Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Out of the Shadows ❯ Children of the night: Trisa ( Chapter 14 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Trisa grew up in Siberia. Her mother was from France and she met Trisa's father when he was on a field trip to France. At first, her mother had doubts whether to move to one of the coldest lands in Asia, but in the end, the love for Trisa's father won. So she moved to Siberia. Trisa always stood out a bit among everyone else, because of her pink hair and ruby eyes. It wasn't exactly what you would call usual.
Trisa remembered her childhood as a happy one. Her mother and father were happy together and life was not nearly as hard as it could've been. But then came the cold winter, the depression that left her fathers company devastated and close to bankruptcy. But then winter turned to spring and the crisis passed by. Trisa went to school when she was six years old, but never seemed to be able to make any friends. She was a quiet and reserved girl who didn't make much noise and never took up any space. The thing the girls in the Unholy Alliance had in common was that they had been alone. Even though the lack of friends, Trisa never complained about it. She was a pretty happy girl, with or without any friends. She adored the wolves that lived in the forests around their house. During the summer, she spent almost her whole time lying in some bushes with her field glasses in her hands. She could lie for hours just staring at the wolves' breathtaking beauty. They were so wild and so free, just like she had always wished to be. But the wolves were hungry at wintertime and there was very dangerous to walk in the woods alone. Her mother had always warned her about that. Life went on as it always had been.
But then came the accident. The catastrophe that left the family shattered forever...
She had known the whole night that her parents shouldn't go out tonight, that they should stay home with her. She hadn't had a vision or something like that, she just had that bad feeling in her gut. The feeling that something bad would happen, just tonight. But her warnings seemed to pass the parents unnoticed and they took the car and drove into town. She cried as she saw the car leave their garage. Somehow she knew that she would never see them again.
Since they lived out of town, it took her parents about half an hour to drive all the way to the small restaurant in town were they had reserved a table. As they had promised, her parents called her as soon as they were there. Even though their trip there had gone without any problems, Trisa knew that they wouldn't make it all the way home tonight. She pleaded and begged for her parents to stay at a motel or something through the night, but they didn't seem to listen. They didn't come home that night...
The accident left her mother dead and her father devastated. At their way home, they crashed into a truck and their car was thrown off the road. Her mother died in the ambulance on their way to the hospital. Though it had been almost three years ago now, her father still couldn't handle the fact that she was gone. So he drank his troubles away. Their house that had once been so nice and cozy had turned into a dump, their garden was a jungle and Trisa had to take care of everything as soon as she came home from school. Of course that affected her grades, she failed in almost everything. She had tried to persuade her father to get his act together, but he didn't even seem to hear her. His hope was gone.
And so, finally, after years of struggling she decided that she had seen enough. There was no life any more and she wished for nothing more than to leave it. Her father didn't hear her say goodbye, he didn't hear anything she said anymore. He didn't seem to notice that his daughter was walking into the freezing winter night with nothing more than a sheet swept around her. She walked in the icy snow towards the forest the contained so many of her happy childhood memories. It was time. Time to join the wild and go back to mother earth's quiet grace. “Born out of lust, turn to dust. Born out of sin... come on in” she smiled as she remembered the old line. She had red it in a book once. The line had always frightened her, it had a dark undertone that she never seemed to understand. But now she did. She was determined that this forest should be her final resting spot. The wolves were hungry at wintertime and they would certainly take care of her. Shivering under the thin sheet, she strode through the forest, the coldness of the bitter wind chilled her all the way into her spine. It was the type of cold there is no yielding against. It cuts through you like sharp knives, tears you apart to the rattling bone. Her footprints were soon covered with snow, leaving not a trace of her presence behind. “The forest keeps its secrets” she thought. The wolves were drawing closer for every step she took, watched her with their glimmering eyes. And then she let the sheet drop, with not a thread to cover her shivering body, she strode on. The snowflakes falling from the sky seemed to come to life before her eyes. They danced before her, welcoming her home. She reached the glen she'd spent her summers watching ever since she was a small child. She had since long named it `Wergons hideout'. The biggest wolf in the clan she had watched over was named Wergon. She hadn't given him this name herself, no one could give name to what's wild and untamed. But still, she knew that his name was Wergon, and therefore, she knew their glen as `Wergons hideout'. And the wolves were hiding, they were hunted and hated by people. It had been so for hundreds of years. Humans intruded on the wolves' lands and claimed that they owned it. Drove the wild spirits away and killed those who didn't leave. In her opinion, the humans were the monsters, not the wolves. The time was right and Wergon drew nearer her for every second. His yellow eyes were fixed on the girl. His every muscle was tensed, ready for the jump. He was born wild and would always be. The girl knew that her time was running out, but she didn't mind. There was nothing left for her at this place anymore. The wolf froze, his yellow gaze piercing hers. Nothing, not a single breath broke the tense silence between the girl and the beast. And then the huge wolf lowered its back and took the jump. As the girl saw the huge beat come darting toward her, she whispered “Come, set me free...”.The enormous force in the jump knocked the girl right off her feet. She landed in the ice-cold snow with the raging beast upon her. She felt its huge fangs close on her throat and her breathing was cut off. But she didn't mind.
And then the night became silent again...
