Chapter Two - Guess Who's Visiting?
Normal POV

"K-Kai!" Rei squeaked, stepping out from behind Jason. He looked at the two-tone haired man, and how much he had changed. He still had the light blue-grey hair up front, dark blue hair tied in a short pony tail in the back. His eyes were as red as ever, and the blue face marks were gone, but instead small oval glasses perched on his nose. He wasn’t wearing his scarf or baggy pants, but a pair of blue jeans and a loose purple t-shirt.

“That would be my name Rei,” Kai responded with a slight smirk. He watched as Rei’s face illuminated bright red.

“II take it you two know each other?” Jason asked. All he got was a nod from both Rei and Kai. “Ok, I’ll be upstairs in the bedroom then, if you need me.” That being said, Jason left the room after giving Rei’s hand a squeeze.

The room was filled with silence, as Rei put his weight on one foot clearing his throat clearly uncomfortable with the silence. So he spoke first, “So, Kai. How did you know where to find me?” Rei asked.

“I ran into a woman at the local Chinese Tea Shoppe. She told me that I came on the wrong day. That it was their best server’s day off. When I asked for a name, imaging my surprise when she told me your name. I mean as far as everyone’s concerned you disappeared around three years ago,” Kai explained.

“Let me guess, the woman who told you was Marci?” Rei asked, receiving a nod. “You haven’t told anyone have you?”

“Not yet. But you’ll have to tell the others eventually. Why did you run away in the first place?” Kai asked. Rei was amazed. He never heard Kai say so much in, well, never!

“Well, I’m assuming Mariah told you about the wedding that was suppose to happen?” Rei asked. He needed to know exactly how much Kai know.

“No, she didn’t. We found out you were missing when Mr. D called. Their was a charity tournament, and we were guest stars. But the village said you ran away. They refused to say anything else. But when we asked the White Tigers, they were the same way.”

“Figures. My dad probably kept the whole thing quiet by telling them,” Rei scoffed to himself.

“Telling them what?” Kai asked, making Rei’s face illuminate red again.

“T-that um....that I’m,”Rei struggled ‘OMG, how I’m I suppose to tell the guy of my dreams that I’m gay!’

“Let me guess, that you’re gay?” Kai guessed. Rei’s mouth dropped, how did Kai know that!

“You made it pretty obvious, I read it in your body language,” Kai told him matter-o-factly. “That and Bryan told me.”

“Bryan?” Rei asked with a blank expression.

“Yeah, Bryan. He told me that you were in a relationship with him for about a month or so. I was actually surprised, I know Bryan is, but you were the last person I expected to date Bryan. Especially after that first time you battled,” Kai finished saying.

“Really? Bryan told me he wasn’t going to tell anyone about our relationship.

“Well, anyway. I was suppose to marry Mariah, you remember her, right?”

“You mean pink freak?” Kai asked with a disturbed look on his face that almost made Rei burst out laughing.

“Yeah, well the day before the wedding, my dad was talking to me, well if you could call it that. And I couldn’t take it anymore, so I left.” Rei then explained to him about the village traditions and how everyone was a homophobic. After he was done, he noticed Kai studying him closely. Slightly blushing at the attention he was getting, Rei asked Kai what he was staring at.

“Hn, why didn’t you come to one of us? You’re teammate?”

“Oh, like I was suppose to walk up to you door and be like, ‘Hey Kai, it’s Rei. I’m gay and because of it, I was forced to run away or be married against my will. Will you let me stay with you?’”

“Why not?” Kai responded. Rei gave him an incredulous look.

“For all I know, you were homophobic too!” Rei shrilled, all of a sudden frustrated. Then all of a sudden something clicked. “Wait, you aren’t, are you?”

“No, I ‘ll even let you in on a secret,” Kai whispered, life dancing his eyes that made Rei shiver. Slowly Kai stood up, closed the distance between both of them and leaned into the neko-jin’s ear.

Rei’s knees started going weak, as he felt the warm breath being blown into his ear before any sound came. “I’m gay too.” Rei felt his face heat up and the hairs on the back of his neck stand at not only the closeness of his team captain but also from his small but big confession. Kai leaned away, reminding Rei that breathing was a necessary. Narrowing his eyes in determination, Rei silently observed Kai looking to see if he was lying. But Kai’s face gave nothing away. An awkward silence followed. Finally Rei let out a deep breath, of which he was holding.

“What brought you here anyway?” Rei asked.

“Vacation, actually. Mr. D payed for the tam to have a vacation, so we ended up coming here. I think it’s because not to many people seem to notice us here, so we don’t have to worry about fangirls as much.”

“The guys are here too? Where are they?”

“Either at the hotel or the amusement park. By the way, who was that man that greeted me at the door?”

“You mean Jason? He’s my boyfriend,” Rei responded slowly, almost cautiously. This was followed by another brief uncomfortable silence as Rei notices a strange glint in Kai’s eyes. But the moment it came, it left just as quick.

“You should come see the others,” Kai said giving Rei a piece of paper with the address on it, “Well, I must go. Otherwise the others are going to get lost searching for me.”

“Um. . . ok, bye. Wait!” Rei shouted with an after thought, “How long are you going to be here for?”

“We’re here for another week. Well, good-bye Rei.” After Kai left, Rei heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He turned around and gave Jason a quizzical look.

“I saw him leave through the window. What’s that?” Jason asked looking at the paper with the address on it. “H wasn’t he? Do you want me to go after him?” Rei laughed at Jason’s attempt to protect him.

“No, he was an old friend. He’s here with some others and gave me the address to their hotel room to go visit. Don’t worry,” Rei reassured.

“Good, well I have to go do groceries anyway. I’ll see you later,” Jason said before leaving. Rei blinked, that wasn’t like Jason at all. Pushing it aside, Rei brought up Kai’s offer.

‘Well, I could see the guys again. What it they blab where I am? ButI haven’t seen them in three years’ While Rei was contemplating, he went into the kitchen to make himself some tea. The decision was final.
