Bleach Fan Fiction ❯ Always There ❯ Always There ( Chapter 1 )
[ A - All Readers ]
I seem to be obsessing over Byakuya and Rukia's relationship with eachother lately. I know that he loves her as a sister and that's what this stories about. Enjoy!
Blood. So much blood. Rukia looked around her. All her enemies were dead, but so were her friends.
She looked over to Uryuu. He looked with eyes that could not see over to her direction. Blood stained his white Quincy uniform and his glasses lay beside him, shattered and useless.
Next she saw Orihime, laying on her stomache looking as if she was trying to reach Uryuu. She had been pierced through her back and blood poured from her mouth.
Not far away, she saw Chad, his arm had been ripped off and he had been cut at the throat. His blood still flowed out of the wound.
Yoruichi. She was still in her cat form when she died. The small cat looked so helpless laying there, her body mangled, beaten, and useless.
Urahara, He had finally been beaten. His easy going personality would no longer be there.
She saw red out of the corner of her eye and turned to see Reji. She felt as if she was going to be sick. Tears started to trickle down her face as she looked down at her childhood friend.
When she couldn't look any more she turned to a body lying not far from his. Black cloak flowing around his legs he still held the black Zangetsu in his hand. His vibrant orange hair covered in blood. She looked at her friend, Ichigo Kurisaki. Tears flowing freely now, she turned to the last body.
He was lying not very far from where she was. His Zanpakto was also still in his hand. But Senbonzakura would no longer be of any use to him. Rukia was filled with racking sobs as her brother, Byakuya Kuchiki, lye there dying before her.
Rukia woke from her nightmare in a cold sweat, tears still streaking down her face. Lightning struck out side making her jump. Seeking comfort she made her way to her brothers room.
Sliding the door open, she quietly stepped inside. For a few seconds she loomed over his sleeping form, so as to confirm that her dream was not acctualy real. Another flash of lightning made her jump a bit and she went over to seat herself in the corner. Drawing her knees up into herself, another flash of lightning and thunder caused a small whimper to escape her.

Thunder rolled outside, but that was not the cause of him waking. The cause was a bearly audible whimper coming from somewhere in his room.
Slowly he raised himself to a sitting up position and looked over in time to see Rukia flinch as more lightning streaked the sky. She whimpered again. He looked at her quizzically, then he remembered. His little sister was afraid of lightning. It always caused her to have nightmares.
Lifting up one side of the blanket, he motioned for her to get under the covers. She quickly scurried under them. Folding the covers back over her, he drew her into his arms and rested his head on top of hers. Mumbling into his chest, she said,
“Arigato, Byakuya nii- san.”
