Beloved Rei
"I am so sorry,Rei.I never meant to hurt you..."
It became impossible to hold back the tears that had gathered.Silently they fell,leaving wet trails upon his skin.He tried to surpress a sob,but failed.Hugging his knees he let himself cry for a little while.It would all be over soon anyways.His blue bangs fell into his eyes as he looked down.With trembling fingers he took the blade in his hand.This was the last resort.
"I am so sorry,please forgive me...",he repeated,even though he knew that his beloved couldn`t hear him.He got a lump in his throat as he rememered Rei`s face,those heartbroken eyes when he rejected him.
-Flashback-
"Guess who?"a familiar voice purred into his ear.His heart was dying inside.
"Dont touch me",he said coldly.His voice sounded strange in his own ears.The other boy tensed and withdrew his hands.Kai put on his mask and turned to face the neko-jin.There was a confused expression on his face,his eyes wide.
"What is wrong,koi?"he asked.There was a slight tremble in his voice."Nothing,I just want you to stay away from me".Rei`s golden eyes watered at the harsh words.
"What has happened to you,koi?"he asked,his voice barely a whisper.Kai flinched when he reached out his hand to touch him.He slapped the hand away and glared at him.
"Leave me alone".He felt his sould die as Rei`s tears fell.God,this was so hard!But it was for the better.He didnt want to drag his beautiful lover under with him.It was so damn hard to hold onto his cold mask.It was so damn hard to watch his beloved cry,to watch his heart shatter.Inside of himself he was crying too.
"Why are you acting like this?"His voice was thick with emotions as he spoke."Dont you....love me anymore?"
Kai felt his fists clench at the question.
"I never did.Leave me now",he replied harshly.He couldnt bare to watch as his beloved ran out of the room,tears streaming down his face.
-End Flashback-
He had never meant to hurt Rei.But no one should love a creature like himself.He wasnt worthy of such a thing as love.Rei was too good for a monster like him,such a heartless bastard.He had lied when he said that he had never loved him.He always had,ever since the first time he gazed into those two wonderful,golden orbs.Rei was such a vibrant and caring creature,capable of making his way into anyone`s heart.He didnt want to taint such a beautiful and unique being with his own darkness.
Placing the cool metal onto his skin he closed his eyes in shame.He gritted his teeth as he took the leap,stepping across the edge.Tha pain that surged through his body was indescribable,driving his closer to insantiy.He wept as the blood pumped out of his body,creating a pool around him.He squeesed his eyes shut so he wouldn`t have to watch.
"I am so sorry,Rei",he whispered.He was starting to feel lightheaded,his vision growing blurry.
Rei threw the pillow aside.He wanted to scream in anger,howl with self-pity and sorrow.What had he ever done to make Kai stop loving him?It couldnall have been a bluff,a joke.He didn`t understand.His eyes were red and puffy from all the crying.Rei had never felt as empty as this in his whole life before.Biting his lip he stood up.What had ever done wrong?Surpressing a sob he left the room.Suddenly his eyes were blinded,a sharp pain grabbing hold of his broken heart.He gasped for air and fumbled around for something to support himself.
"Kai..."Something was definitely wrong with his koi.Fearing the worst he ran into the bathroom,knowing that his koi would be there.His heart died at the sight that met him.His beloved was lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood,his clothing drenched in it.He was paralyzed for a moment,unable to move.As he regained his senses he sat down by the bluehaired Russian`s side.His face was so pale,so white that he looked like a ghost.His eyes were closed,his hands open as he remained still.Rei did not dare speak,fearing that his own voice might betray him.
Careflly he reached out a hand to touch his love.He was still warm,death had not fully claimed him yet.As Rei realised that his koi was gone he broke into tears,pulling the limp body into his arms.
"Kai..What have you done?"His hands were trembling as he stroke his lover`s hair,rocking him gently.
"You cant do this to me",he whispered sadly,sobs wrecking his petite body.He sat like that for ages,unwilling to let go yet.tears clouded his sight as her aised his head.It felt like his lungs were burning from the effort it took to breath.A single paper on the floor caught his attention,and he reached out to take it in his hands.His heart skipped a beat when he recognized the writing as Kai`s.
Beloved Rei
When you read this I will be far gone.
I am so sorry for hurting you,I never meant to do that.
Believe me when I say that it was for your own good.
You are far too beautiful and kind-hearted for me.
I lied to you by saying I never loved you.
I want you to know that I do love you,more than anything in this world.
You are my light.
I will forever cherish the moments we shared together.
Besides your forgiveness I only ask for one thing:

Rei shook his head,he couldn`t belive it,didn`t want to.Had his love killed himself because he thought he was unworthy of his love?The sorrow he felt went beyond words.
"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?"he screamed.The paper slipped out of his hands and fell to the floor.Rei buried his face in his lover`s hair,holding on to him.
"You have no right to do this...",he whispered bitterly as his tears blended with the blood.Rei didn`t care about anything.What happened from this point on didn`t matter to him.With shaky feet he stood up and walked out of the room,his face blank.hs dumped onto his bed and lay quietly while gazing up at the ceiling with empty eyes.He no longer had his light to guide him.
