It was a dream. She knew it right away. She had left her body and was floating in another dimension. Above her head, the stars gleamed with their smooth, cold light. She felt calm. “the deep breath before the plunge” she thought and smiled happily. It was time soon, her time had finally come. The world had changed, and also the people living in it. These new people was, if not braver, at least colder. Numb. Maybe she could enter the light again...

 

She heard a voice from above. A bodyless, eternal voice speaking to her in the tongue of eternity. It said:

 

“The time has come, they are awakening. You must defeat them. This task has been appointed to you, and you alone can complete it. You have suffered, but you must put it behind you and find the strength to carry on. Go now. Do not fear, do not grieve for those who have passed. Straighten up, take your sword and fight. Fight for people and for foe, for all those who can not fight for temselves. This world had never before seen the cuorage that you possess”

 

She shuddered and answered “But i can not. I am not strong enough”

 

“Yes you can, all you need is hope. If you can not do this, no one else can either”

the vioce commanded, and she knew. Yes she knew too well. She felt her mind being drawn back into the world of the living. Slowly she opened her eyes. She was sitting by a fire. It was dark all around her. Above where the moon and the light of thousands of stars. By her side layed a cougar. Its name was Adina. It is jiddish and means future. She was cloaked. Her cloak was made of midnight -blue satin. Her long wavy hair was blacker than cole and she had glistering green eyes. Her mouth was red and her skin was light and smooth. She was beautiful as the sea or the snow. But she was sad, her heart heavied with guilt. She felt tired, not in her body or soul, but in her mind.

 

Suddenly she rose up and opened her mouth

 

“I must go to Hong Kong” she said. Then she smiled, yes it was true. She was going home. She lifted her fingers to her mouth and whisteled. The sound of thumping hoofs came drifting and a shadow revealed out of the darkness. The horse was magnificent, but it was not quite a horse. More like a horse- ish creature. It looked like a horse at first sight but when it opened its mouth and neighed you could see it had fangs. Like a lion or a cougar. She threw herself upon the “horse” and patted it on its long muscular neck

 

“Come now my dear Ortos. We have a long journey ahead. We are going to Hong Kong, and maybe... maybe we are going home” she said affectionately and stroke him over his big dark eyes. Ortos neighed as though he had understand her.

The cougar named Adina rose from her place by the fire and turned her blue eyes towards her mistress. They were leaving, her mistress and the horse and she ment to follow. When her mistress saw that Adina had made up her mind, she smiled again.

With a graceful gesture, Ortos turned on his heels and fell into a fast and swift gallop.

 

Not the best beginning (short) I know, but it is important to get the story going. Please review your opinions so I know if I should carry on or not... But I will probably do it anyway
