Blue; I got this one up, and about time too!

Tyson; yeah! And I've got a question. I'm the main character in the real thing, how come I can't be now?

Blue; because I like Rei better than you. *thinks for a sec, then says* Actually, I was going to use Kai for this fic, but because he is wearing such a tight shirt and has such weird hair, it wouldn't have worked

Kai; YES!! *jumps in the air, fist pumped* saved by the hair!

Rei; I wasn't!

Blue; I own nuthin!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok, what happened was nothing...nothing...it would be SO wrong if it was! All Kai was doing was wondering if I had a secret and why I was out of it all the time. He wants to win this tournament and that means I have to be in top form!

{Yeesh, get over it already, I'm tryin to sleep!}

I suddenly got an idea 'Hey Drig. If I eventually tell them, or somebody figures it out, your gonna have to leave, aren't you?'

Driger went silent 'Drig?'

{Um, that's the way it works, kid}

'Well, then why don't you and I make a promise. Promise me that you'll stay with me forever!' I waited patiently, laying in my bed as the bodies of Kai and Max rose and fell on either side of me.

{You got it! Nothing would make me happier. Now, can you make me a promise?}

'What is it?'

{LET ME GET TO SLEEP!!!!} and with that, I laughed silently to myself as my eyelids got heavier and I finally fell asleep

Tyson runs around acting like the idiot he is "YEAH!!!! This is so cool!" He yells to anyone who is listening. Even Kai can't ignore it, though like all of us I'm sure he tried.

I whispered to Max "Can we PLEASE pretend we don't know him?" He nodded and me, Kai, Kenny and Max snuck away, leaving Tyson to realise that we ditched him to go look at the block were in.We get their, Tyson unfortunately catching up with us, and figure out were in Block A and first match, while the White Tigers are in Block B.

"All right! We are so going to win this thing!" Max exclaims happily, I smile at them until...

"Puh, you wish!" We all turn, me REALLY not wanting to. Mariah is taunting us as the other White Tigers watch.

"We are going to win this tournament, and even if you get past round one, you won't get past us!" She boasted. I growl, PMS sucks

"Why don't you shut that blowhole you call a mouth, Mariah." I tell her, the others give me weird looks, Mairah looks almost hurt, but I truly DON'T CARE. "You may have gotten stronger, but so have we, so quit boasting and leave your personal problems on the bench" I bare my fangs and turn to leave with the others behind me...shocked, but still behind me.

In the hallway..

"Hey man, what was that?" Tyson asks me with an expression of shocked and happy at the same time. Max is exactly the same way

"Yeah! I mean, it was cool and all how you stood up to them, but this really isn't like you!" he tells me. I get a feeling, and I excuse myself, apologizing and telling them I'll meet them in the arena. I run down the hallway looking for a staff bathroom.

{Perfect timing to get your monthly. Not only do you PMS at the adversary, but you are such a pain to get along with!}

'Yeah, well your no angel yourself. Keep an eye out for the bathroom!' I tell Drig sternly, not my fault I'm in this mess. I find one, do my thing, and because it's the staff, berley anyone came in plus it was a both boys and girls bathroom, no worries. I walked out and washed my hands. After, telling Drig a joke I had heard once and in my own world, I bump into someone

"Sorry. I should be watching where I'm going. I thought.." I started

"What's going on Rei?" I look up, it's Mariah.

'I am in SO much trouble' I try to look innocent "What?"

She looks at me, searching for the answers I was not about to give way, in my eyes "You aren't the Rei I grew up with, or the same Rei I once knew anyway."

I sigh "Yes I am, Mariah. Nothing has changed, except that you think I'm a 'traitor'" I tell her, a little hurt at the last word. I turn away and stare at the mirror, hating myself at the moment for being so rude to my old friend

I feel Mariah walk up beside me, she puts her hand on my shoulder and softly says

"Rei, I never thought of you as a traitor. Lee...he made us believe it. In all truth I've missed you so much!" she makes me face her "I'm so sorry Rei, you have to believe me!"

I push her hand from my shoulder. "I have a match to get to" I leave her and walk back to the arena

{She's figuring it out!}

'To tell you the truth, I hope she does! I want somebody to talk to, without having to pretend I'm something I'm not!'

I meet up with the team, who are too busy trash talking with the other team to notice my entrance..or so I thought.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~normal POV~~~~~~~~~~

"Yay! Rei's back!" Tyson jumps on Rei's back as he strides to them

"Now we can pick the order!" Kenny adds

"I'd like a pan-fried noodle! Sweet and sour shrimp on the side!" Max tells Kenny sarcastically

"Funny," he tells Max "Rei, you should go first, show em what you got! Then Max, Tyson will play clean-up"

"Clean up?" Tyson whines "But I hate cleaning!"

He receives a sharp smack on the head by everybody. Rei goes to up his opponent

(Blue; because most of you have seen the episode, I won't go into detail)

He pulls out a win, even after Andre (his opponent) toyed with him and could have won but didn't. Max is up next, but his opponent uses the heat to make Max lose his concentration, in the end Max overcame the heat and pulled out the win (Blue; KAI WAS SWEATING!!!! *Bladebreakers smack her* I'm fine, and that hurt!)

"YAY! I won guys!" Max runs up to the others, who tell him congratulations, yada yada yada

"I wouldn't be celebrating, Max" Kai pipes up "That win was sloppy and we are practising extra hard later"

"It's ok Max" Tyson tell him "I'll win it and Kai will forget it!"

"Don't count on that Tyson" Kenny tells him sorrowfully as Tyson heads to the dish. (Blue; I'm too lazy for detail) Tyson pulls out a win at the last second, making Rei and Max have to sit down because they were so relieved. Rei turns to Kai, who is sitting as usual, arms crossed, eyes watching everything around him, not caring about anything or anyone

(Blue; so we think, MUWAHAHAHAH!!! *receives another sharp smack by the Bladebreakers* all right! What is this? Pick on the Canadian day!)

"Uh Kai?" the leader grunts to tell that he's listening "Maybe Tyson wasn't ready for such a tough opponent" Kai smirks

"Hmph, I could have told you that a long time ago" he tells the other boy "but nobody asked me..." Rei gets up with the rest of the team to go see how the White Tigers fared.

~~~~~~~~~~~Back to Rei's POV~~~~~~~~~~

'Oh great, now we got to go see them, AGAIN!!!'

{Quit complaining, at least you don't have to talk to them}

'You are just a little 'Dear Anne' aren't you?'

{I'm very good at giving advice, to other bit beasts!} He pauses {I gotta go, the others are going to celebrate, I'm going with them}

'Oh, with who?'

{Duh! Dragoon, Dracile and} he mentally smirks {Dranzer}

Rei panics, lucky for him Mariah had just made the blade she was against pieces of scrap on the floor so it looked like he was scared

'YOUR NOT GOING TO TELL ARE YOU!!'

{uh...will it hurt to know that we are all mentally connected in here?}

Rei walks away with the rest of her team shocked and panicking, cept for Tyson, OF COURSE!!

'So...Dranzer....knows?'

{Yeah, but he's not gonna say nothing}

'Dranzer's knows everything? No wonder Kai is more powerful than the rest of us...'

{the others! Not us! I'm not saying that because I'm egocentric either, see} he pauses {I really gotta get going. I'll tell you later! Or tomorrow, whichever comes first, bye!} With that, Driger left, leaving Rei feeling alone, even with her friends all around her.

They went back to the hotel on the BBA bus, Rei telling some things with Kenny about Mariah's bit beast and explaining that it was handed down to her from her ancestors, the Minx tribe. (Blue; it's true! I researched it!)

At the hotel, Kai made them work really hard until dinner, even without the bit beasts. While the others went to eat, Rei stayed behind to keep working. After about 15 minutes by herself, she decides to grab a can of juice from the machine. After grabbing it, she looks up and is face-to-face with Mariah. She drops the can in surprise and falls backwards on her butt

"God Mariah! You scared the living daylights out of me!" She takes a deep breath "What are you doing here?"

Maraih looks at her with a weird look that Rei can't place on her face "I think I know what you are, but why, Rei?" she sits in front of Rei. "Why couldn't you tell anybody?"

Rei knew the look, it was confusion and hurt mixed in one. She stands up, Mariah still stays sitting "When the time is right, Mariah, I will tell you. I'll tell everyone for that matter, what I am and why." She turns away shamefully "But I can't right now"

Mariah's hand falls on her shoulder, Rei turns around surprised

"Rei, listen to me." She says this with all the sincerity she can muster "If you want support when you do, I'll help you out, k?"

"Why?"

She winks "Us girls gotta stick together" She hugs Rei, who hugs back, thankful to FINALLY have someone to talk to

"You can't tell anybody though! Not even Lee" Rei tells her

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~normal POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mariah nods then, waving, leaves, rushing past Kai and doesn't notice him. He's returning from dinner and raises an eyebrow and sees Rei launching his blade into the dish again

~~~~~~~Kai's POV~~~~~~~~

What is this? Rei is talking with the enemy? It had better not be something else.....I swear if those White Tiger trash are right...WHY CAN'T I FINISH A SINGLE THOUGHT!!!

Kai shakes his head then walks over to Rei silently. Rei turns

"Hello Kai" he says cheerfully "How was dinner?"

Kai looks at him, then watches his blade "What was Mariah doing here" He looks up to see Rei has gone rigid "Well?"

"Uh..I..uh.." Rei stutters

Blasted kid can't make up his bloody mind. Tell him the truth or not. I don't care

"Whatever, I'm outta here" he starts to walk away

"Oh, and Rei," he adds "next time your girlfriend comes over, make sure it's when your sure none of us are around" he heads to the room again, but is cut off by an angry Rei

"She's not my girlfriend! I don't even want to think about her that way!" He tells Kai sternly. Had Kai been anybody else, he'd be cowering right now... but this is Kai were talking about.

(Man, this kid has attitude problems!) He thinks.

Kai looks Rei right in the eyes, then pushes past the smaller boy

"Oh, and Rei? Don't ever do that again or it will not end well for you" He adds walking off.

(Yeesh, I swear that kid has PMS or something) In his head he can hear Dranzer laugh hard, and gets confused

'It really wasn't that funny'

~~~~~~~~~normal POV~~~~~~~~~

It's night again, Kenny is up and working on the blades while the others are sleeping

"Lucky them" a voice from Kenny's laptop says sarcastically

"It's ok Dizzy, we were put in charge of updating the team beyblades and that's what were gonna do"

"Fine, whatever"

They don't notice a shadow creep by the doorway

(((((((((a few minutes ago, in the White Tiger part of the hotel))))))))))

Kevin is up, when he hears someone yawn behind him

"Kevin! What are you doing?" Mariah asks him sternly

"I'm just..."

"You were gonna spy on Rei, weren't you!"

"No...yes, but I thought you would want me to, Mariah!

"No way! Lying and cheating isn't the way to do it Kevin!"

"You didn't seem to mind the last time you and Lee battled, anyway" Kevin looks at Mariah suspiciously "If I didn't know better Mariah, I'd say you had feelings for Rei? Anyway, I don't care what you say, he is going to get his blade destroyed tonight!"

Mariah grabs his arm "no! You can't!" Kevin looks at her

'Oh no!' she thinks 'If I stop him, they'll think I'm a traitor too! But if I let him go, Rei will be in big trouble, and she'll probably I went back on my word! Having another girl to talk to has been great! Aw man...' "NO! Kevin get back here!" Kevin runs off

Kevin sneaks into the room and takes aim at the blade in Rei's hand. He reaches for the rip cord then stops

'DAMMIT! Mariah put me on a guilt trip!' "I'll get you next time Rei" He whispers then leaves. Rei's eyes snap open

~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~

I felt it. Somebody is in our room and looking to harm somebody, I wait ready to pounce and save my new-found friends from harm when...the person leaves? I open my eyes and look around after hearing an all too familiar voice say "I'll get you next time, Rei"

"Kevin" I murmur. I quickly dress, luckily the others are still asleep, and head to follow the intruder when I hear Kenny yell for help. I see Kevin running out of the room to the blade-yard. I jump off the balcony and cut him off in the pouring rain.

"Gotcha covered Chief" I tell Kenny, as Kevin stops. He taunts me, then challenges me to a beybattle for the Chief's research. I agree. The battle starts. About halfway through, the others show up and...KAI'S RUNNING WITH THEM!! Not alone, but with them!

{Keep it together lover-girl}

"Right, Driger.."

"Please." Kevin starts "Don't, don't do this to me Rei! PLEASE!!"

"I..I" I start, when a green light encircles the yard. I watch with horror as Driger up and leaves me, my blade stops spinning. I don't exactly remember what happens next, but from what Tyson tells me the next morning, he stopped the battle and got Kenny's disk back as I sat back in shock and horror.

I walked into the dish to pick up my blade, the others watching my every move. I climb out to see Kai walking to face me.

"I thought you were better than that, Rei." he tells me. "I guess I was wrong"

I am SO mad at myself right now "Kai..I...." but he cuts me off

"Nothing we can do now. We'll just have to wait and see what happens" That is obviously the cue for the others and I to head back to the room without questions. Kai towels himself off hand goes to bed right away. The others take short showers to get warm again, then head to bed as well, leaving me by myself to think about what has happened.

'Driger?' no answer 'Drig? C'mon man. I'm sorry! Please, answer me! I...I need you, more than I needed anything else in my entire life!' no answer again

After I'm sure that their all asleep, I get off my bed and head to the bedroom were not using and take a shower there. After, I took my bag with me, I pull out my moms favorite dress from the bottom.

"Who am I?" I ask myself that question over and over, almost anticipating an answer from nowhere, but got none. I let my hair down, not worried about who might see and ready to make a decision about my life tomorrow. I walk to the window in the bedroom then decide once and for all after seeing my reflection in the glistening glass. I set the alarm for 2 hours of sleep, then write a note to the others.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tyson's POV the next morning~~~~~~~~~

Mr. D just told us...Rei's gone

"He..he couldn't! You must've read the note wrong Mr. D!! This..can't be true" I feel Max pat my shoulder.

"Are you sure there's nothing you could have done sir?" He asks for me

"I tried to explain to him that he is an essential part of the team, but his mind was already set and made up" Mr. D explained. I felt Kai walk in the room, but I didn't care "I have never seen a boy more determined and mind-set than he was this morning. But Tyson" I look up, HOPING this is a dream, PRAYING it was, but it isn't.

"He wished you guys good luck with the tournament. I'm sure he wouldn't have done it if he had know it would hurt you all so much, he's an important part of the team but at the moment he needs to figure out who he is and where his loyalties lye."

I felt Kai leave, but as I said, I truly don't care. I look up to the others and Mr. D

"Well, I'm going to find him and bring him back" I leave with Max trailing behind me.

~~~~~~~~Kai's POV~~~~~~~

So. He did leave. I thought something was wrong about him

[Don't say those things. You don't even know what your talking about] Dranzer's voice echos through my head

'Oh yeah? Says you! He just up and left, Dranzer, just like when he was with the White Tigers'

[So, your willing to accept something when all the facts aren't present? Kai, come now, you are jumping to conclusions. There are many things you don't know about Rei that you will and must learn in the future]

'Really? Dranzer, is there something your not telling me?'

[Yes]

'What is it?' Suddenly I hear Tyson and Max running up.

"Hey Kai! Were going to look for Rei, you comin?" Max asks.

[Do not go, Kai. Rei will return and get his bit beast back, but he....] she pauses

'What is it?' I turn to the others while Dranzer falters "You have to leave Rei alone. He must find out who he is and get Driger back on his own otherwise he will have no self-respect" I turn as they make fun of me, I don't care. They leave and head to the mountains. As I train, I only use the blade so I may keep up my conversation with Dranzer

'Well? What is it you are not telling me?'

[Not tellin]

'DRANZER!'

[Too bad! You'll learn it sooner or later, why rush it?]

'You are so cruel'

[I had a good teacher]

I go back to training, wondering about what Rei's hiding and about what I'm hiding

~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~

I walked past dawn until I came across a mountain where I would train and figure out what the heck is going on. I have given up on trying to find Driger through our mental link and decided to show him that I was indeed worthy of him. I smirk as I think about how Lee's going to react after he finds out.

After climbing for about another half hour, I reach the top and what I see takes my breath away. The sun is lightly over the mountains which are shrouded in early morning mist. The sun's rays are also reflecting off the mist to surround the lower parts of the mountains and lightly speckle the world in a blanket of purple and pink.

"I may hang around guys, but at least I know that I haven't lost my sense of what's beautiful" I say to myself, then I turn to train. I launch my blade to the ground, noticing quickly that its speed and blade rotation already is down and the attack has probably fared the worst.

"Dammit!" I tell myself, still depressed that I have no idea how I could have let Kevin trick me like that! I feel the mist surround my body and blade as I train harder and longer in the morning.

Suddenly, a familiar pink blade flies to my own and a voice yells at it to destroy my blade

"What the heck do you think your doing Mariah!" I yell to the pink haired girl standing on top of the rocks.

"I'm telling you that you are being a BAKA!!" (Idiot in Japanese people, bear with me!) She yells at me, retrieving her blade.

"Oh, is that why you came? Just to tell me things I already know?" I retrieve my blade and turn from her to face the same way I did earlier, over the cliff.

"I don't know what or who I am..." she cuts me off

"Your right, you don't!" she tells me that so fiercely that I have to hold back the tear threatening to spill. But she continues from there

"BUT, if you come back, we can tell your story to them Rei. We can tell them who you are and you won't have to go on living a lie!" She puts her hand on my shoulder "We all miss you Rei, especially Lee, he misses his best friend"

I give a fake laugh "Though I'd have to beat that confession out of him, right?" She turns my face to hers, and I see the sorrow, hurt and friendship in her eyes

"Probably, but it wouldn't matter. You'd be able to live the rest of your life knowing who you are. Please Rei, I want you to be happy, we all do. If you come back, I'm sure everyone will forgive you.."

"So, your leaving us for them now Rei?" a familiar and out of breath voice growls from behind

"Tyson? And Max? What are you guys doing here?" I ask them as they pull themselves onto the cliff. They explain some stuff to me about friendship that I already knew, then challenged me to a beybattle. Mariah tries to step in but...

"No Mariah, I'll face him"

"Alright Rei, if that's what you want" she smirks, I wonder why

I battle Tyson and of course win! They had given me a choice that if I won I could choose which team I wanted to play for. I chose them and that's when Lee decides to make a very unwelcome entrance

"What are doing here with the traitor, Mariah?" he asks pretending I'm not here

"Takin a walk. I'll come with you back though. Bye Rei" she leaves with Lee. Tyson and Max surprise me by saying that it was amazing that they just jumped right off the cliff.

"Hey Rei, why don't you head down and call me a taxi?" Max asked me, if I was a girl I could have SO slapped him, but I gotta stay focussed cuz Drig isn't here to keep me in check.

"Too bad" I told him with a smirk.

We got back a couple of hours later. After stopping in to say hi to the chief, and almost squeezed to death by a hug in the process (man that kid is strong) I head back to the room to;

1. Put my stuff back

2. Take a shower

3. Beat myself up for losing Driger, AGAIN, even though the guys ALMOST made me believe I have a chance at getting him back, puh YEAH RIGHT!!!!

I walk down the hallway to the showers with all my stuff when I turn a corner and ((WHAM)), I fall backwards to the floor very ungracefully.

"OW! That hurt. Hey man I'm really sorry" I tell the person, my eyes still closed from the landing

"Oh really? Maybe you should watch where your going next time, eh?" I look up to see none other than our fearless leader, Kai

"Oh, you" I pick up my stuff and realize I don't have my conditioner 'Great, staticy hair is just what I want tomorrow'

"Looking for this?" He hands me my conditioner

"Uh, thanks" I really don't want to seem pushy towards him he'll come and talk to me when he's ready, no sooner, no later, ok, so the later I'm not sure about that but whatever. He just looks over my shoulder and brushes past me. I shrug, just in case he looks back, and walk on the bathroom (IT'S A PRIVATE ONE!!!!).

When I get in there, I turn on the warm shower, hoping that all my stupid mixed emotions would just wash away with the water, but of course that didn't happen.

I sigh "How could I fall so hard for a guy who's only friend is his bit beast? Plus" I told myself "I'm supposed to be acting like a guy. I can't let my stupid feelings get in my way of becoming the best beyblader in the world!" But for some honest reason, I don't believe a single word of that.

Blue; omg! I can't believe I just wrote that! Then again, I can't believe I've written so much lately!

Rei; no kidding! Where's Driger?

Blue; how am I supposed to know that!

Rei; you're the authoress!

Blue; and that makes me the most brainy person on Earth? YAY! Tell that to my math teacher!

Kai; she failed another math unit test

Blue; shut it Kai! RnR and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
