"Ah come on! I'm so damned hungry!" shouted Taoko as he stepped out onto the paved walkway that was just outside of the house Kai and Mr. Dickenson had just bought for the Blade Breakers. Taoko, as usual, had eaten the last diner out of food and was still looking for more. He wasn't sure if he could handle not filling up the bottomless pit that he happened to call a stomach. Rei, Max, Kyouju, and Kai followed in behind. They were all dressed up in their stupid private uniforms: white dress shirt, blue coat with the emblem of the school on it, khaki pants, and black shoes.
"Taoko, you are going to eat us out of every penny Mr. Dickenson has given us!" declared Kyouju.
"Come off it, Tao," said Max. "I don't think my ears want to hear that whining voice anymore."
"Then feed my mouth to shut it!"
"He does have a point, there," said Rei. "With his mouth full of food, he can't talk." Kai rolled his eyes and started off forward, his backpack slumped over his shoulder and he headed towards his 2004 Porsche Carrera GT Cabriolet. Rei walked up and got in the other side of the two-seated car. (A/N: HOT CAR!!!!!)
"Get in your car and shut up." Taoko growled and whined again, but eventually followed into his own Ford Explorer, with Max and Kyouju. Kai stiffed a sigh, not wanting any more from Taoko's endless talk. It was going to be the first of many things today. First day in the new house, first day at a new school, new students, new teachers, and new problems. This was going to be a long day. Rei could tell that things were going to be pretty interesting in their new home. Taoko started up his truck and mumbled how he was hungry. Max and Kyouju ignored Taoko and sat silently.
It was Mr. Dickenson's idea anyway, to send them to a new school and all. It wasn't like they had much of a choice. Everyone's parents, ex-nay Kai's, agreed with the idea of sending their kids to a new school, in Tokyo, Japan. Kai couldn't even tell why he was going with them. He didn't have parents to get the permission from. And thank god Voltaire was sitting in a jail cell, rotting away whatever he had left in his life. But all four of them were there. Hiromi didn't get the permission to leave for the private high school, Baraki High.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The school had a high fence and seven foot, stonewall that surrounded the area. It really didn't look like a place that was totally welcoming, which made the Blade Breakers cast worrisome looks towards each other. There was a lot of commotion going on inside of the walls, and a couple of kids were running into the open gate, while a few cars pulled in as well, that were occupied by seniors or faculty.
As they made their way into the front yard of the school, the Blade Breakers noticed Baraki was nothing like the schools back at their homes. This one had a large courtyard in the front, and plenty of trees and shady places to hide out. There was a large staircase that led up towards the main doors, and there were five buildings that made up Baraki. Around the back they noticed plenty of tennis and basketball courts, a track, and soccer and baseball fields.
The place was crowded with kids all talking about god knows what. A few times Rei could have sworn he heard a few kids talking about a school champion beyblade team. Then again, who knew if it was true or not. Over the past couple of years, beyblading had grown quiet popular, and more and more amateur tournaments were being held.
The bell let out a shrilling ring, which pierced their ears, and the herds of kids rummaged through the big doors into the school buildings. The Blade Breakers were left on their own to enter the rather large building in the center. Hopefully this was where they would find the office. But the hallways were so twisting and strange, and the signs that were pasted onto the walls weren't much help. It wasn't until Taoko ran into one of the last kids who were still running down the hallways.
Crashing down in a thud, Taoko shook his head, fixed his hat and looked at the kid he had run into. "Hey!" he shouted at her, but quickly bit back the words that wanted to ream into the kid. She was a average size girl with jet black hair that was held back in three clips, half silver half black bangs, and palish pink eyes. Her figure was slim and she dark blue blazer with the school logo on the upper left with a white shirt underneath. She has on a dark blue skirt that comes halfway down her thighs. She has knee high socks and black shoes. The girl also had five piercings on her left ear, and three on her right.
"Damnit. Don't people look where they are going anymore?" she huffed back at them. Rei held out his hand to help her up. As she took it, Taoko also stood up on his own and the two glared at each other for a few seconds. Max and Rei looked back and forth between the two of them while Kai did his infamous eye roll.
"Sorry."
"Well you should be," she said back at him.
"Do you know where the office is?" asked Rei. "We're new here." The dark head looked him up and down and did the same to the others.
"You are shittin' me!" she said sarcastically. "Just down the hall until you get to the staircase. It will be just up there and the first door on your right." With that the girl turned and walked down another hallway.
The boys followed her directions and made it right to the office, which was extremely large. There were three secretaries and like ten hallways that led into other parts of the room. They went up to the closest secretary.
"Yes, how may I help you?" she asked.
"This is our first day here. I'm Rei Kon, and that's Taoko Kinomiya, Max Mizuhara, Kyouju (A/n: don't know his last name!!!!!), and Kai Hiwatari." The secretary punched a couple of keys on her computer, after putting on her eyeglasses that were originally dangling on a string of beads.
"Ah yes. I have each of your schedules. I will print them up, and call for an escort. It is very easy to get lost at Baraki. Here you go. You're escort should be here to show you where your rooms are and how to get around," she said, handing them their schedules. Just a second later, a girl ran into the office, huffing and puffing to catch her breath.
"I'm here!" she puffed.
"That's Tsuya Kenshi, she will be your escort around." The Blade Breakers looked at the average sized girl. There was nothing special about her. She had curly black hair that came down to her shoulders. Her eyes were a soft hazel color and she wore a tan backpack on her back.
"Come on! I'll show you around." The Blade Breakers were right behind her, as they left the office. "I know who you guys are! You're the Blade Breakers! Oh my god!" The four boys looked at each other and back at the hysterical girl. "My little sister just adores your team. She watches all your battles and even got into blading herself! Wait until she hears you guys go to my school now! Damnit, where are my manners? I'm Tsuya. No need to introduce yourselves to me. You should watch out, Baraki has a blading team that dominates this school."
"Really," said Taoko. `No one's better than me. I'll take them on.'
"Yea, you will probably meet up with them once they get wind that you're here. And their leader, Suki, you definitely need to watch out for that blader." Tsuya took each of their schedules and looked down the list of their classes.
"Sounds like a challenge on our hands," said Rei. Taoko smirked and looked over to the energetic Max, who was smiling just the same.
"Well it is nothing that the Blade Breakers can't handle!" declared Kyouju. Tsuya shrugged and continued to examine the schedules.
"Well isn't that something. Rei and Kai, your first class is gym. What a thing to wake you two up! And you have Mr. Berkshire. Boy, that man knows how to run us into the ground. The gym is in a separate building. Taoko and Max, you guys get History with Mrs. Rubin. BORING! She'll put you guys to sleep. And Kyouju has Computer Science. Anyway. I'll take you guys to your class…"
Tsuya took them around the school, pointing out where they needed to go to get to their classrooms the quickest way, where their classrooms were and which buildings were for what, how to avoid being trampled, how to handle the teachers that they were assigned to, and how things worked there. First they dropped Max and Taoko off at their classroom, Kyouju to his, and then Tsuya took Rei and Kai to another building.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
They entered the building and it was just a gigantic gymnasium. There were four basketball courts, and a large area that was just a plain wooden floor. In one corner of it, a huge gymnastic set was set up and girls were flipping around on the bars. The classes inside were already going on. Everyone stopped their activities and the sound of a bouncing basketball echoed in the large room.
An old man walked over towards the three of them, and Tsuya whispered to them that that was Mr. Berkshire. She also whispered that they better not disrupt his class or anything that could possibly piss him off. Mr. Berkshire made it over towards them and his harsh glare came down onto them.
"What do you want?"
"Hello, Mr. Berkshire. These are two new students you have. Rei Kon and Kai Hiwatari. I'll be going to class then…" Tsuya squeaked back and turned on her heel the other way.
`Great,' thought Kai as he watched Tsuya run from the teacher.
"So, you're the new kids. Change up and get out here in five!" he said rather bluntly. Kai and Rei looked around the gym and it seemed that Mr. Berkshire was getting redder as they just stood there.
"Lockers are that way, Geniuses!" shouted a voice from behind them. Kai and Rei turned around and saw two girls. One who had talked was average height, had ruby gold, feline-like eyes, lavender and black triangular strips under each eye, and black hair with lavender bangs that fall into face and caramel highlights. Her hair was up in traditional Chinese buns on each side of her head, and tied off with purple ribbons. Hair is parted from left to right, and a few strands fall out of the buns to frame her face. She was wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts with white slip on shoes. The other was short, about 5'0", and had emerald eyes and long silver hair with a couple of light blue and light purple stripes in it. Her hair was up in a messy way, but her bangs stuck out and a few loose strands fell down passed her shoulders. On her right arm was a bracelet and across her right eye was a scar. She had on a white skin shirt, blue shorts with a few silver stripes on it, and white tennis shoes on. They were both smirking at them, and the two could only glare at the girls. Rei couldn't help but double take on the dark haired girl. It was like he knew her from somewhere.
Five minutes later, Kai and Rei were out and ready for their gym class. Mr. Berkshire nodded in approval of the correct amount of time they took to get ready. "We're over at the third court. Join the non-pennies and we'll see what you can do." They nodded and looked over and counted over towards the third court.
The class had been spilt up into two teams and it was almost like girls against guys. No, more like none of the girls were playing, and it was just the guys playing.
"What is going on here!" shouted Mr. Berkshire. "Get your lazy asses up and play some `ball!" A few girls jumped up, while the few that were on the court laughed at them. "Hiwatari, Kon. Get going!" Kai and Rei went onto the court and the other guys looked at them and smirked. The two girls from before were wearing pennies, but they didn't seem to want to play. They were both sitting down on the bleachers, the silver haired was listening to some music, and the black haired one was sketching something.
"Hi, there. You must be the new guys. My name's Rhianna," said a voice from behind them. Both Rei and Kai spun on their heels to look at the girl behind them. She was a small girl, only around 5'5", blue eyes, and platinum blonde hair. Her hair almost looked fake, but it was a little hard to tell. Her face was plastered with make up, but never the less, she was very hot. Rhianna couldn't help but bat her eyes at the two guys, who were mighty fine looking themselves (well, aren't they!!!!!????).
"I thought I told you to get playing!" shouted Mr. Berkshire. Rhianna, who was on the penny team, slithered onto the court, managing to shake her hips seductively. Kai and Rei were also thrown onto the court, and they started their game. The boys weren't too bad of players, but Rhianna wasn't the best. The only good thing that she did for their team was she distracted a few guys at times. But as one of the guys went up for a shot, he landed on another player's foot, twisting it.
Mr. Berkshire sent him to the nurse with the help of a few other kids. He looked over towards the bench and eyed the two girls. "Hikari! Get up and get in the game! Hikari… HIKARI!" The girl couldn't hear him through her blasting head phones, and it was her friend that tapped the silverette on the shoulder. The girl, Hikari, looked over at the steaming teacher and sighed, taking off her headphones, which were blasting a Vanessa Carlton CD, and turned it off. She walked over towards the court and took the boy's place. She eyed over Kai and Rei.
`So, they're here. Just as Sensei told me… I'll have to inform the others that we commence the plan as soon as possible,'' she thought. But then she noticed Rhianna eyeing over the boys as well, and she wanted to puke. `That slut. She probably fucked every guy in the school. Those boys are going to be in for a ride of their lives.' She could have laughed at her own thought.
Mr. Berkshire threw the ball at Kai and he started to dribble it down, and passed it to Rei, who then passed it to another guy, and they were getting closer to the basket. The pennies were on total defense and the boy managed to get around Rhianna (which was very easy), and shot. But it hit the rim, and landed in Hikari's hands. She smirked at a great idea, until Kai got in her way and tried to take the ball from her. She twisted around him and threw the ball at Rhianna. But the girl wasn't ready and the ball hit her square in the nose. Blood splattered all over her face and Rhianna let out a killer scream. Hikari put her hands over her mouth and pretended to care.
"Whoops," she said. Rhianna was giving her a death glare.
"You-You did that on purpose! You're such a… a…" she started, but Mr. Berkshire got between the two feuding girls. The neko-jin on the bench was keeling over as she continued to laugh.
"Rhianna, its just a basketball. It isn't going to kill you. Go to the nurse," he said and they all watched as the girl stomped out. `Two in less then five minutes.' Then Mr. Berkshire turned towards Hikari. "And you. That was deliberate. I know that it was. Detention. Today, after school."
Hikari rolled her eyes and walked passed Rei and Kai as she went back to the bench. She gave them a smirk as she passed and made it over to her friend. Rei and Kai looked at each other and both were thinking the same exact thing. This was going to be one interesting school…
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Taoko slammed his newly found locker with a clang. Tsuya was right; Mrs. Rubin put him to sleep within the first ten minutes of some stupid lecture about the importance of somebody or another. Taoko really didn't even know what she was talking about the entire ten minutes he listened. Something about someone helping with the dumb Cold War.
Flashback
Tsuya dropped Max and Taoko off at the room of horrors, and continued out of the building with Rei and Kai towards the gymnasium for their own class. Taoko couldn't help but remember how excited and enthusiastic her voice was when she first met them. It WAS kind of nice that they had someone who recognized them, instead of that red head who just plowed into him earlier.
Mrs. Rubin stopped the entire class and turned to greet Taoko and Max. It was liked they expected, no one really seemed excited to see them and Mrs. Rubin was quite boring as she had them introduce themselves to everyone in the class. It was the usual: tell them your name, where you're from, anything else about you… Finally they got to sit down in the middle of the classroom right next to one another. Right behind Taoko was a girl that had palish blond hair. Her cerulean orbs cast a quick glance over Max and Taoko. She wore the same uniform as everyone else, but she had her hair tied up in a high ponytail.
Next to Max was that same black head as before. He could hear her gag and noticed her eyes rolled, as she turned her head away from the boys and looked out the window. Her fingers tapped impatiently on the desk and she couldn't wait to get out of this class.
`At least I'm not the only one who feels like this,' thought Max as he eyed the girl from before.
`Oh great, Miss Bitch is here too. What, do I have a tattoo on my forehead that says "Beat-Up-On-Me"?' wondered Taoko.
`So two of them are in our class. I'm sure Yaoki noticed them. What am I thinking? Of course she did, that neko-jin knows the team inside and out. I know Suki will be glad to know that we have two of them close at hand…' thought the blonde.
"And so class, it all started right after the fall of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union, as well as the US, found some missiles in the bases of the Germans. They took some of them and did some tests, which ended up starting the Cold War…" Mrs. Rubin's dull voice rolled on and on as she was scratching all over the dry erase board.
`Good thing Kai isn't in here right now. Russia is probably the last place he would want to talk about,' thought Max.
Taoko started to feel his eyes droop as Mrs. Rubin went on and on, until he didn't hear any other word that came from her flapping lips. His eyes sulked back into his head and some how, Taoko managed not to fall into his snoring.
Max eyed the blonde for a second, and then the black haired girl behind Taoko. But as Mrs. Rubin started on about the Space Race, and the other nuclear factories that came because of the Soviets and the Americans stupid greed, Max noticed Taoko was knocked out asleep. A few times when the teacher turned and wrote something down, Max would throw a pencil at Taoko, until he ran out of them.
It wasn't until Mrs. Rubin turned around and asked if they had any questions, did Taoko stir and awake. Max let out a sigh of relief, as the teacher seemed oblivious to Taoko's attention span.
"No questions… OK, so then we'll continue-" but as she was about to continue, the shrilling sound of the bell rang signaling for the next class to begin. Taoko licked his dry lips and sleepily picked up his books. Max eyed him to wake up a bit more, as Mrs. Boring was watching him. The blonde next to Max quickly darted out of the classroom, almost knocking Max down, and the girl behind Taoko yelled (and I mean "YELLED") at her to wait up, and went out after her. Taoko and Max walked out and passed Mrs. Rubin, who kept her eye on them.
"I hope Mrs. Rubin's talk tomorrow will be better suited to your interests, Mr. Kinomiya," said Mrs. Rubin. Taoko and Max jumped out of the classroom. Tsuya picked them up and took them to their next classes. Taoko had Anatomy with Kai, Max had Gym, and Rei and the chief had Algebra 2.
Taoko entered the classroom with Kai to see that dark haired from the morning sitting with another girl who had long silver hair with a couple of light blue and light purple stripes in it. Her hair was lying down flat against her back, but her bangs stuck out and a few loose strands fell down passed her shoulders. She had plenty of silver bracelets on her wrists, a watch and soda rubber stoppers that were stretched out. Kai seemed a different when he saw her.
`Maybe she was in his first block class,' thought Taoko. But the two girls were whispering and the silverette smirked at both boys through her emerald eyes with plenty of mystery coming from them. Taoko sat down and tried to ignore the ever-coming stare from them. `Why is she looking at us like that? This is going to be fun…'
End Flashback
`Why did they call it the "Cold War"? Did they eat too many frozen foods? Or maybe that's when they invented ice cream. Nah, probably nothing as important as that,' thought Taoko. Rei and Kai came up to him, and Kyouju and Max soon showed up with Tsuya.
"Now where to?" asked Rei, tired of listening to the lectures that they went through during the last three classes. Tsuya could tell that they didn't want to go through another lesson.
"Well, its lunch time," she said.
"THANK GOD!" moaned Taoko, crumbling to the ground. "I'm starving!"
"You're always hungry," declared Max.
"I don't think Taoko can go ten minutes without eating! I'm surprised he survived so far," laughed Kyouju.
"So then I must always eat!" shouted Taoko.
"You do that Taoko," said Tsuya. "As long as you have the money to back it up." Taoko looked over towards Kai, knowing how fucking loaded the guy was. Kai knew that look and turned away from Taoko and closed his eyes, leaning against a locker.
"Get that shit out of your head, Taoko. I ain't paying for your stomach," he said. Taoko's face fell, but Tsuya proceeded to laugh.
"You guys are funny," she said. "Come on. Today is pizza day. At least it isn't Mystery day. That is tomorrow. So you'll survive through your first day at Baraki. Trust me. Don't eat what the lunch ladies make tomorrow. The last kid that did ended up in the hospital with food poisoning." The kids stopped dead in their tracks. (They were walking with Tsuya to the lunchroom all right?) She turned around and laughed at them again. "I was just kidding."
They made it into the cafeteria and it seemed like a good chunk of the school was eating. Tsuya explained that there were two lunch breaks. One was before third block, and the other was after. They had the "B" lunch along with her. Tsuya showed them how the "shopping" part of lunch worked and where they could sit.
"Never sit at an occupied table, unless you are called over. This entire school is split up into groups. There are the football players, the basketball player, and the preps; there are the nerds, the druggies, and other sorts of groups. You find an empty table, unless you are invited. Got it?" she asked. Everyone nodded, and walked over towards an empty table.
"What group are you in then?" asked Max.
"Oh, I'm in the non-group. I fit in anywhere, so I sit pretty much anywhere I want. Except at the Blading table," she said.
"Blading as in Beyblading?" asked Rei, before he took a bite into his sandwich. Tsuya nodded her head, and pointed back at a table that was occupied with girls. There were four of them and everyone recognized them. There was the black haired who bumped into Taoko, the silverette, the black haired neko-jin, and a blonde girl.
"Those are the Sirens. They are the champion bladers over there. The girl with blonde hair, her name's Clover Ashford. She's the newest addition to the group, and probably the nicest one there. The one with black hair next to the blonde is named Yaoki Liana. She came from some village in China, but boy does she know her shit," said Tsuya. Rei looked up at Yaoki and thoughts were ticking in his brain.
"The other black haired girl is named Vega Zahara. She is very quiet. I don't think I've really heard her talk too much." `Oh yea, she's a quite one,' thought Taoko. "Her best friend, Satsuki Hikari, the silver haired girl, she's the best in the group. Satsuki is more commonly known around the school as just Suki. She's quiet friendly, much opposite of Vega or Yaoki."
"Well," said Taoko in between bites. "I'm going to be the one who spins circles around her. She won't know what hits her." Max, Rei, and Kai all rolled their eyes at Taoko.
Meanwhile over at the Siren's table, Clover, over toward Yaoki, "That Rei guy, he looks a whole lot like you, no?" Yaoki's eyes narrowed and then she let out a smirk, resting back onto her chair and closing her eyes.
"You could say that," she said.
"So those Blade Breakers are here," said Clover.
"Thank you Captain Obvious!" stated Vega, rolling her eyes and biting more into her burger. Satsuki shot a glare at her best friend, but let her eyes settle onto the Blade Breakers.
"I was just saying-" started Clover.
"Just stop while you're ahead!" declared Yaoki. Clover pouted, but then turned on a cheery face.
"I must say they are hotter in real life as compared to TV and the pictures," said Clover, a small creeping up and over her lips, and licked away a little ketchup that was caught on the side of her lip. Satsuki rolled her eyes, and started to eat up her salad.
"You think anything is hot that has extra equipment between their legs," laughed Yaoki. Clover glared at her for a second and stuck her tongue out at her.
"Are we going to challenge them?" asked Clover, motioning over towards the boys. Vega and Yaoki shrugged and turned their heads over towards Satsuki, who was busying herself in her salad. The silverette obviously did not want to be in this conversation.
"So are we?" asked Vega.
"You should know that answer. I told you all of what Sensei told me. We can't let the Revolution get anyone. Today… after school. Clover, we're going to need you to initiate conversation with them. I'll join in, but it seems dear Vega as already gotten off on the wrong foot with them," smirked Satsuki. Vega crossed her arms and turned away.
"It isn't my problem Kinomiya can't watch where he's walking," she spat.
"No need to get huffy with me," stated Satsuki. "We need to stick to the plan. Nothing else matters but the plan." Yaoki eyed her best friend.
`Yea, and if the plan doesn't work, she's going to go into another depression fit. Damn her family, putting all the pressure on her during the years.'
Satsuki's emerald eyes met those of Kai's for a slight second. She couldn't tell what he was thinking, but she couldn't help but smile. But then a body blocked her view and Satsuki knew who that one person could be. His black eyes caught the ruby gold ones in a tight lock, and his dark red hair was set in its short ponytail. Clover couldn't help but smile at him. After all, the guy was hot.
"So, what's new, Yaoki?" asked Yukio Tekken, as he blocked her vision of the Blade Breakers. Yaoki glared at him, and venom shot out of her eyes. Satsuki got up and stood in between the two of them, her own glare harsh.
"What do you want, Kio?" asked Satsuki.
"Can't I have a nice little chat with Yaoki?" asked Kio.
"Fuck off," said Satsuki. Kio rolled his eyes at her.
"What are you her mother?" he asked. Satsuki was ready to jump and tackle the bastard, until Yaoki's hand hit her knee, holding her back from the assult that she knew was coming.
"What makes it a difference to you?" Kio let out a loud and hearty laugh, mocking Satsuki. Now Vega stood up, taller than Satsuki, backing up the short girl. Kio's face looked over towards Yaoki.
"Why do you hang out with these people?" asked Kio. Yaoki leaned back on her chair, arms crossed.
"As apposed to you?" asked Yaoki with a knife jumping out of her throat (you can image her wanting to kill him with her words).
"I was much better that night-"
"Fuck off, Kio. For the last time," snapped Vega. "You are lucky she hasn't filed a restraining order on you."
"And don't test us," maliciously stated Satsuki. Kio laughed lightly and then turned towards Yaoki, nudging her face at with his fist.
"Ha, ha, ha. You know where to find me, Kitten. You know…" he said. Satsuki slapped his hand away from Yaoki's face. "You want to pick a fight with me Shorty?"
"What you're afraid you're going to lose?" she smirked back. Kio's face flared up, and a bunch of the jocks got up and out of their seats, walking over towards them.
"Why, you-" He raised his fist and started to swing, aiming at Satsuki's face. But she didn't budge. But before he could make contact, a hand grabbed his wrist, holding him back. Kio looked back and glared at the dual haired guy that was holding onto him. His buds were surrounding them.
"Now, that is not very nice," stated Taoko, standing next to Kai who was holding Kio back. Kio growled and ripped his arm out of Kai's strong grip. Satsuki looked over at the Blade Breakers, and smiled at them. Yaoki couldn't help but keep looking at Rei, who in return was looking back at her.
"What the fuck do you know? Who are you anyway?" snapped Kio.
"We're the Blade Breakers. And it seems you failed manners back in pre-school," stated Max. Kio smirked and turned to face them.
"The World Champion Beybladers, eh?" he asked. "Well, that's interesting seeing as you are backing your rivals. The Sirens here are going to hand you your asses." Kai cracked his knuckles.
"And I will hand you yours," he stated. Kio growled, and Satsuki jumped around the table and stood between the two boys.
"I think that's enough for now," she said. "I think those stupid goodie-goodie freshmen went to find a supervisor." Kio looked down at her and then smirked. He backed away and flashed Yaoki one last glance. Satsuki turned towards Kai and the other Blade Breakers. "Thanks for that."
"No problem," said Taoko. "By the way. I don't think we were formally introduced…"
