Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Together ❯ Reasoning ( Chapter 3 )
Meanwhile at the white tiger tribe
The whole team sat in Mariah's room, none of them wanting to speak. Suddenly Mariah couldn't handle it anymore. She smacked her fist on the bedside table. "I can't believe she would do something like that to us! I mean our first match is next week and she walks out on us? The nerve of that girl! If I get my hands on her!!!" "MARIAH, that's enough! She didn't leave to pester us. She left because she wanted to live life on the edge. I know her better than anyone, she really wanted to battle in our team. But this village was driving her mad! The same people every day, the same rituals, wouldn't that get boring for you to after a while?" -I know I'm tired of it -
All eyes were focused on him. It seemed to them he knew more about her leave than he had let them know. "Did she tell you anything that we never knew Ray? Did she write something more in her letter than she wrote in ours?" lee looked at him curiously. He had suspected that Ray hid some things from them, and he wasn't going to let this chance to hear him out get past him. "Why would she tell me anything more than she told u? All I'm saying is that I knew how she felt in this town, and she was bound to leave sooner or later." "But why now? And why in secret? I don't understand I thought we were all friends." "She probably didn't want an emotional goodbye, or otherwise she wouldn't have the heart to leave" "how would you know Kevin?" "It says here in this letter. And it also says that she hopes you'll understand and that you won't hate her for it, so Mariah, don't say she walked out on us again and next time read your letter CAREFULLY, before you start to say things like that"
"I don't hate her, I-I'm just disappointed, that she left like that. I mean her parents are heartbroken because she left." Ray shook his head at the comment. "They maybe sad about her leaving, but in their hearts they knew that their daughter would never be happy in this town. And you guys should respect her decision. I'm not too happy about her leaving either but I know that's what she wanted so get over it!" and with that he burst out of the room. More out of self-protection then anger. He hadn't slept one moment after Paris had run out of his room. He ran to the tree the whole group used to stay under and slammed his fist on the bark of it time after time. Why didn't he stop her? Why didn't he just grab her wrist and begged her to stay? These questions just kept playing in his head as he slumped to the ground. Sobbing.
Deep inside himself he knew the answer. He knew that is he were to cage her in this time, the fire she carried in her heart would weaken and eventually douse. Leaving nothing left of the girl but a shadow of what she used to be. He knew exactly how she felt. - If only she had waited for a couple of more days, I could've gone with her -
Just like Paris, he to was getting mad in the little town. Ever since Mariah had been with lee, things just got worse. Not that he was jealous. On the contrary he was happy for them, but they didn't need to rub it in their faces that they were an item. He shuddered as he remembered what had happened on a day when those two were supposed to be training. Ever since then he never went into a room without knocking first.
- She had to do what she thought was best before she started to bounce of the walls and went crazy. And it's not like you'll never see her again. She promised she'd come back didn't she?-_
Ray sighed. His conscience was right. But he wasn't going to wait around here until she came back.
And hey, maybe he'd meet her while he was travelling as well.
He just hoped his clan would understand
