Morning in the Granger’s dojo was usually a hectic one; several different bladers all running around, heading off to do whatever it was that they did on the weekend, their time off. Currently, and quite surprisingly, Gramps had managed to drag Daichi and Tyson out of bed and was taking them out for a few hours today, doing a few errands that would no doubt take longer due to the two boys’ bickering and complaining.

Hiro was out on one of his little worldwide adventures, Max was visiting his mother in America, Kenny was at home trying to break in his new computer and Hilary was going to spend the whole day shopping with her mother.

So, only Ray and Kai were occupying the dojo. Kai was in the lounge room having only just got out of bed, her hair slightly in disarray and a sleepy look on her face. Not many people realized this, but Kai hated getting up early in the mornings, especially mornings where she was woken by not her alarm clock, but by an actual person.

It was actually a morning where Kai was awoken from a deep sleep that revealed her true gender to everyone. She was half asleep at the time and didn’t understand why everyone was gaping at her, until she actually woke up. Of course, she freaked out and locked herself in her room. It took a few hours of coaxing to convince her that they weren’t mad at her, but would like to know why she was hiding.

Slipping into the kitchen, Ray put the kettle on, he too still a bit drowsy from being half asleep, but thankfully, the two of them became alert quickly, so this sleepiness will disappear soon.

Pulling out a jar that he brought back with him from his village, Ray set about making Kai a nice cup of herbal tea, the kind that she liked. Letting his mind wandered as he prepared the tea, something he did every morning and did automatically.

“Morning Kai,” he greeted as he walked into the lounge room, tea in hand and placed it on the table in front of Kai.

“Morning,” she replied, looking a bit more alert than she was before. She looked down at the tea with a sense of gratitude and wrapped her hands around it, blowing on it a couple of times to cool it down before taking a long sip.

Ray gave a smile and was about to leave the room to start breakfast when Kai seemed to suddenly shudder, as if a chill raced through her body and Ray turned his eyes toward her in concern. “Is there something wrong, Kai?” he asked just as Kai gripped the table tightly with her hands.

“That drink,” she muttered hoarsely. “What was in it?”

“Er, let me check,” Ray walked into the kitchen and looked in the pot of herbal tea he made. Suddenly, an unfamiliar scent invaded his nostrils and his eyes widen as his stomach did a somersault. The herb he gave Kai wasn’t the one he had intended to give her. He wanted to help her to wake up, but the herb he accidentally gave her caused the opposite effects. This herb was intended to bring out suppressed sexual appetite.
