Chapter 4: A meeting and a Dream

“What did you want to tell us ray?” Everyone except Bree was in the living room, looking at Ray expectantly. Tyson was on the couch with Max, while Kenny was sitting on a chair off the side with Dizzi on his lap. Kai was leaning against the wall in his Kai pose. Ray was standing next to a window staring out at the stars.

“There's this…prophecy that my village has.”

“Prophecy?”

“Yes prophecy. It goes like this,

The Chosen One Shall Appear,
And they shall hold the key,
The key to saving the world,
Or the key to ruling or destroying it,
Their power shall be great,
For they will be partnered with a powerful guardian,
They shall learn many things,
Both good and bad,
They will regain things lost,
And find things anew,
They shall be broken down,
And a life shall be threatened,
The outcome cannot be foreseen,
For it shall be shrouded from peering eyes,
In the end only one shall prevail,
Who shall it be?
The good? Or the bad?
Only time can tell,
Blood and soul are key,
For what you must find,
For it is important,
And in the end,
Only the light can lead the way.”

“Okay, but why are you telling us this?”

Ray turned to them. “Because I think Bree is the one there talking about.”

@!@ Back with Bree @!@

A girl of about 14 with black hair and white streaks with grey eyes stepped from the confines of the trees. She was wearing a navy blue top with boot cut jeans, ankle boots and wristguards. She smirked at her.

Bree stood up and tensed. “Who are you?!” The girl studied her for a moment before smiling. “My name is Tara Inringe.” Her voice was soft but it carried through the park like an echo. Bree relaxed just a bit knowing her name, but she was still tense.

Tara must have noticed so she smiled brighter to try and lighten the mood. “I told you my name, it would be rude if you didn't offer me yours in return.” Bree narrowed her eyes.

“Bree.”

“That's a nice name.”

Tara stepped forward, and Bree stepped back. “Don't worry. I won't hurt you. We just wanted to meet you.”

Bree raised an eyebrow. “We?”

Tara smiled and motioned to the trees behind her were another figure stepped out. She was about 16 and had long dark raven hair and dark midnight eyes. She was wearing black stiletto boots, black leather pants, a black sleeveless top with a jacket over it and fingerless gloves with a double belt that Bree noticed had a beyblade and launcher attached to it.

`Man, she really likes black.' Bree thought.

“You got a problem with that?” The girls voice snapped out harsh and cold. Bree was a little surprised that she stepped back. Had she spoken her thoughts out loud?

“No! I was just noticing that you wore a lot of black!”

“Oh.” Tara rolled her eyes. “Bree, this is Faith Winters. Faith, This is Bree, the girl we were looking for.” Tara introduced them. Bree nodded a greeting to Faith and Faith did the same. Tara noticed that they weren't at each others throats anymore and took it as a good sign. “Faith.”

She looked over to Tara. “Yeah?” “We better go.” Faith nodded and they turned and started walking away. “Wait! Were are you going?” They both stopped and turned to look at Bree. “Don't worry, you'll see us again.”

“What do yo-!” But they were gone. Bree growled in annoyance and turned back and started walking to Tyson's dojo.

@!@ Back at Tyson's Dojo @!@

Everyone stared at Ray.
“You think WHAT?!”
Ray winced at the volume of Tyson's shout. “You heard me.” He spoke calmly. Max spoke next. “But Ray, what make you think that Bree is the one in the Prophecy?” Ray turned back to look out the window. “I don't know. Call it a gut feeling, but I'm sure that Bree is the one they talk about.” They looked skeptical, but they accepted it.

“If she IS the one they talk about, what are we going to do about it?” Kenny inquired. Ray sighed. “The prophecy spoke of an evil that she's supposed to stop. I guess all we can do is wait for it to find her and then try to stop it.”

“You want to use her basically.” Kai spoke bluntly. Ray winced at the word `use'. “Yes.” Max stood up. “But that's wrong Ray! We cant do that!” Ray sighed. “I know its wrong, but it also said that she had a powerful companion. I'm guessing that this “companion” is her bitbeast. And if its as powerful as they say, think of what would happen if the bad guys were to get there hands on it.”

They fell silent at that. “So you see now?” Slowly, everyone nodded their heads. Ray turned to look at them. “Good. Now, this is what were going to do….” Everyone crowded around him and listened to his plan intently. Yes, even Kai let Ray play leader this one time. But just this once.

“I'm Back!”

Bree entered the dojo and took off her shoes. She was still thinking about the girls she had met. `I wonder what they want with me. I guess I'll find out soon enough.' She walked into the living room and noticed that everyone seemed a little….weird. “You guys okay?” They all nodded, but she wasn't convinced. She looked at them suspiciously. “Okay. I'm going to bed now, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Night!”

She heard them say goodnight to her as she turned around and left the room. She slowly walked upstairs and into her room. She changed into some loose baggy dark purple pants and a loose red tank top before getting into bed.

`This day has been so weird. First, I find myself who knows wear, second, I meet these two weird girls, and now the bladebreakers are acting weird! There hiding something from me, I can tell.'

Bree sighed. She closed her eyes and felt the world slipping away, giving way to her dreams. The last thought she had before drifting off was `My life cant get any weirder.'

-!-!-!-!-!-!-Dream sequence-!-!-!-!-!-!-

“Were am I?” Bree looked at her surroundings. She was standing in front of a huge building that just screamed evil. The place looked dark and gloomy. There was snow all around her. That's when she noticed the people at the gate in front of the place. They looked...oddly…familiar.

There was a little girl that had the same color hair she had. She was wearing a ratty jacket over a small t-shirt and pants. Next to her was a boy about a year older. She couldn't see anything about him at all. They were standing next to an older man whose face she also couldn't make out.

They were watching a car drive away with a woman of about 30 at the wheel. The girl was crying and was holding on tightly to the boys hand. The boy was also crying. The girl looked at the car one last time before turning away. She said something that was carried across the barren place by the wind. “Mommy…”

Suddenly, the scene changed, and Bree was staring at a small dank cell. In it was the same shivering child as before. But this time, all she had on a was a baggy white shirt and shorts. Both items of clothing were torn to shreds, blood seeping onto the fabric. Bree gasped in horror at the sight of all the wounds afflicted on the small child.

“Who would do such a thing to a child?”

The small girl whimpered. She lifted her head a little bit, but her face was shrouded in shadow. “Brother…” she whimpered pathetically. Something in the shadowed corner of the cell shifted. The young boy from before stepped out and crouched next to the young girl, pulling her into his arms and rocking her.

“Shhh, it's going to be okay.” She sniffed. “What did we do? Why do they hurt us?” The boy sighed. He only looked to be about five, but he was acting so mature. “I don't know Ratri.” Bree's mind jolted at the name. Ratri… It sounded to…Familiar. Were had she heard it before?

“The girl looked at her brother. “Brother, I wanted to know, why do you call me Ratri? It isn't my real name, but you always call me by it.” The boy smiled softly at her. “It's my nickname for you. It means night. It seem to suit you.” The little girl looked confused still, but she let it go.

“Brother, you'll never leave me, right?” He pulled his sister closer and whispered to her “I won't EVER leave you.” She looked up at him. “You promise?” He nodded “I promise.”

The scene changed again, and this time, she saw the girl in a pathetic excuse for a room, huddled in the corner. She looked frightened at something. Bree turned around to see what frightened her so much. (She had been facing her, her back to the room) What she saw was a very intimidating figure in all black, holding some type of weird pendant on a long silver chain in his right hand, and in his left hand a ball of energy grew steadily bigger.

The guy was chanting something in some weird language. Suddenly, the pendant started glowing. It got so bright that it nearly blinded Bree. The guy then threw the orb of energy at the little girl. Bree eyes widened. “NO!” She rushed to try to stop the ball from hitting the girl, but the ball just passed through her like she wasn't there.

The little girl screamed as the ball hit her. But instead of killing her, it slowly stretched until it surrounded her completely. The guy said a few more words, then the girl disappeared in a burst of light. “Be safe chosen one. And when the time is right, you shall be brought back.” The guys voice was strange, hollow sounding and old.

Then the guy disappeared. The scene around bree started to fade, leaving Bree in a sea of Darkness. Bree looked around frantically for a way out. “Hello? Were am i? What's happening?! Someone! Help!”

Slowly, the darkness began to cling to her, wrapping its way slowly up her leg. Bree tried to move, to do anything. But she was paralyzed. “HELP!!” Her scream just echoed around her. She was alone. The darkness was up to her chest now. She could barley breath. She was suffocating! Bree tried frantically to get loose, but her movements made the darkness cling tighter and tighter to her, squeezing the breath from her lungs. Just as the darkness was about to consume her and close over her head, a small beam of light came from somewhere. Then suddenly, she heard voices. “Bree! Oh god Bree! Don't die! You can't die! Bree! I love you! Come back!” She reached her hand up towards the light, as if it were somehow guiding her. Slowly, the darkness let go, and she started floating up the shaft of light.

She could hear the same voice calling out to her. She could also hear other voices. All begging her not to die. What was going on? Suddenly, she was out of the darkness, and looking down on a scene that shocked her. She was lying on the floor, with people surrounding her. Two of them were kneeling by her side, while the rest had formed a circle around her. She couldn't see the surrounding area, just the people.

Slowly, the her on the ground opened her eyes and smiled weakly at the people around her. “H-hey.”, “Bree!” All the people shouted. The two kneeling by her side had huge smiles on their faces, and the one on her right hugged her to them. “Don't you ever do that again. I don't think I could have bared to have lost you again.” The Bree on the floor smiled at him. “Don't worry brother, you should have known I wouldn't give up that easily.” He smiled “ I know.”

Then the other person tugged the Bree on the ground to them, burying their face in her hair. “Oh god, I though I lost you.” The Bree on the ground smiled softly at him. “You'll never lose me so easily koi. You don't have to worry. I love you to much to leave.” The person had tears in their eyes as they gently kissed Bree. He pulled back and looked at her with eyes full of love. “I know.”

-!-!-!-!-!-!-Dream sequence end-!-!-!-!-!-!-

Bree shot up in bed all sweaty. She slowly slid out of bed and walked over to the window and slowly opened it. She let the cool breeze in. It felt good on her hot skin. She closed her eyes before slowly opening them and staring up at the twinkling stars and bright moon. She had always loved the night. Her parents, when they were still at home when she was younger, had always called her a night owl. The was the moon seemed to out her in a trance.

She relished the cold of the breeze one last time before closing the window and slowly walking back to her bed. `What WAS that dream? Who was that little girl, and what did that last part mean?' She sighed as she contemplated this. She looked at the clock and saw it was 6:57 in the morning. She groaned. “I'll never get back to sleep!”

Silently, so as not to wake anyone, she made her way down stairs. She walked into the kitchen, and was surprised to see Kai sitting at the table with a cup of coffee in his hands. He only glanced at her before going back to staring at nothing. Bree decided to ignore him and made herself a cup of coffee also. She sat across from him and slowly took a sip.

“Do you always get up this early?” The sudden question surprised Bree and she looked over to Kai in surprise. He just had his eyes closed and looked like her didn't car one bit. Bree shook her head. “No. It's unusual for me to get up this early. The only reason I even GOT UP this early was because I had a…bad dream.” Kai looked over at her curiously.

Bree blushed and looked down at her coffee. She heard Kai get up and he softly left the kitchen. Bree sighed. `Well this day is off to a WONDERFUL start.'
