Blue; I'm broke!!! I swear!!!

Blue; ok, I promised another chapter so here it is. In fact, I started this one 2 hours after I finished the last one, so no one can't tell me I'm not updating!

Kai; HOW COULD YOU END IT THERE?

Blue; uh..Kai? You kinda asked that last time.

Kai; so? You never did answer me

Blue; -____-U I'm going to ignore you now. Here's the fic!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kai's POV~~~~~~~

(so? And your..) I notice something on the table. (What the...)

I see a large book on the table, more precisely a sketch book

(It must be Rei's. I wonder.....)

[Curiosity killed the cat, Kai]

I reach over and grab the sketchbook (Well, I'm not a cat now am I?) I flip it open

(oh my gosh!) My eyes go wide. I feel Dranzer go quiet with shock as well

(I...I never thought that Rei had such an eye for detail! This is really.....) I can't finish as I put it back to where I found it

[C'mon Kai, you can't even compliment him in your head?]

I turn and head back to the room to turn in early (No. Sorry Dranz, I will never be weak enough. If Rei is determined to continue with his drawing, he knows he's good, he doesn't need me to tell him)

I change quickly, Dranzer saying he's going to talk with Driger since Rei is busy with the others. I climb into the bed and roll to face the empty other 4 spots, still thinking about that drawing

why would he think of me that way? I think to myself as I fall asleep.

-----------Kai's dream--------------

It's fire! All I can see is fire! It....it's warm. I look around. I'm in a heavily treed area, hiding in a bush looking at a large clearing and a fire in the centre of the clearing. There's a man beside me, he is laughing to himself almost as if he's crazy, but I feel as if I..I love him? Love is weak! I look back at the flames, noticing that where we are is just outside a small village, the villagers are running around trying to put out the flames, I giggle, two just collided, it's funny!

I receive a smack on the back of the head for my giggle

"Laughing is not tolerated Kai" the man beside me tells me. I look up at him. I recognise the face right away, but why am I dreaming about him? He turns away and smiles evilly

"And neither is poaching on my property." he shrugs "Too bad the kid wasn't there, oh well, he isn't much of a threat if his parents are dead."

He takes my hand "Come Kai, we have work to do"

With that I look back once at the flames and notice the outline of a cart and follow the man away from the trees

My eyes snap open and I sit up. Looking over at the clock I see it's 5 minutes until I usually get up. I get out of the bed, shower and change before heading into the kitchen to see Kenny not there. I smirk to myself

"Well, at least he got a decent amount of sleep" I say as I pull out a glass of orange juice. After popping some toast I sit and think about the dream...

[Or is it?] says Dranzer, yawning

(Ok, you have achieved the impossible. I don't understand what you mean)

Dranzer winces [IT'S TOO DAMN EARLY KAI!! NOW LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!!!]

(Not my fault) I tell him as I clean off my plates

"Mornin Kai" I jump 0.0000001 of a mileometer. I turn to see Rei walk in

"Your foot looks better" I tell him, noticing he doesn't have a limp. He smiles

"Yeah. The Chief found a bandage at the store last night and put it on me. It works" he shrugs and makes himself some toast. I walk out onto the patio overlooking the valley, the sun is just rising and the heat of it warms my chilled body. I hear Rei walk up beside me and lean on the railing

"It's gorgeous" he remarks. I nod in agreement, then raise an eyebrow

"Yeah" I start "It would make a great painting" I look at him. He's just staring at it, completely in his own world

"Yep, it would. Too bad I don't have my paints with m..." he gets scared and looks at me. "You...you know!" I nod

"As long as you don't screw up in your battles I don't care" I turn to leave when the last thing I wanted to happen did

"So...if you saw it.." I stop in my tracks, afraid of what he was going to say "What do you think?" I stay where I am

[Let's see, if you don't answer him...what will he think? If you tell him it sucks, he might not pick up a pencil or a brush again. Then again if you DO answer him and tell him it's good, you might make a friend] he smirks [What a tough decision]

(SHUT UP!!!) I close my eyes tight and walk off the patio, through the living room and to the practise dish

[Oh, that was smooth]

(Why can't you shut up?)

[Why can't you give Rei a compliment? I'm sure he won't hold it against you! Now Tyson on the other hand...]

(yeah yeah yeah, just shut up and practise) I launch my blade, letting my fears an uncertainties flow into the blade itself

~~~~~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~

{Well, that was nice. He said absolutely NOTHING!! And that is like the best one you have ever done!}

'Drig, think about it this way. Kai doesn't talk to anybody and is always WAITING to insult somebody. He didn't insult me though, I'm guessing that was his way of saying it's good!' I clasp my hands together and watch the sunrise come up all the way while eating my breakfast

~~~~~~normal POV~~~~~~~~

At the finals

"ok! This is the finals and we are SO going to ROCK!!!" Tyson jumps up and down with Max yelling

"Yes yes yes, but first we need to settle down and WIN it guys!" Kenny tries to tell them

"It's no use Chief, their not gonna listen" Rei points out, a huge sweat drop forming on his head

"Sigh, your right Rei. MAX!!!" Kenny yells "YOUR UP!!"

"YAY!" Max jumps up onto the platform. Tyson stays standing to cheer his friend on, Rei sits beside Kai and Kenny

"Go get em Gary!" Mariah yells from the other side. Lee decides to take that moment to insult Rei

"Ths White Tiger WILL be mine Rei!" Rei shakes his head and ignores Lee.

"3-2-1 LET IT RIP!!" The match starts, both Max and Gary are fighting great until they call out thier bit-beasts

"GALZZY! ATTACK!!!" Gary yells. Kai turns to Rei

"Is Galzzy as powerful as he looks?" he asks him. Rei shakes his head and looks at the floor

"Let's just say I wouldn't want to be in Max's shoes right now"

Rei was right, Max was defeated and almost lost his bit beast because of it. Galzzy had destroyed the arena to smithereens.

Rei looks away and waits for Max to come back right away. When he doesn't, he looks up. Gary is helping Max out of the dish where he was searching and eventually found Dracile.

"Talk about your gentle giants" Tyson remarks, then runs up and pats Max on the back "Don't worry man! We'll get em next time" Max looks up at Rei

"Sorry Rei, I know I let you down.." Rei interrupts

"Says who? You did great Max! Even I berley beat Gary when I was with the White Tigers." He gives Max the thumbs up "gotcha covered" He walks up to the dish where Mariah is waiting.

"Uh oh" the 2 standing bladers hear their captain say. Tyson turns

"What's wrong Kai?" Kai looks at Rei

"I don't think Rei should be blading here. Him and Mariah...well...have a history together. He won't blade his best against her" he tells them blankly. Max shakes his head

"Sorry Kai, I don't believe you" Kai looks at him and motions to the dish where the battle has already started. Max turns just as Mariah delivers an easy to block blow to Rei. Tyson and Max sweatdrop

"Hate to say it...never mind, no I don't" Kai starts "I told ya so"

"REI!!" Max Tyson and Kenny yell in unison

~~~~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh God!! How could I be losing so badly? What's wrong with me?

"REI" I look up to Mariah "Mariah..." I clench my fists as she delivers a fatal blow to Driger

"Rei! I don't want to win this way, put some effort into this!" she tells me

"I...I'm trying..." "DON'T TELL ME THAT! I know you and your better than this!"

I look at her and call it "TIGER CLAW!!" Hers and my beyblade collide, problem is she send Drig out of the dish. My eyes go wide "no...." I close my eyes and turn to pick up my blade.

"Well well well, looks like Rei doesn't deserve it after all" I hear Lee say, not trying to be quiet about it either. I turn back to my team

"Sorry guys.." I start holding my opposite arm and not making eye contact with them

"SORRY! Sorry doesn't cut it Rei!" Tyson blows up at me. I open my eyes but look at the ground to the right of him. I hear Max try to defend me

"Hey man, I'm sure Rei tried his best..." I interrupt, not wanting to see one of my teammates grovel on my behalf

"No, Max. Tyson is right" I look at the 4 of them "I'll win the next one, don't worry"

I turn to the dish as Maraih comes up and tells me things I don't need to hear

"What was with that last round Rei? Your not at your full potential. What are you doing, going easy on me? I'm better than that Rei!" I launch my blade on the count and try to concentrate on the match.

'Why the hell can't I concentrate!'

"Rei" I turn to see Kai

"Kai?"

"Rei, what are you doing? Maybe we were wrong in choosing you to come on the team. Don't let your emotions get in the way." He walks back to the bench.

'He...he's right'

"C'mon Rei! I know that your not blading with your heart! I know your better than that!" I look up at Maraih

"Your right Mariah, I wasn't blading at my full potential, but I am now" I smile at her shocked face "Are you willing to forgive me?" I completely ignore the aws from the crowd and Lee's angered cries. Mariah looks at me with tears in her eyes and nods "Totally!"

"Great, C'MON DRIGER! TIGER CLAW ATTACK!"

"GALUX, CAT SCRATCH ATTACK!" the two blades meet, Driger knocking Galux out. After Drig returns to my hand I call out to her

"Hey Mariah, let's blade both to our full potential the entire time this time, huh?" I wink and smile. She smiles and has tears in her eyes as Jazzman calls out the countdown

"Rei!" I look up from our beyblade match "I...I want to apologize" I notice her wipe a tear from her eye

"Mariah..." I don't know what to say after that

"It's just Rei..." she looks at me with determination on her face "I've totally missed being your friend! Can you forgive me?" I nod

"Of course Mairah. You and the others are some of my best friends and that will never change." I tell her in all honesty. Even I have tears almost forming in my eyes "Let's finish this, huh? Then we can hang out later"

"Yeah! GALUX!"

"DRIGER!"

I'm amazed, but at the same time we both yelled "ATTACK!" As out blades rush at each other with all the force they can muster, I look at Mariah, she looks up at me, we both nod and smile and return to the fight. Our blades collide, sending a whole bunch of dust and a gale force win throughout the stadium. We look up....

"I....guess I win then" I say, not too enthusiastically. I notice a pink ribbon land at my foot. I bend over to pick it up and walk over to Mariah and hand it to her

"Great match" she looks up at me

"You to. I'll.." she hesitates and looks at Lee, then turns back to me with a smile "I'll be seein ya around then?"

I look at Lee as well "I know with your heart, Mariah, we'll survive. Don't let anything get ya down, k?" I put a hand on her shoulder. She looks at me, understanding in her eyes. She nods and laughingly says

"Yeah! Talk to ya later!" she runs back to her side, I to mine.

~~~~~~~~~~Kai's POV~~~~~~~~~

(I've got to hand it to Rei, he overcame his feelings and brought Mariah to her knees. I always knew girls were weak bladers)

[KAI!]

(This just proved it!)

[This proves nothing! Don't talk about things you don't understand] I feel Dranzer turn and know he doesn't want to talk to me anymore

(What did I say?)

I look up at the match. Tyson is losing, but something is wrong? Lee's moves look all to familiar....I hear Rei gasp beside me

"What is it, Rei?" Kenny asks

"He...he knows all his team mates special attacks!" Rei exclaims, I almost...I repeat ALMOST...fall off the bench

"How?" I ask

"I don't know, but this is wrong. C'MON TYSON! YOU CAN DO IT!"Rei yells

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Normal POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tyson got his butt whooped in the first round. In the second round he won. In the 3rd round they...

"TIED!!!" The audience screams

(Tyson; why couldn't you go into detail about MY battle?

Blue; Rei's the main character here, now shut up!

Tyson; meany!)

Lee walks back to the bench and looks at each of his team mates faces, Kevin is out of sorts, Gary is....well, Gary, and Mariah is obviously dissapointed. Lee turns to her

"You know this wouldn't have happened had you finished Rei off" Mariah is shocked and stands up

"That's not faire Lee! I did my best but he beat me!"

"Sure." he looks at Rei and growls "I'll take this one" he walks up to the dish without another word from his team mates

Mariah thinks to herself

\I should tell them..but then again, what would happen to Rei? Never mind, I'll stay quiet until she wants to tell, then I'll help her out. I just hope Lee doesn't go overboard\ she stays quiet as Rei approaches the dish

~~~~~~~~Rei's POV~~~~~~~~~

Ok, so convincing the team that I could blade wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do but I did it!

{And now your going to get your butt kicked by your former leader who knows your weaknesses, your strongest attack AND let's not forget that he knows his team mates moves as well!}

'You finished complaining yet?'

{Yep, pretty much. It's just that...Rei...I don't want to leave you girl! Your like the baby sister I've never had!}

'No worries Drig. You're my best friend and I'm not going to let you go'

{Thanks Rei. Let's beat em!}

'Oh yeah!'

I walk up to the dish

"So Rei? Ready to give up the White Tiger bit?"

"No way Lee." I tell him "You have to listen to me, Lee! I didn't run away from the village, I left to broaden my horizons! Please man...." Lee won't hear any of it

"Sorry Rei, as far as I'm concerned you're a traitor. A traitor with my bit beast that is!" He readies his blade "Now get ready, because I'm taking what is rightfully MINE!"

Jazzman calls it and we battle. Lee goes all out at me, I can almost feel the hatred vibrating off him

"Oh Lee" I whisper to myself as he uses Galux's Cat Scratch on Driger "How did this happen? You were my best friend" I get Driger out of there before he can use Galman's crazy monkey, but I notice Mariah yelling to Lee

"LEE! Please! Remember what the elders taught us!" She tries to reason with him, he just pushes her away not wanting to hear any of it.

"Lee" I get his attention "You should have listened to her, now it's time to show you" I get a weird feeling, like I'm being powered up. My eyes narrow to slits as I concentrate "I'm going to show you what I have learned. DRIGER! TIGER CLAW ATTACK!"

A huge jolt of electricity escapes my blade, or energy, I don't know, but whatever it is goes through the roof

"That'll take out a few satellites" I hear Tyson comment. I regain control and look to see Galeon blown out of the dish. I give a sigh of relief that I could keep Driger and walk over to Lee. He looks up at me

"You were right, Rei. I had a closed mind" he tells me as I walk up. He looks at me sorry written all over his face. I hold out my hand

"Don't worry about it" I smile as he takes my hand "It's just good to know that I have my friend back"

{Aw, how sweet. And to think, I made it all happen! I feel so special}

'No egocentricity here, you've got it all'

{THAT was SOOO uncalled for}

'Hey, your starting to sound human' I tell him as both my former team and my new team shake hands and walk out of the stadium together

{Now there's no need to be insulting. You think Mariah will tell?} I just remembered that. I lag behind to talk to Mariah in front of the buses, lucky for us to the others it looks like were saying good bye so they won't bug us. I lower my voice

"Your not going to tell them, are you?"

She smiles at me and hugs me "Not until YOUR ready to tell." she lets go "It's great to have you back as a friend Rei" I nod, wave good bye again, and get on the bus.

Tyson, Max and Kenny are doing cat-calls and Kai is just annoyed, as usual. I use my speed to get behind Tyson and kick his feet from under him. I'm giving him my I-didn't-do-it whistle when a voice from behind startles me

"Well boys, you won the Asian Tournament" I spin around, it's mister Dickenson "Congratulations, I knew you could do it! Now, you will head home for a while then it's off to the American tournament in...well, the United States"

"We're ready for it!" Tyson yells.

"Definitely!" I agree. I look over to Max, he has an unusual happy face on, haven't seen the kid this happy yet

"Alright! So were off to home, then the American tournament!" Tyson whoops. I sweat drop

"Uh..that's exactly what Mister Dickenson just said"

"I know, oh well" he takes one last look at the China Tower before we are out of site of it "America, here we come. LET IT RIP!" he pumps his fist in the air.

'You know, for some reason I feel like the main character of a T.V show? Normally this would be the ending, wouldn't it?'

{I agree, but your just imagining it} I nod, and look at Kai, he looks back at me, then turns back to staring out the window

'Someday..' I think as I sit down and sneak a peek at him again 'Someday, I won't have to keep this secret. Someday, I'll be able to tell them straight out and hopefully they'll accept me as Mariah did'

{Yep, someday. Don't worry kid, it'll come sooner than you think}

'Well, I wouldn't mind if it didn't come too quick, I'm not bad at this'

{You only THINK your not bad}

'Yeah yeah yeah, I'll talk to you on the plane' I fall asleep, dreaming of the day when I won't have to pretend to be someone I'm not

Tyson; yay! I have lines!

Rei; yeah! Special ED!

Tyson; ha ha, very funny!
