Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Those Little Moments ❯ Epitome & Sheets ( One-Shot )

Two very small separate Beyblade drabbles that I don't think I'll post on FF.net (not because I don't like them, but because I have a taboo of posting anything that is lower than 1000 words). The first is Kai x Hiromi, and the second is Yuriy x Hiromi.

Because I wanted something unorthodox and authentic, so I did pairs I don't normally write about, and I used the names I don't really use at all.

1. Epitome

When Kai wants to think about it (and he never really does), he thinks that he is the epitome of the opposite of faith. Because for Kai, the opposite of faith is hopelessness and that is what he was, and always is. He doesn't like to think about how hopeless he can be, how it all just scratches his surface but then buries so much deeper into his heart, because Kai is-

Kai is no thinker.

But when he is a thinker, he thinks about his opposite of faith. And sometimes, when he allows it, he thinks about her.

When Hiromi wants to think about the opposite of faith (and she always does), she thinks about Kai's opposite of faith, and that the opposite of faith is darkness. Because without faith, all becomes ever so dark. Hiromi doesn't pretend that darkness doesn't exist, because it does. Hiromi doesn't pretend that she doesn't know that there is darkness in Kai's heart, that it beats just as surely as the rest of him does, because it does.

Hiromi wasn't born a thinker, and she never plans on being one. So she doesn't really understand Kai's actions all that much (or perhaps not at all) but she understands him, at least a little bit, and a little bit is more than enough for her. So she realizes that, in every breath he takes, and every move he makes, that he is reminded of what he has done, and what he was, and what no amount of forgiveness will ever erase. But Hiromi doesn't need to give forgiveness.

Without faith, all becomes ever so dark, she says before putting a hand on his soft cheek. But without darkness, there could never be any light, so let me be yours.

He puts his hand on hers and tells Hiromi that she always was.

2. Sheets

She holds out eleven yellow roses. Five in one hand, six in the other. She's quite unfamiliar with the idea of bouquets, so the flowers aren't together, nor are they tied. She tells him that she enjoys holding them in her hand like that; because that's the way she was taught. By herself.

She sits on the clean and pristine white sheets of his bed. It's not his bed per say, and he pretty much tells her so with a jut of his chin and a cold glimmer of his azure eyes. But she smiles softly (this is very unlike her) and tells him that he doesn't “have to be so macho all the time.” But she does sympathies about the sheets.

“They're not really your color,” says she. And that's pretty much right, because they look a little too pristine and white for him. Yuriy is not a very clean boy himself, but that's the part Hiromi likes best about him.

He looks at her with one azure eye open, and feels sorry that he doesn't know her name. Her ruby eyes look straight at him, and she feels sorry that she knows his.

“Your name's Yuriy right?”

“Yeah.”

“My name's Hiromi.”

She gives him one single rose. “A single rose any color,” she tells him. “Means simplicity and gratitude.”

He scoffs, gives the rose right back, and tells her that he isn't a simply boy nor that he doesn't need her gratitude. But his eyes glimmer, because he wants to show his. Just in a slightly different way.

The very next day, Hiromi's team is shocked speechless when they see the size of her hickey. Her ruby eyes glimmer just a little.

I like writing drabbles. They're just so…cool. And I hope you like reviewing (via email if on site or just review if on MM.org) them. By the way, I don't usually use the sub names of Anime characters unless I've actually seen the sub (like for Digimon), but I thought it would be nice to do something a little different.
