Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ I Never Knew ❯ Waiting For Someone to care ( Chapter 1 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

"Dad! I'm just not going to stop working! This finding is important!" Tyson pressed his palm against the door, "Besides, Hiro is really looking foreward to this."

"That's not my point hommie. You constantly do this and you leave the lil' dude alone. This has got to stop. Why don't you take him with you?" Tyson looked hopeful at this. The sixteen year old was looking foreward to this. His father spoke again and he pressed his ear to the door again.

"No dad. His schooling is too important and Tyson, being the ball of energy he is, would just get in the way. We need all the peace we can, this dig is very fragile." Tyson frowned and formed his hand into a fist. "I'm sure he'll understand dad. He'll get over it."
"There's going to be a day when he won't get over it," grandpa replied, "And when that does don't be surprised when you lose your son and you're brother." Tyson pushed away from the door for a moment. He came to the assumption that his brother was in there. He put his ear back to the door. No matter how painful it all seemed.

"Can you do us a favor grandpa? Can you tell Tyson we left?" Tyson heard a humph and the cracking of wood.

"No."

"No?" Tyson's father asked.

"No."

"Why? We could really use the help. Our flight leaves tonight." Tyson felt a knot in his chest tighten. "We can't-"

"You can tell him. I'm not going to be the one to the dude that his father and brother left again just as soon as they got here. You can be the one to tell him." Tyson heard footsteps come near him and he froze.

"You know," a voice whispered into his ear, "It's not nice to listen to other peoples conversations." Tyson turned around to see a smirking Kai but the smirk fell and the look on dual-haired boys face switched to one of shock and confussion. "Tyson?"

"What?" Tyson asked with a smile he held everyday, "I know it's wrong to eaves drop. I'll see you later at practice. Other kids have to learn to right." Tyson left and headed toward his room. Kai, curious, pressed his ear against the door for a moment before leaving. He heard nothing but silence. He left the hall to get a drink of water.

Tyson sat down on his bed and held Dragoon tightly in his hand. 'Why? What did I do wrong? What's wrong with me? They always leave and it's not fair! I didn't do anything to them but-sure I can be hard to handle but if they-' Tyson laid down on his bed and turned his back to the door. He heard it open. "Who is it?"

"Tyson?"

'It's Hiro.' The bitterness aimed at his brother, he felt, was uncalled for. Something harsher replaced it. Sadness. "What do you need?" Tyson asked as cheerfully as he could muster. Hiro didn't seem to notice the difference in Tyson and the darker haired man sat down on his bed.

"I just came to say goodbye."

"Why?" Tyson asked with a smile. 'Even though I know you're leaving again.'

"Dad and I are going on a trip. It'll be a short trip but we'll call you if-"

"Oh. Sounds fun, hope you have a good time. When do you leave?"

"In a few hours. Do you want to-"

"I have to go, I hope you guys have a good time." Tyson sat up and put Dragoon in his pocket, "I better go. I promised I'd meet Kai early for training. I was just going to get ready and you don't want to see this room after I'm done finding all the stuff I need."

"Tyson-" Hiro reached out to touch his brothers shoulder but he pulled away. "Tyson," Hiro shook his head and left the room. Tyson turned his back away and fell down onto his bed again.

"Dad! I'm just not going to stop working! This finding is important!" Tyson pressed his palm against the door, "Besides, Hiro is really looking foreward to this."

'You're always leaving' Tyson frowned. 'Everything is always more important then spending time with your son.'

'I don't care about school. I just want you around for more then day or a month!' Tyson felt tears run down his face as he tried to forget what was said but he couldn't.

"There's going to be a day when he won't get over it."

Tyson curled his hand in and out of a fist and concentrated his gaze on Dragoon. 'I'm not going to forget this! I wont forgive you this time!' Tears fell down onto the blanket. 'No. I can't do that. I'll forgive you but I wont forget. I never forget.'

"Can you do us a favor grandpa? Can you tell Tyson we left?"

Tyson glared at the wall with an intense anger and sadness. 'Hiro, you didn't even want to tell me. You just would have left! I hate you! Both of you!' Tyson knew this was the worst part of his life. He would have done anything to go but his father didn't want to take him. He was unwanted.

Kai sat in the living room with Max and Rei. They were waiting for Tyson and would have retrieved him sooner if Tyson's grandfather hadn't told them to wait for a bit. Kai stood and walked toward the bathroom but stopped when he heard Tyson's grandpa, Hiro and the brothers father talking. He knew it was wrong to listen in on them but he did anyway.

"How did he take it Hiro?" That had to be Tyson's father.

"I'm not sure. He just kept rambling on and said that he had to get ready for training with Kai. He said that they would be heading out early." Kai frowned. Why would Tyson lie about training? "He seems okay though. He'll be fine. We would take him with us but-" Kai stepped back from the door. So, Hiro and his father were leaving. Kai quickly headed to Tyson's room. He knocked and when no one answered he opened the door.

"Go away grandpa."

"That's not nice to say. Don't you know to respect your elders." Kai grinned but when the teen didn't reply back he became worried. "What's your problem?"

"Go away Kai. I'm not in the mood."

"Just because you're dad and brother are leaving again. That's nothing new for you." Tyson shuddered and stood up with his back to Kai.

"Yeah, they're leaving. What do I care right?" more shudders followed and he gripped the window ledge, "It's not like they werent planning on telling me. Well we should start training." Tyson left the room with a large smile on his face. Kai knew that something was wrong and he had to find a way to bring it out.

During the training Rei and Max noticed a change in Tyson. His blading had gone down a notch and he was more quiet then usual. Kai also noticed but was determined to hide his concern. "Tyson. That last launch was weak. Do it again." Tyson launched again. "That was even weaker. Again." Again Tyson launched. "Again." Over and over this was done until Tyson was worn out. He slumped down to the ground. "Get up and launch again."

"No."

"What?" Kai did a cha cha cha in his head. Tyson was fighting back. "What did you say?"

"No. I said no." Tyson stood and looked at Kai, "I'm going out. If you want me, I'll be back later."

Tyson found himself near the river. This was where he usually went when he was upset. He looked into the water and watched his reflection break and reform again. Sick of seeing his own sad face he splashed away the face and looked up into the sky. Figuring he should cool his nerves down, he laid down and placed his hands behind his head.

"If I had known you would be skipping training to do this-"

"Not now Kai. I'm not in the mood." Tyson frowned a bit. He could be himself around Kai but he didn't know why. He looked up and Kai froze. Tyson laughed lightly to himself and looked up at the sky. "They're probably leaving soon."

"Tyson?" Kai sat next to him, "What is it?" Tyson looked up, it was his turn to be shocked. "Look, I'm only playing the emotional game once so you better tell me."

"It's just...they're leaving again. My dads job is-" he stopped, "You don't want to hear this."

"I just asked for the whole story did I not?" Tyson sighed.

"It's just that...my dad doesn't want me to come. Apparently I'm a burden..." Kai watched a hollow empty look replace Tyson's normally cheerful eyes, "Ever since my mom died, Hiro and my dad have just...pulled themselves away. I know I have to but...they always just leave without saying goodbye." Tyson looked at Kai, "I hate that. I hate me for making them think that I'm just some stupid kid..."

"Tyson, you may act like your five but your in no way five and you've got a lot to offer." Kai smirked at him, that was as close a smile as you got out of Kai. "Do they always do this."

"As long as my moms been dead," Tyson frowned, "I miss her. When I was younger Hiro said we looked a lot alike. I guess that's what I miss." Kai frowned a bit and considered himself sort of lucky. He really didn't remember his parents. Tyson did however and the sad part was that Tyson remembered his mom strongly and his brother and father were always leaving. Kai felt a wave of sympathy spread through his body, and as it did he found himself leaning closer to Tyson.

The Tyson he saw before him looked sad and empty. It looked like he had more quickly then he should of had to. Tyson looked like had to grow more quickly though his grandpa had helped slow that process down. Kai kept his gaze on Tyson. He tried to avoid the feeling of warmth Tyson gave him but something kept his eyes peeled on Tyson. If it was the way the light shone on him or how deep his eyes looked. Kai felt he could drown in them if it were possible and if it was, you would never be able to escape. Kai moved foreward a bit, unknowingly and looked at Tyson a little more closely.

"Thanks." Kai snapped out of his trance and moved away.

"For what?"

"For being there." Tyson looked at him, "I just...I don't normally talk to people like this. Not even gramps." He looked away, his storm blue eyes fading from Kai's view. Kai felt jelous of whatever caught Tyson's attention but he was glad when Tyson looked back at him, "You're my best friend and I owe you a lot."

"I didn't do a lot really. You're the one who's saved me more often then not." Tyson looked at him and Kai closed his mouth quickly. He didn't mean to say that! "I didn't-"

"Of course you meant it. I wont tell the others you said that, and you've saved me too. More then you can think," Tyson lay back again and closed his eyes. "Kai...I-" Kai looked at him and felt himself fall into his trance again.

"Shut up." Tyson opened his eyes in shock and hurt, "You talk too much." Tyson sat up and frowned. He tried to stand but was held down as Kai pressed his lips against Tyson, "And as long as I'm with you, you'll never be alone." Tyson felt tears form in his eyes as he hugged Kai and kissed him back more passionatly. The kiss broke and both were left panting.

"Thank you Kai. I love you."

"I love you too. Ready to go back?" Tyson nodded and Kai wrapped his arms around Tyson and let him lean into his body. This is what Tyson needed now and he was going to get it. He deserved to be loved. "You know what else though?"

"What?" Tyson smiled at Kai.

"I need you too. More then you think."

"Then lets be there for each other. That way, when we both need a little help we'll always have someone to turn to." Kai nodded and kissed Tyson on lips gently.

"I love you," they both said at the same time.
