Rei stared with wide open eyes at the curtains tied securely in front of the windows.

His orange eyes darted to the old clock near the window.

2.47. In the morning.

Rei's eyes twitched as he pulled the blanket and comforter closer to his body. Trying to hide beneath it, he raised it to the height of his nose. He shook slightly as the thunder continued to rumble. His breath was harsh as his heartbeat vibrated erratically within his rib cage.

“K-Kai.” Rei said softly as he shook in fright as he clung onto the strong figure. Kai groaned and mumbled as he began to turn around to see the shaking mass clinging onto him.

“What?” Kai rubbed his eyes slowly and ran a hand through his hair. He looked up to see the time and was met with a flash of lightning. “Ughh… storm.”

Kai's red eyes went down to the mass of black hair on his chest. “Rei…it's just a storm.” Kai rubbed his eyes and yawned before wrapping the blanket around both of their shoulders and bodies more comfortably. You can presume that this has happened before.

“Yo-u know it's not that s-imple K-Kai.” He huddled more towards him, “just be-cause… I want your su-support now… doesn't mean that I h-have forgiven you.” Rei said, trying to put back his ego and pride. It's already bad enough as it is.

“Hnn…whatever Rei.” Kai yawned again appearing very exhausted, but wrapped his arms slowly around his roommate, soothing the tense muscles in his arms.

The older boy began to feel his conscious stirring and his senses beginning to work again. He blinked slowly.

“Kai…sorry about this.” Rei whispered softly. His thumb felt the edge of Kai's shirt under the blanket and traced lightly over the circular buttons. His obvious shaking was beginning to fade slowly within the warmth around them.

“It's fine Rei… old habits die hard.” The smell of cinnamon and lilacs from the shampoo his ex-lover used a few hours ago rose and lulled his senses and tingled within. He shook his head, clearing the obvious growing past feelings and passions in his mind.

G-od…yes…old habits do die hard.

His crimson eyes laid down to the trembling mob of black hair beneath his nose. He sighed almost regrettably.

Thunder rumbled outside.

Rei, thinking that was a sigh of complete annoyance bit down on his bottom lip. When he winced as the taste the salty, red liquid overtook the minty toothpaste flavour in his mouth.

His eyes widened when he felt a familiar pair began to tenderly rub his arms around the brunet in a constant pace. Rei sighed in content, loving the sudden feel of warmth and security around him. Forgetting the pain of the cut on his lip, he slowly moved closer to his ex-lover, not caring about their past or present grudges.

Now can sleep…yawn…need…nice…sleep…

Kai's eyes softened as the figure in his arms calmed extremely like a … cat. Kai smiled at the memory.

Rei purred in deep satisfaction as the storm ended. His eyes fluttered closed.

“Now do you forgive me?” A deep voice said next to his sensitive ear. Kai looked down at him with one eye open. Rei snuggled closer and chuckled.

“Depends…” He replied slowly.

“On what?” Kai rolled his eyes, feeling the sleepiness of the night waning through.

“If we're together now…” Rei yawned and stretched slightly. At that, he turned slightly to see Kai's face with tired eyes.

“Hmmm… welll I hope that's a yes because …” Kai's words softened.

“Because of what …Kai?” Rei raised a tired brow. Kai sighed, knowing most of his dignity would be gone.

“Because … I missed you…” Rei smiled and chuckled.

God…I must've tired him out for him to be this open. Not like it's a bad thing. Rei sighed in content as the smile remained on his face.

“I missed you too Kai.” The lovers fell asleep in each other's arms.
