Chapter 1: All Aboard the Hogwarts Express
Sunlight poured through the window in Steph Waterflower's bedroom. She yawned and brushed her chocolate coloured hair out of her eyes. Her hazel eyes scanned the room as she scratched her cat behind the ears. “Morning Sunny” she said.
The cat purred.
“Morning.” Said a voice behind her. She screamed and fell off the bed.
The blonde boy sitting crossed legged on the end of her bed rolled his eyes. “Is there ever a day when you act normal?” he asked.
“Shut up Enrique!” Steph snapped, untangling herself from the sheets. She muttered a chain of curse words in Italian. Enrique was Steph's second cousin. Steph had been born in Rome, before her family moved back out to Australia. Despite being halfway across the world from each other, the two were extreamly close.
“Cugina, mind your language, your friends might not be able to understand you but I can.” Enrique reminded her.
“Cousin, either you talk in Italian, or you speak in English, but cut it out with the fifty-fifty talk.” Steph snapped. “Why'd you wake me at 6 am.”
“Cuz it's September first. First day of school.” Enrique grinned.
“Oh, welcome to my hell.” Steph groaned. “Another pointless term without my faithful electric guitar.”
Enrique smiled and pulled his cousin off her bed. “Get dressed. We're late.” He left the room.
Steph muttered some move curse words and threw her pillow after him but it hit the closed down and flopped to the floor pathetically. She groaned. Now, where the hell are my clothes? she wondered, looking over to where she had left her jeans last night. Her blood boiled when she noticed they were gone. "RONALD WEASLEY,HARRY POTTER,TYSON GRNAGER AND MAXAMILLION MIZUHARA TATE! IF YOU LOT DON'T STOP HIDING MY THINGS I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!"
Tala stared at the brick wall between platforms nine and ten.
“See, like I told you, Kai.” Bryan was saying. “Platform Nine, Platform Ten. Your make believe Platform Nine and Three Quarters must be somewhere in between, but I can't quite see it.”
Kai smirked. “Idiot.” He said. “Just walk into the wall and you'll end up on the platform.”
The four Blitzkreig Boys stared at him.
“I don't know if you noticed Kai,” Tala spat, “Or if this even applies to you, but we're not dead! We can't walk through walls!”
Kai smirked again and walked through the barrier.
Tala gawked.
Steph giggled, and followed her team captain. Then she poked her head back out. “Coming Valkov?” she teased.
Mia smiled and pulled the stunned red head through the barrier.
“Now remember,” Mad Eyed Moody was saying. “Keep a sharp eye. Daisy and Hiro will bestationed outside the Gryffindor Common Room every Thursday by week three. Report to them if you see anything suspicious, but don't go wandering off on your own without a teacher's permission - ”
“Aw, relax Mad Eye, we're not stupid.” Trunks grinned.
His father, Vegeta, glared at him. “Trunks, watch your tone, son.”
Trunks shrugged as the train whistled.
“Okay, everyone, you better board the train.” Mr. Weasley said.
“Take care of your friends.” Chi-Chi Son said.
“Be good. And I don't want any owls saying you've blown up a toiletseat.” Goku reprimanded his two sons and nephew.
Gohan and Goten grinned.
“Thanks for the new idea Dad, we would never have thought of that!” the twins said, boarding the train.
Goku looked baffled. “Should have seen that coming.” He muttered.
Mrs. Weasley looked at the remaining children who were yet to board the Hogwarts Express. “Oh, Kai! You have a smudge on your nose.”
Kai stared at her in complete horror as she pulled him closer and rubbed his nose with a hankerchief. “Mrs. Weasley - knock it off!”
Becky laughed and linked arms with Kai, dragging him onto the train.
Steph smiled and brushed her hair over her shoulder and looked at her twin sister.
Misty, however, was looking elsewhere. At her boyfriend, a black haired boy waving at her from further down the platform. “I'll see you on the train, I'm going to say hello to Ash.”
“Make sure you give him a smooch for me!” Steph teased. Then she turned to her little sisters and her brother. The blue haired, blue eyed, Bulla Waterflower hugged her older sister.
“Bye-Bye sissy!” Bulla said. Steph smiled as Bulla's twin, the orange haired Melody, added her weight to the hug, soon followed by her twin brother, the jet black haired Peter.
Their father stepped up to them. “Bulla, Melody, Pete, why don't you go say bye to the others.” He said.
The triplets nodded and ran off to bug their brother.
“Well, bye Dad.” Steph said. “Seeya at Christmas.” She turned to board the train, which was whistling noisily.
“Hold on a sec Squirt,” Vegeta said. “I need to give you something.” He held out a large package, which was untidily wrapped, a letter sticky-taped shut on top of it. “This is for you, Misty and Becky.” He added. “But you can't open it til you're safe, up in your dorm, and even then, it can't leave the dormitory at any costs.”
“What is it?” Steph asked.
“You'll find out.” Vegeta said. “Until then…lock it away in your trunk. I'm serious about this Steph.”
Steph nodded. “Alright Dad. I'll take care of it. Seeya.” She hugged him quickly and stepped back towards the train.
“Wait!” Vegeta called abruptly. “Listen, I want you to be careful. Not all the students can be trusted. And don't even think of restarting the DA.”
Steph nodded. “I won't”
“And watch out for Tala. He has no idea of the danger he's in, let alone the danger that you're in.” Vegeta added.
Steph looked puzzled. “Danger, but Voltaire - ”
“Vegeta! Hurry up, the train's about to leave.” Bulma shrieked.
Steph's eyes widened.
Vegeta pushed her towards the train and shoved something in her hand. “Take this…” he ordered. “And don't tell your mother.”
“Wha - ” Steph gasped, but her father shoved her onto the train.
“Go!” he ordered.
The door shut behind her. Steph sighed. “What was he talking about?” she wondered. Giving up, she began to walk down the corridor, hugging the package and pocketing the smaller object. Soon she heard voices.
Mariam and Joseph were arguing heartily.
“Joey, Mari, excuse my language. But kindly shut the hell up!” she sighed.
Mariam and Joseph pouted and shut up. Steph pinned her prefect badge on her sweater and dragged the two quarreling siblings to a compartment.
Steph, Mariam and Joseph settled for a compartment with Tala, Kai, Becky, Ron, Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Brooklyn Kingston and the Fernandez twins, Julia and Raul.
Steph sat herself down in between Julia and Mariam for most of the trip. There were many visitors during the trip. The other beybladers kept dropping in. Johnny McGregor hadn't quite decided which compartment he was in and settled for swapping compartments every half hour.
First, Salima and Kane of the Physkicks came in for a good half an hour to chat, then they left and Oliver and Robert stopped by. Brooklyn, Ron, Harry, Joseph and Raul had left the cabin to visit some of the other beybladers, Mariah had stopped by to chat, and Steph had just sat back down after fetching her kitten, Sunny, from her basket when the most unwanted visitor dropped by.
“Well, what do we have here?” Draco Malfoy drawled.
Immediately, Kai's hand reached for his wand. “Get out Malfoy.” He ordered.
“Oh, the arrogant, rude, bastard speaks.” Malfoy smirked.
Becky stood at Kai's side, placing a restraining hand on Kai's shoulder. “What do you want?” she demanded.
“I heard there were new students in this cabin.” Malfoy's eyes rested on, Julia, Mariam, Joseph and Ozuma. “Too bad they're probably already poisoned by your lies and bad vibes Son.”
Becky glared.
“Get out!” Steph said firmly, raising her wand.
Malfoy grinned. “What's the matter Waterflower? Had another strange prediction. Seen me kicking your sorry butts.” Kai made a violent movement, but Crabbe shot a sharp spell at him, that sent him falling backwards onto the seat. Ozuma stood up and pulled out his wand.
Steph's eyes flashed, and she held her wand more firmly, as Malfoy raised his wand to her chest.
But before Malfoy could make another move, he felt another wand at his throat.
A blonde haired boy with ice cold sapphire eyes had his arm outstretched, his wand pointing at Malfoy's throat. “Now that's not very nice.” The boy said. Tala peaked out from behind him, his wand pointed at Crabbe, whilst Ray had his wand out, holding back Goyle.
Malfoy scowled. “Ishida.”
“Damn straight.” The boy replied. “What do you want?”
Malfoy remained cool. “I was simply greeting the new students.”
“Alright, you met them, now get out!” the boy said. Malfoy shrugged. But he wasn't going to pick a fight when he was out numbered this much. A few girls and Kai he could have maybe out done, but he wasn't going to risk it when the blonde had his wand to his throat.
“I was just having a pleasant chat with Waterflower, when your mate Kai here decided to act like a fool. I meant no harm to Dumbledore's pet princess. She'll end up on a milk carton one day without me doing anything, anyway. The Dark Lord has a price on her head, and her cousin's, that's bigger than the Hiwatari fortune.”
“OUT!” Mariam shrieked. She flicked her wand, and in an instant, Malfoy was on the floor. The bluenette stood up. “Get out now.” Malfoy rose slowly, and signaling to his companions, they left the compartment.
The blonde boy glared after them. “Stupid git.” He said.
Steph pocketed her wond and threw her arms around the blonde boy happily. “Matt!”
The boy, Matt, grinned. “Hey Steph.” He said, hugging her back. “What was all that about?”
“Who was that son of a - ” Mariam began
“Draco Malfoy.” Becky replied. “His father's a Death Eater. We think he is too, only we have no proof. He let the Death Eaters into Hogwarts last year.”
“Then why didn't the Ministry expel him?” Julia demanded.
“Like Becky just said. We have no proof Jules.” Mariah sighed.
Matt sighed. “I'm going after him.” He said.
“No.” Steph said. “He's not worth it.”
But Matt left anyway, followed by Kai, Ray and Tala.
Mariam sighed. “They never learn, do they?”
“Boys.” Mariah replied.
“Hey!” Ozuma snapped.
Meanwhile, whilst Mariam and Ozuma quarreled within the compartment, outside...
Malfoy cursed as he found himself being thrown against the wall by the blonde boy.
“What's you problem, Ishida?” he demanded.
“You.” The blonde replied icily. “Don't you dare threaten any of my friends again, got it?”
Malfoy smirked. “How will you stop me, fool.”
“Matt, leave him be.” Kai ordered. He had Goyle pinned down on the floor, “He's not worth it.”
“No Kai, it's about time someone put this loser in his place!” Matt retorted.
“I said leave him.” Kai ordered again.
“Matt, let them be.” Ray advised.
Matt glared at Malfoy through his cold blue eyes. “I swear, you better not lay a hand on Miss Waterflower this year, or I'll see to it that Voldemort will not be the only one you fear!”
He threw Malfoy to the floor.
Malfoy cursed again and pulled out his wand, but Tala was faster. “Petrificus Totalus!” he yelped.
Malfoy froze solid.
Matt blinked. “I suppose Sirius taught you that.”
“Actually, it was Steph who told me to use that if ever I was to run into Draco.” Tala grinned.
Matt smiled. “Remind me to complement her on her good teaching. Not bad for a beginner, Valkov.” He absentmindedly hexed Crabbe and he fell over from a Bat Bogey Hex.
“Let's go.” Kai said, punching Goyle, knocking him unconscious.
Matt pocketed his wand and stepped back inside the compartment.
“What did you do?” Steph demanded.
Matt shrugged. “That's between me and Malfoy.” He said.
Steph rolled her eyes. “You're going to loose your badge if you keep hexing him.”
“I didn't hex him.” Matt said innocently. “Valkov did.” He purposely left out the threat he made to Malfoy.
“Okay then.” Steph said hesitantly. She looked up at Matt aprehensively. Her best friend. They had grown up together. They were almost as unseperatable as Steph and Becky were. Matt was six months older than her. They had lived next door to each other for most of their childhood years. Matt was extreamly over protective of Steph. Kind of like an older brother, but somehow different. Steph didn't always agree with Matt's antics however.
Matt gave her a goofy grin. “Come on Steph, it's only the full body bind. Some poor sucker in first year will probably walk passed and unhex him before too long.”
Steph shook her head.
“Are you gunna stay angry at me for the entire day.” Matt asked.
“Somehow, I don't know what the hell Dumbledore was thinking when he made you third year prefect last year. Or Kai for that matter.” (A/N: Just for the sake of this fic, because prefect duties will have a major effect on this fic. Steph, Matt, Kai and Becky are the four fourth year prefects for this year.)
“Yeah, I'm still wondering why the hell he chose Bec as prefect.” Kai muttered.
Becky opened her mouth to protest but Kai raised a hand apprehensively. “No wise cracks from you today okay, princess” he said sarcastically.
Becky growled something in reply.
Mariam sighed. “Okay boys, out. We have to put our uniforms on.”
The boys made their way to the door.
“Oh Tala.” Steph called.
“Yeah?” Tala asked.
“I almost forgot, Mr. D did sign the Hogsmead permission form for you guys, didn't he” Steph said. Tala nodded. “Right, well, first Hogsmead Weekend is the first weekend back, we'll take you to the pet shop, you wanted to get an animal, right.”
Tala's eyes lit up. “Yeah. Thanks Steph.”
Later, on the train, a girl with long, layered red hair wandered down the compartments, looking for a boy. Her twin brother.
Rikku Valkov pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number. “Please pick up” (A/N: Do cell phones work on the train…oh well, who cares, they do now. Sorry J.K, I'm not really sticking to your story, but you like fanfiction, so here you go.)
Steph picked up her phone and read the name on the caller ID. “Rikku.” She wondered. “Where is she….” She answered it. “Rikku?”
“Hey Steph!” Rikku replied.
Steph stepped out of the compartment. “Rikku, where are you?” she asked.
“Sorry, I just got a little lost. What compartment are you in?” Rikku asked.
“334” Steph replied. “Does Tala know you here?”
“Yeah. I called him this morning.” Rikku replied. “I'm on my way.”
About three minutes later, Rikku approached Steph. “Hey.” She said, hugging Steph.
Steph grinned. “Hey Rikku. Bout time you showed up.” She said.
“Sorry.” Rikku said sheepishly. “I was er…. Well, first I had to report to Sirius. He's up in the first compartment, and he taught me some new magic to get me ready for this year. I'm a fourth year you know.”
Steph smiled. “Ok, come on, let's introduce you to the others.”
They stepped into the compartment.
“Rikku!” Tala exclaimed.
Rikku ran into the arms of her brother. “Tala”
Tala laughed. “Where were you?” he asked.
“She was with Sirius.” Steph said.
Rikku looked around the cabin. She only recognized four people. Becky, Matt, Mia and Kai.
Ray looked at her, then at Tala. “Who's this?” he asked.
Tala grinned. “Guys, this is my twin sister. Rikku Valkov. She and our cousin, Hayley, are part of the Shadow Revolution, the top B division beyblade team.”
Ray smiled at Rikku. “Nice to meet you, I'm Ray Kon, and this is my girlfriend, Mariah Rae.”
Mariah waved. “Hi Rikku.”
Slowly, everyone introduced themselves to Rikku.
“Is your cousin coming to Hogwarts?” Tyson asked.
Rikku nodded. “Yes, in November, she's on vacay (vacation) at the moment.”
“Well.” Mariam said. “I don't know you very well, but if you're a friend of Steph's, you're a friend of mine. Welcome to our group of friends.”
Next time, in Power of the Sacred Spirits
Towards the end of the journey, only a few people were left in the cabin. Becky had left on prefect duties, as Steph, Kai and Matt had already done their rounds. Brooklyn, Tala and Kai were sitting nearby Steph in the corner of the compartment, whilst Rikku, Mariam, Enrique and Johnny were playing a game of Exploding Snap.
There was a knock on the door and Hermione stepped in. “Hi guys, oh….”
Tala waved. “Hey Hermione.” He greeted.
Hermione beamed. “Tala,” she acknowledged. She looked around at Rikku, Mariam and Brooklyn. “Are you new students?” she asked.
Mariam nodded. “Mariam May, from the Australian wizardry school in Darwin.”
Brooklyn waved. “Brooklyn Kingston,” he said.
Finally, Rikku spoke. “Rikku Valkov. I'm Tala's twin sister.
Hermione smiled. “Well, pleased to meet you.” She sat down next to Johnny and the four allowed her to join their game of Exploding Snap.
Steph stared down at the smaller package her father had shoved in her hand. It was barely bigger than the size of her hand. She knew what it was. But why would her father give her this. Things were just so confusing at the moment. Tala and Rikku were under her care, and now Dumbledore was flying in bladers from all around the world to attend Hogwarts. It just didn't make sense.

“What are those ugly things pulling the carriages?” Tala asked.
“Tala, you're imagining things, I don't see anything.” Rikku replied.
“Me neither.” Brooklyn said.
Tala stared at them. “Rikku, Brooklyn, stop kidding around, they're right there.”
“Tala, you're going nuts, there's nothing there.” Julia said.
“Yes there is,” Bryan said. “They're like horses, just with wings.”
“Threstles.” Steph said. “Foreboding creatures they are.”
“You can see them?” Tala asked.
Steph nodded. “Only few people can see them.”
“Why?” Rikku asked.
“They only appear to people who have seen others die with their own eyes.” Steph said. “Hence, that's why so few people can see them.”
Tala's heart throbbed. “Mother…” he whispered.
“What?” Rikku asked.
“I saw our mother die.” Tala said softly. Steph placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Hey…come on,” she said.
Brooklyn felt uneasy. Then he spotted the castle up ahead. “Look!” he pointed.
Becky grinned “Welcome home guys.” She said.
