Nightmares...Dreams
"Will the passangers please board their seats and the kid in the red, white, and blue hat please refrain from eating all the packaged peanuts designed for this flight. Thank you," stated the flight attendant.
"Don't they always have to ruin my fun!" cried Tyson. Everyone else was sitting down in their seats, almost ignoring Tyson. Everyone was so tense in their seats. They didn't know what to say. Kai felt especially troubled that they were leaving Ishizu, and not even telling her. He felt the knife in his back digging in deeper and deeper. But he didn't let anyone recognize it or tell anyone how he felt. Instead, he sat back in his seat, arms crossed, eyes closed. The typical "Kai" position. Ray glanced over at Kai, knowing exactly what he was thinking. He too felt bad that they were leaving Iz, but it was for her own good. She wasn't in good health and her leg wasn't too helpful for chasing down the path towards Alem. And who even knew where that road was, and where the forbidden ruins were. How were they ever going to find them and what if they were too late?
The plane took off and the hours started to count down. Tyson was out in snap, and actually not snoring too loudly. Hilary, sitting next to him, fell asleep and her head fell down to rest on Tyson's rising and fall chest. Max, sitting on the other side of Hilary couldn't help but chuckle. Kenny leaned forward from the seat that he was in, and looked at them. Max turned his head back towards Kenny.
"They looks so cute together, even if they won't admit it," declared Max. Kenny nodded.
"I bet you that they're going to hook up soon," he replied. "I mean, they are getting along better than when Hilary first started to hang out with us." Max nodded, and grinned. He turned away from the two and went to sleep himself. Kenny went back to his laptop, getting all the information on Alem that he could. Ray was out as well, dreaming a bit about Mariah, wondering what she was up to lately.
And Kai, he looked asleep, but he was wide awake. The entire way he was thinking about Ishizu, about her fall, her, and how she was going to take the fact that they were leaving her out in the cold. He stuttered at that thought. He didn't want to be the one to tell her. No, they had to have Alem before they could tell her anything to confirm it. That would be Ozuma's job. Big brother, yea, that's it. Kai shifted in his seat, to face away from everyone. In his hand was Dranzer. Glaring down at him, Kai squeeze his hand. He truely regreted this. And Dranzer could tell, and Kai could feel Dranzer entering him, entering his mind. Kai fell into a deep sleep....
The next thing Kai could tell when he woke up, was that he was lying down on the cold black ground. Looking up, everything was black. Everything. Nothing but a light that shown down on him. Kai rose his hand to block out the light. Why did it have to be so damn bright? Standing up, Kai tried to look around. He didn't see anything. Suddenly an image of Iz passed him and then vanished as quick as it came. Kai stood up.
"Iz?" he asked. But the darkness swallowed him up again. Kai looked around, he couldn't see anything. Suddenly, behind him, he saw a darker shadow coming at him. Turning around, it was Dr. Kay, grinning and laughing. But she suddenly bursted into flames and completely dissappeared. Kai looked around, confused on what was going on, and where he was.
"Don't worry, Kai," stated a voice above him. "I can explain everything." Kai looked, around but he couldn't see anyone. Then he felt a warmth over his back and turned to look up to the sky. In a bright flame, was the golden red phoenix dropping down towards him. Kai stepped back a second, speechless, as Dranzer stood in front of him, looking down at him and folding his massive wings. The long plume behind Dranzer snapped around to rest behind Kai.
"Dranzer?" asked Kai. The bit beast nodded. "Where am I? How did I get here?" Dranzer nudged his head to point to his back.
"Get on, I'll answer your questions after you get a better understanding on what you guys are getting yourselves into," replied Dranzer. Kai didn't know what to do. Refuse the bitbeast, who never gave up on him? Kai walked around to Dranzer's side, and the massive bird lowered himself to the ground, stretching out his head and neck. Kai swung astride Dranzer's neck and grabbed a hold of a few feathers. "Hold on tight." Kai did so, and Dranzer stretched his massive wings and made a gigantic flap. Dranzer quickly rose in the air, giving Kai a bit of a toss as the launch was quicker and more powerful than he thought it could be. Finally Dranzer pointed his head to the black sky in front of him, and soared up. It looked like they had entered a portal that surrounded by flashing blue and golden lights. Kai glared as their speed picked up. He had to lower himself as to not be flung right off of the bit beast's back. Dranzer looked back, but didn't change his course or speed. If anything, he picked up the pace.
Kai leaned against the pressure put upon his front side. It was getting harder and harder to keep up with Dranzer. He could feel the warmth of Dranzer and the fire inside of the phoenix. Dranzer just kept soaring through the portal and finally came to a slowing stop. Dranzer overed over something, and Kai looked down and to his right and left side. It was Cairo, Egypt. What was he doing there? "What are we doing here?" Dranzer's eye looked back at Kai.
"Its time for you to see what actually happened all those years ago," replied Dranzer. Kai looked at him funny, and then Dranzer started to pump his wings and soar through Cairo. They passed by many streets of people dressed in simple linin tunics and robes. Kai watched as many passed by in silence and not many were speaking. There were strange orbs that hung from the men's necks. It wasn't until Dranzer dropped down to the level of the people, that Kai come into a bit of a worry state. What was Dranzer doing. He was flying straight through at ground level, the people were close at hand.
"Dranzer, you're going to hit-" started Kai, but they both soared right in between two women walking down the street. "What the?"
"This isn't exactly real, Kai," replied Dranzer, his eye glancing back at Kai. "Well, it is real, but you aren't to these people." Kai rose his brow.
"Explain a bit more," he asked.
"Well you see," started Dranzer. "We did a little time traveling, but not really. You are still in your mind, but your subconciouness took a time travel, and these people are real, and you're just a computer image, even if there aren't any computers-"
"Dranzer, just stop, its not making any more sence than before." Dranzer smirked.
"Well, I guess I was around Dizzeria too much." Kai chuckled, that was all too true.
"Where are we going?" asked Kai.
"We are going to where this whole mess started... the capture of the might Alem," replied Dranzer and his pace picked up. Kai kept seeing most of the men with their crystal orbs that were glowing different colors.
"What are those orbs?" asked Kai. Dranzer looked at the orbs too, but kept soaring, weaving throught the streets.
"Those are the orbs of the Keepers. They contain all the bitbeasts. One for each orb, each man," replied Dranzer.
"Only the men have bit beasts? Are you in one of those?" asked Kai. The phoenix nodded his head and they made it out of the streets and on the way out of the town. Kai looked back and watched as the torches and the orbs lit up the village. Dranzer soared over hills of sand and mountains of sand. Sand, sand, and more sand. Kai was sick of seeing it, but in the night sky of Cairo, Kai could still make out the prints of the people who were ahead of them. "So where exactly are we going?"
"As I said, to where the whole problem started," replied Dranzer. "The Untouched Secrecy." [So much for being untouched and a secret, ] thought Kai to himself. "I heard that," declared Dranzer, smirking at Kai. But his attention turned when a loud blast was heard from over one of the hills just above them. A shrilling cry was heard and loud voices bellowed from there. "We're late!" cried Dranzer. He took off with out warning Kai, who had to grasp the bit beast's feathers harshly. But Dranzer either didn't notice, or seem to care. They soar close to the sand as it went over the mountain of sand and to a valley. There were blasts coming from the valley, and Dranzer soared up into the sky and hovered over the scene. Kai's eyes widened at the scene before him, his anger raging.
There were a hundred men or so that had called upon their powers within their crystal orbs. Hundred of spirits emerged from their orbs. Some took resemblance of all different kinds of fish, many dolphins and whales, and large sized turtle. There were a few dog like creatures. Some of them were mixtures like a goat and a fish. There were a couple of great cats, and then he noticed a large sized white tiger. In the mix were other mythical like creatures and another blue dragon, watching those littler dragons around him crumble and vanish at onslaughts. Kai watched as many birds were taken down, until he saw a red phoenix in the battle on the backside of the target.
"Is that?" started Kai, but he didn't finished. Dranzer remained silent as his attention focused on the target, the 50 foot long white/transparent dragon in the center of the massacre. The oversized Dragon's body was transparent, as well as its massive wings. The outline of the wings and the ridges on the dragons body were a light blue with many symbols across his back and head. The dragon's eyes were lined like the egyptian's eyes, and teeth were like the size of houses. The nostrils were flared as some steam escaped it. Huge fire balls and lazers shot out of its opened mouth. And cries of dying Spirits caused their Keepers to drop down as well. And in the back, the cries and orders of attack came from the pharaoh's mouth. The Keepers and their Spirits were fighting the mighty Alem the Sky Dragon.
Kai could feel his anger boil, as he watched one by one the Bitbeasts and their partners dropped down to the ground dead. Alem was too powerful, his blasts taking many lives. The Tiger curled into a ball as a lazer was shot at him and the other great cats. Those aside of him fell to the ground and disappeared forever. It was a massacre, and above everything, Kai had to sit there and watch as the pharaoh drove his people to their death over a bit beast. The turtle quickly put up his defenses and so did the dragon and the phoenix.
"This is just how Kenny and Dizzi told us," murmured Kai. Dranzer's eye glanced up at him.
"Not necessarily..." Out of the corner of Kai's eye, he noticed a black horse driven up into the valley. He watched it and its rider, dressed in a white robe, and turban, a piece of the cloth covering his face. The rider jumped off and left the horse to a ground tie. Kai couldn't help but watch what this small boy was trying to do. But then he noticed around the boy's neck was an orb glowing a bright yellow color, but no one else seemed to notice his presence. Kai heard another cry, one of victory. Kai looked up and watched as Alem was still standing and there were only eight bit beasts surrounding Alem. He glared down at them, angered for their betrayled to him. The pharaoh chanted to attack over and over again. The phoenix, the dragon, the turtle, the tiger, a jackal, a hawk, a bull, and a harpy still surrounded the mighty White God. Alem glared down at them, his blue eyes turned to ice. He attacked the Hawk first, firing a lazer at him. But suddenly a spiral of fire, a gust of wind, and a lightning bolt managed to avail the attack. Alem turned to see the Phoenix, the Tiger, and the Dragon protecting the Bull. Suddenly, Alem attacked again, this time at the Harpy, who tried to use a banshee cry to block the attack. But it only did little for the blast hit it, and the both the Harpy and Bull, which felll to the ground, still alive, but deadly weakened.
"GOLDEN RA!" shouted a higher pitched voice, directly below Dranzer and Kai. Kai glanced down as a bright light surrounded them, and out appeared a golden griffon, with armor over its head and neck. The griffon's wing span was at least 20 feet, and his appearance cry caught the attention of Alem. The Sky God Dragon turned and huffed a cloud of smoke at Golden Ra. The Spirit glared at Alem and made his own haromonious cry. The Griffon Spirit attacked Alem with his Golden Shower. The griffon rose into the air, and the area under his massive golden wings darkened and stars started shooting out of it, hitting the God Dragon, giving the other bitbeasts the chance to attack, which was what they did. The Pheonix finished its Flame Saber, throwing the mighty Dragon to the ground in a heap and loud thud. Kai cringed, and Dranzer just stayed still and silent as the golden griffon joined in the attack. The little boy down below them ran out to join the last of the eight men, who looked at him strangely. The eight Spirits attacked the fallen Alem, and then suddenly Golden Ra's entire body glowed a bright white and golden color.
"MILENNIA ATTACK!" shouted Golden Ra, his powerful voice bellowing out. The lit up griffon stretched out its body as he opened his mouth and a powerful lazer beam fired and the shocking white light went straight for the weakening Alem. Then Alem cried out towards Golden Ra.
"Why my son!" And Golden Ra and the little boy down on the ground suddenly fell into a shock. But it was too late as the powerful Milennia attack hit Alem, almost destroying him. Golden Ra seemed to realized his mistake, and so did the other eight Spirits. It was too late for Alem, as the Pharaoh came up and held out his staff towards the injured Alem. He chanted a few words and the crystal end of the staff glowed a bright light, and the light surrounded Alem. The God Dragon tried to claw and climb his way out of the vortex that was pulling him in. Scrambling he almost made it, but his injured body was drawn into the staff's crystal top, and Alem was sealed away.
Kai's fists clenched together and he growled under his breath. "Pacients, there's just one more thing I want you to see," stated Dranzer. The pharaoh and his guards turned to face the nine people still standing. The nine Spirits returned to their orbs, and the pharaoh chanted very few words of praise to them. He was just glaring at his staff, watching the shrunken image of the captive in his prison. Alem was floating around in the staff, trying to get out, bashing harder and harder into the sides. The pharaoh continued to laugh.
"Good job my subjects, you have made your Pharaoh very proud of you. And where is that little boy?" asked the Pharaoh. "The one with the Golden Griffon." The men looked between them, but there was not little boy around them. Turning they notice the child running away from them. "Don't you defy your Pharaoh! I would like to praise the hero of the night." The guards held up their torches to show the light, exposing the robed child heading towards the black arabian horse. But then the little boy tripped in the sands and crumbled to the ground. Getting up, the turban and the cloth wrapping his face came undone and fell off. The long white hair fell down the shoulder's of the child, and the fair complection and fine bone structured face went into a state of fear. The eyes, painted and make covered let their white predominate. Kai gasped, as he watched and recognized who this was.
The Pharaoh was the most surprised of all of them. "GUARDS! SEIZE THAT GIRL!" The guards started off and ran towards the girl, their spears and whips in hand. The girl scrambled up and ran towards the black horse. She leaped on its back and spun it around.
"CHA CHA! MOVE!" she told the black, and the arabain took off in a hurry, tail fanned out. The guards couldn't catch the girl.
"Who was that child?" asked the Pharaoh. "Did any of you recognize her?" He snapped around towards the guards, and the eight men. The men shrugged, but one of the guards walked up to the Pharaoh. He whispered something to the Pharaoh, and then he stepped back. "You eight, return to your homes for the night. Tomorrow the work on my temple continues! GO!" The eight men turned and walked away. Once they were gone, the Pharaoh turned to the guards. "That was Nakia, daughter of Sef and Mryyh Ishtar, those outlanders. Go, kill them all." The guards nodded and marched off towards the path that Nakia had left from her arabian. Kai just sat there, speechless.
"Dranzer..."
"There was more to this that what Kenny or Judy know," stated Dranzer. "You are all destined for this journey. And now you know what truely happened. Take this memory and use it to your benefit."
"But we have to go and save Nakia and her family," declared Kai. Dranzer shook his head.
"There is nothing you can do, you can't change the past. Just as I can't go back and stop myself from attacking Alem, you can't save Nakia's family from their death. In two days time, the Pharaoh will use Alem to destroy all the Ishtars, except for Nakia, she will not make it home until after the destruction," firmly said Dranzer. "I'm sorry, but she's doomed to walk around alone for many more years. We can't change the past. And now... its time for you to wake up."
"Huh?" wondered Kai, and suddenly out of no where, his world was spinning.
Kai woke up in a jolt, jumping almost out of his seat. Looking around, he expected to see sand, lots of it, and Dranzer. What about the Untold Secrecy? Where was it? Where was Nakia, running for her life? Alem, trapped in the hands of the evil pharaoh? But no, all he saw was an airplane seat in front of him, and a confused Ray next to him.
"You OK?" asked Ray. Kai mumbled and was quite groggy as he woke up.
"Will the passanger in the red, white, and blue hat PLEASE REMAIN SEATED! And will everyone please buckle up, we are about to decend to the runway... Welcome to Cairo, Egypt." Tyson sat back down in his seat and huffed. Hilary looked over at Kai, noticing his rude awakening.
"What's up Kai?" asked Hilary.
"Oh, did wittle Hiwatari have a bad dream?" joked Tyson, making baby faces. Hilary knocked him in the head. [Wouldn't Tyson be surprised... ] wondered Kai.
dija think?! That was so long to write and think it all up! R&R. Anymore suggestions...
