THOSE THREE FATEFUL WORDS
Kai and Ray ran. They ran fast. They had to save Erika. They had to make sure that she would stay safe. Ray loved her. He never had a sister and now he had to save her. Kai however, was in love with her. He never felt this way about anyone and he would not let his grandfather get away with this out rage.
"I can't believe I let this happen," said Kai.
"What do you mean? This was my fault too," yelled Ray.
Kai didn't argue. He knew that it was true. He and Ray should have known better that to leave Erika alone.
"Hey look up there!" yelled Tyson.
It was a tall grey building. The only road that had a tall grey building in this part of the city was the building on Rollin High Road.
"That must be were Erika is," said Max.
"Then let's get going. She must be saved," said Ray.
"If we don't save her now and she gets hurt than I will never forgive myself," Kai agreed.
Ray and Kai then ran ahead.
"Is it me or is Kai in love?" Hilary whispered to Kenny.
"You know it wouldn't surprise me," He whispered back.
(inside the building)
The Blade Breakers made it inside. It seemed too easy, but they didn't care.
"ERIKA! ERIKA! WHERE ARE YOU?" Kai and Ray yelled.
"Could you try to be a little quieter?" asked Hilary.
"We were suppose to make it in here without to much sound," said Kenny.
"It's too late for that now isn't it?" asked a shadowy figure.
"SPENCER!" hollered Kai.
"Good ole' Kai. How are you?" teased another figure.
"Ian I know that you here as well. Now you, Spencer, Bryan, and Tala better get out of those shadows," ordered Kai.
"Sorry dear boy, but while she's here I'm in charge," it was Voltaire.
"GRANDFATHER! How could you do this?" asked Kai.
"What are you talking about? I didn't do a thing," the grandfather was waiting for Kai to say those three words.
"Where's Erika?" Ray shouted.
"Ah, the infamous Ray. Your sister is safe, for now," Voltaire teased.
"I want to see that she is safe," said Ray.
"Alright," with a snap of his fingers, Voltaire was able to turn on a single spotlight.
There, under the light, was Erika in a cage.
"KAI! RAY!" Erika screamed. She never thought that they would actually save her. 'They're about to find out. They're about to learn that I betrayed them. I feel like such a loser' she thought. Tears then appeared in Erika's eyes.
"Erika!" yelled Kai and Ray. Kai ran to her, and Ray didn't follow for he knew that this was something Kai had to do first.
"Kai! I'm sorry. I truly am sorry," she whispered.
"Sorry? There's nothing for you to be sorry about. You didn't get yourself kidnapped. I have something to tell you," Kai whispered back wiping away Erika's tears.
"No you don't understand---" Erika was interrupted by Kai.
He put his finger one her lips. "Erika you have to trust me when I say this, I understand," and with that, Kai pressed his lips against Erika's lips.
"Awww. How touching," teased Voltaire.
At that moment, Kai let go of Erika. "Shut up!" In a more kind voice to Erika he said, "Erika I have to tell you something. I should have told you before but I couldn't. I was afraid but now I'm not. Erika, I love you."
Erika was in shock. She was an idiot. She betrayed the one boy she ever fell in love with and he loved her back. This was not going her way.
"Now isn't that funny. I'm surprised you love her Kai," said Boris.
"What are you talking about?" Kai asked knowing something was not right.
Boris smirked. "Erika betrayed you. She made a deal with Voltaire. All she had to do was weaken the two strongest boys on the Blade Breakers and bring them here. She did. Ray, Kai, the rest of the Blade Breakers, I would like you to meet our greatest link to you. Erika. She was to report information on your tactics and bring Kai back to our team. Just one question for you, isn't she just the greatest little actress?" he asked as he freed Erika from the cage she was in.
Kai turned away from Erika.
She ran up to him and pulled him around so that he could look at her. "Kai look. I didn't mean to hurt you. Believe me I didn't want this to happen not to you, not to Ray, not to anyone. I made a mistake. Believe me I meant what I said about having feeling for you because they are real. Kai Hiwatari I love you," Erika explained.
Kai looked her strait in the eye and then turned away. "How do I know that isn't a lie as well?"
Erika couldn't explain. She just was in tears. She couldn't say a word. "I'm sorry Kai. I'm sorry Ray. I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you," and with that Erika ran out of the room.
"Let's go guys. This place isn't dirty enough," said Kai. He and the rest of the gang turned to leave.
"Not so fast, you are to do battle," yelled Voltaire.
"No. We're leaving," and with that the Blade Breakers left.
Boris glared at the Demolition Boys. "Why didn't you stop them from leaving?"
"Because we saw something that we never knew about," answered Tala.
"And what was that?" asked Voltaire.
"Love," it was plan and simple. The Demolition Boys left the room leaving Voltaire and Boris thinking about what they had done.
