuru and whatever goons you can fish up from the big black depths of these grounds that you dub as your so called dumb-ass mates.” Steph said. They glared at the three boys; Matt, who looked smug, and Kai and Mitsuru, who just looked plain confused and who had decided to walk away and meet them in homeroom early.
“Yeah whatever.” Matt replied, turning to walk off after the two boys. “I accept your challenge. Just don't think that we're going to go easy on you, pipsqueak.”
“Rrrgggh! Pipsqueak!” Steph screamed, kicking off her shoe and throwing it at him too. “We'll show you, you blond-headed jerk!” Matt however easily, leapt over her shoe and continued on his way. All Steph could do now was scream curse words after him.
“You goddamn good for nothing bastard!” she yelled, causing nearby people to turn and stare at her.
“You know, he must do shoe-dodging for a hobby.” Becky whispered in Kitsune's ear.
Kitsune sighed and nodded in reply.
Matt was still looking smug as he walked away. “So she wants war, does she?” he muttered to Kai, who was waiting for him and staring at the strange behaviors of the girls behind him as he followed Matt inside.
Matt wasn't in the least bit scared that the girls could actually win this war. After all, what did he have to fear from a thirteen-year-old shrimp that could barely see over his own shoulder?
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Mitsuru asked.
“Yep.” Matt smirked. “She has no idea what she's gotten them and herself into.”
“If I come out worst off from this, it'll be your head on the plate.” Mitsuru scowled.
“Relax Mitsuru.” Matt urged. “Besides, what could they possibly do?”
He walked off smirking.
Kai shrugged. “I know I'm gunna regret this, but what the hell. Those three need to be put in their place.”
“Do YOU think this is a good idea?” Mitsuru asked him. The boy solemnly shook his head.
“No.” Kai replied bluntly.
“Neither do I.” Mitsuru sighed. “But Dammit! Once those two start something, it's impossible to stop them. And they just had to get us dragged into it too. Great.”
“Hey, slowpokes!” Matt called back at them. “You coming or what!”
“What…?” Kai paused.
“Sheesh, are you THAT slow!” Matt yelled back at them. “C'mon, we need to organize our troops!”
“Troops…?” Mitsuru echoed.
“Duh!” Matt yelled at them, starting to run off again. “It's a war!”
“Great. Just great.”
Meanwhile -
“Okay, this is war. We need a plan.” Steph stated, her eyes full of determintation.
Becky nodded. “Right. The first thing we need to take care of is the odds.” She said.
“Meaning?” Kitsune asked, looking confused.
“She means,” Steph began, ignoring the loud crash behind her from a bunch of students knocking over a filing cabinet. “That we need to make sure they don't have more soldiers than us.”
“Soldiers?” Kitsune asked.
“My dear Kitsune, don't act so surprised. This is war. What do both sides need in a war?”
“Erm…an army.” Kitsune guessed.
“You said it.” Becky nodded. “Okay, who should we get on our side?”
“They need to be smart.” Steph said.
“That cuts Becky off the list.” Kitsune mumbled.
“HEY!” Becky protested.
Steph ignored her. “They need to be brave.”
“That cuts you off the list then.” Kitsune muttered.
“They need to have a sense of teamwork.” Steph went on.
“That cuts Kitsune off the list,” Becky said.
“Shut up!”
“We're not cutting ourselves off the list, that's just plain dumb!” Steph snapped. “That's it. Meeting after school in the library. All female beybladers in years 7 and 8 to attend. Pass the message on to everyone Kitsune. Becky, we won't give you any hard jobs. We know your brain isn't cut out for the work.”
“She has a point” Kitsune agreed.
“Oi!” Becky yelled.
