Everyone was now aware of the odd form the sky had taken. News shows even began recording it, revealing it on TV and reporters from all over began doing reports on it. Citizens of Karakura Town began to worry, though; from prevention of panic the mayor told them it was just a big storm on its way.
`Damn, this doesn't look good!' Ichigo continued to race through the city, still searching for his friends. Scared citizens ran around the area scared for their lives. Ichigo noticed, but was more focused on finding his friends.
He knew they were still alive because he could still feel their spiritual power, but had a gut feeling that if he didn't find them soon, their power could fade at any moment.
“Somebody help!”
Suddenly, Ichigo heard cries of help from up ahead, “Huh?!” He felt his legs run faster towards it. As he reached the destination, he noticed Karin, “K-Karin?!”
She was lying on the floor; a big block of cement crushed her left leg. She glanced up at Ichigo running at her. Tears filled her eyes from the pain.
“I-Ichigo!?” She glanced at him surprised. She noticed his outfit and the sword that was strapped on his back. But that wasn't her main concern right now.
“Karin!” He made it up to her and knelt down at her side. He examined the situation, “What happened?!” His voice was filled with worried-ness.
She clenched her teeth, “A…a piece of building…!” it was beginning to take more affect.
Ichigo got up and ran to the cement. He noticed a stream of blood running down from her crushed leg, “Hold on! I'm gonna get you out!” He pulled his sword out; he planned on cutting the cement so he could easily pull her out.
Then, with one quick slice, the cement went from one whole brick to pieces, giving Ichigo the opportunity to pull his sister out, “Are you ok?” He then asked as he held her close. She looked up at him and nodded.
“Where were you...?” She then asked sudden. Ichigo's mouth opened when he noticed her eyes slowly closing, “Karin!”
He saw the puddle of blood on the ground. At that moment he knew she lost more blood then he had thought. He then griped her and his sword and began running, carrying her home, “Karin, hold on!” He then shouted. He ran faster than ever.
Orihime and Chad had faced off with a couple more hollows. But because they were just “normal” Hollows, Chad managed to kill them all with one punch.
“Now what…?” Orihime then asked, her face filled with confusion.
They both walked in a now deserted town, because of so much fear from the sky.
“I don't know…I guess we continue to wonder…until we find someone.” He then replied. His voice seemed tired and dull.
She sighed giving a worried look, “I hope Ichigo is ok…”
He glanced at her, “Don't worry…knowing him, he's just fine,” Though his voice wasn't so cheery, Orihime knew that he meant it and that alone made her feel better, “Thanks…”
She then pulled out the last jar. Her eyes gave off such sadness, “I hope we can find the other Hollow…the sooner it's dealt with, the faster we can eliminate them and finish this nightmare…”
Chad nodded, “Yes…”
“My legs are killing me…” Aneko then complained. She glanced at Uryu; his face was pail and his eyes looked heavy, “Umm, Uryu…?”
He stopped walking and glanced at her, “Yes…what is it?”
“Are you ok? You look like you're gonna pass out…” She then replied. He nodded, “Yes…I'm just a little exhausted…I'll be fine…”
Aneko nodded as he continued to walk ahead, `Freakin' liar!' she knew he was lying, that or in denial. How could he not notice? If he was in denial then she worried he'd get himself hurt.
“Uryu…” She then spoke again. This time her voice was much softer.
“I'm fine!” He then snapped.
She got startled from his reply, “Uh, but…”
She glanced away, `Why? Why won't he just face it? He needs to rest…'
He then stopped and glanced at the sky. She noticed and gave off a confused expression, “Uryu…? What is it?”
“Umm…it's nothing,” He then continued to walk on.
“Huh…? Nothing…?” She knew from that moment, he was acting different, strange in fact. She ran up to him and stopped, in his way.
“What are you doing?” He then questioned, angrily. She got a better view of his face. He was sweating and his body trembled. She knew she had to do something and quick, “Uryu!”
“What…?!” He then yelled.
“You idiot! How can you act like nothing is wrong with you!?” She then asked. Her voice was filled with anger.
He blinked at her a few times before walking past her, “I told you…”
“-I know! You're fine! But…I know you're really not!” She then interrupted. She figured at least he would be straighter about something like this but stands corrected and an idiot.
“Aneko, I'm fine. I admit I'm feeling out of it…but we don't have time to just sit around anymore…we've wasted enough time. We need to keep looking…”
“For what?! All we keep saying is, “Let's keep on searching!” But let's face it…! We haven't found one damn “Super Hollow” or what ever the hell you people call them!”
Uryu looked at her a bit surprised. She gave out a deep sigh and glared away. She knew he wasn't going to take anything she said at heart. She figured she might as well stop while she's ahead. She just couldn't help but feel worried about him. She figured at this point she was being persistent.
“Fine…” He then spoke. Her eyes widened form his sudden word.
“You win…” He then replied in an exhausted tone. He leaned against a wall and sat down. He began panting heavily, like he lost his breath from running. Aneko rushed to him, “What should I do?”
He glanced up at her and managed a small smile, “Don't worry…I just need to rest…”
“Why is this happening to you?” She then asked.
He pulled out his hand, which had his crest bracelet, “I guess…it was from that last attack I used…” He then managed to reply. Aneko stared at the crest as it swung back and froth.
“Uryu…”
“If I just rest for a little…I'll be fine.” He then said in a reassuring voice. She nodded, but wished that he was able to rest at ease, on a comfortable bed instead of the side of a building. Or that he was in a warmer area instead of a dark, cold and dangerous place. She then gazed at the ground, her bangs dangling down. She sighed out loud thinking about things she wished for at the moment.
“Thanks…”
Aneko opened her eyes and glanced back up at him, “Huh…? Who are you thanking?” She then asked with a confused expression. Uryu leaned his head back against the wall and closed his eyes, “You…”
“Me?” She then asked, pointing at herself.
“Yes…”
She felt like smiling but in Uryu's condition she didn't want to, knowing he was suffering and all because of this mess, "Uryu…"
“Can I ask you something…?”
She glanced at him. She was a bit surprised by his sudden question, “Umm…sure.”
“When…you said I was weird…what did you mean?” His voiced was filled with a bit more emotion, instead of the dull, exhausted one.
Aneko gave him a blank expression, “What…?” She felt herself giggling at his silly question. He opened his eyes and looked at her. He had a smiled planted as well, “At the shop…you said I was weird.”
Aneko felt her cheeks burn a deep red, “If I said weird…I meant cute…”
Uryu's eyes widened, “Cute?” He then asked.
She looked away, “Sure…why not?”
He chuckled lightly, “Thanks… you're random…you know that?” He then replied.
Aneko felt her entire face turn a dark shade of red, `I'm random…?'At this point she was relieved she looked away when she did, otherwise Uryu might have seen how embarrassed she was from his choice of words. She didn't know how to reply to his comment, `Is that supposed to be a compliment?'
“Uhh…thanks!”
She paused giving herself a disappointed look, `Uhh…thanks?! That's the best reply you can come up with!? Good one Aneko!' She felt like smacking herself for being so stupid.
They both then heard a loud screech from afar, “Huh…?!” They both placed their attention towards the sky. They noticed a Menos Grande appearing from it. Aneko got up, running more towards the street, “A Menos Grande!?”
Uryu managed to get up, but was still facing the side affects from the last attack he used. Aneko noticed and ran back, helping him stand, “Uryu, you aren't planning on fighting it, are you?!”
Uryu nodded, “I have to…”
“Let me handle it!” She then offered. He shook his head, “No…it's too dangerous.”
“I can try! Please!” Her voice begged out. Uryu, once again shook his head no. He then pushed Aneko aside and independently walked towards the street.
“Uryu!”
He paid no attention towards her calls and began summoning his spiritual bow, readying an arrow. The Menos Grande then felt the spiritual power and glanced down, noticing Uryu. It made a loud war cry and began readying an attack. A dark energy ball was then being formed in its mouth.
Uryu took advantage and shot his arrow; it hit the hollow's mask but had no affect, “W-what the…?!” Suddenly, without warning it shot its attack at Uryu.
“Uryu!” Aneko grabbed her weapon and began running towards him. He noticed and placed his hand in front, “Stop!”
“What?!” She stopped, giving him a shocked expression. They noticed the attack inches away from them. Uryu managed to dodge the attack. The impacted made a big blast pushing Aneko against the building wall.
Once the smoke cleared, The Menos Grande noticed Uryu was gone. “Back here!” He then appeared behind it and shot his arrow in the back of its head, causing it to fall forward and into a bunch of building crushing them all.
Once Uryu landed, he fell on one knee. He felt all his energy drain from using two arrows, `Damn! How long can I keep this up…?'
He glanced back and noticed the Menos Grande dissolving into the air, “It's already finished?!” Suddenly a black hole began emerging from it, sucking everything.
“Damn it!” He ran back towards Aneko and the jars, “Aneko!” He noticed her laying unconscious beside the building wall, “Aneko!” He knelt down picking her up, “Can you hear me!?”
She began to slowly open her eyes, “W-wha…?” He gave a relieved expression.
“Uryu…?” He then helped her up, “Can you stand?” She nodded and stood up, “What happened...?” But before Uryu could answer she noticed the black hole over them, “What the hell?!
Uryu then grabbed the box that held the three jars. “We need to stop it!” He then announced.
“But…!”
He glanced at her, “But what?”
“How…? Which jar do we even use?” She then asked. Uryu paused for a moment and examined the jars. She had a good point. He didn't remember Urahara saying anything about that, that or he forgot. Uryu tried concentrating.
The wind then began pulling violently. Chunks of building began getting sucked in the hole. Uryu then realized that one of the jars appeared like a Menos Grande. Its lid looked like the face of one and the jars shape was formed like one.
`Is it this one?!' He then asked himself.
“Uryu! The hole is getting bigger!”
He went with his gut feeling and took the jar that appeared like the hollow. He planned to just throw the item in the hole but he noticed the wind was so violent that most of the items being sucked in were actually being thrown towards other objects. He knew that if he just threw the jar, the chances of it even touching the black hole were very slim. He needed to get closer towards the hole.
He noticed a rope behind him. But what were the chances of making it with just a rope? It was possible that it could break on him.
Aneko then ran up to him, “Uryu!” He glanced back at her.
“What are you trying to pull!?” She then questioned.
Suddenly the hole got much bigger that Uryu and Aneko had to grab onto a tree near by.
“What do we do? If we don't hurry up then the whole city will be destroyed!” Aneko then stated. Uryu glanced at the Jar then at Aneko, giving her a simple smile.
She noticed, raising an eyebrow, “What…? Why are you…?” She then gasped realizing what he was planning, “Uryu don't tell me you are…!”
“Ichigo…sacrificed himself…to save everyone.” He then spoke sudden, his voice filled with admiration.
Aneko shook her head, “No! Uryu don't you go and do the same, he'll come back you-!”
“-Aneko…if this is the only way…then I'm going to do it…”
Her eyes widened, “What!? No! No! Don't you go and pull that! Don't be a hero!” Her voice begged. He placed his hand firmly on her shoulder causing her to glance into his eyes. “It's ok…I'll be alright,” His voice then spoke with softness.
“Who are you trying to fool?! No you won't!” Tears began streaming down her cheeks, “No…no…don't do this! Please! There's always other ways! Don't leave me…!”
He then removed his hand from her shoulder and gently wiped the tears from her left cheek, “Don't cry…I'm counting on you to find Orihime and Chad and get rid of the other Hollows,”
“But…why…why are you choosing this way to deal with it? Why do you have to go and play the hero?!”
“I'm not…I just want to be able to save this city…this place where I came to…where I met people who called me their friends…where I learned so much along the way,”
“But…” She paused and looked away. She knew he made up his mind and there was no way to convince him to re-change it.
He griped onto the jar and began letting the tree go, “Please smile. You're only making it harder for me…” He then said smiling.
Aneko shook her head and grabbed his hand, pulling him back to the tree. He glance back at her with widened eyes, “A-Aneko…what are you-?”
“-Let me go with you…!”
He shook his head, “You have to stay…continue the fight. It's up to you and the others to help save everyone. I would never forgive myself if I let you die here and now,”
“…” She gazed down. Her bangs covered her sorrowful eyes, “You really are going to leave me…aren't you?” Her voice cracked up. Uryu gave her a sympathetic look and nodded, “There's no other way to stop the hole…” He then used his other hand to take Aneko's hand off his, “This is my decision and-”
“Uryu! Aneko!”
“Huh…!?” They both glanced to the side and noticed Orihime and Chad running towards them. Aneko grabbed Uryu's hand pulling him back. "A-Aneko…?!"
“Orihime! Chad!” Aneko then called their names shocked, ignoring Uryu, though Uryu was just as shocked to see them.
They then caught up to them, “Give me your jar!” Chad then demanded, though his voice wasn't so demanding. Uryu shook his head, “Don't worry I'm going to jump in the hole!” He then replied.
Orihime and Chad both gave him shocked expressions, “What, why!?” Orihime then asked. Her voice filled with confusion.
“Because, if I just throw it in chances are I`ll miss and it will shatter!” He then explained.
Chad grabbed the jar from him. The wind wasn't as strong for him so he had perfect control while Orihime held onto him.
“H-hey! Chad!”
He then threw it towards the hole, “Chad no! It'll just-!” Uryu then held his tongue when he noticed the jar actually making it towards the hole. It dodged all the items like it was alive and withstood the powerful wind, finally making it in the hole. Then suddenly, the black hole began calming and seconds later it vanished in one flash.
“…miss?”
Aneko's eyes widened with shock, “How did…?!” Her body gained gravity and landed on the ground, along with Uryu's.
“Theses jars are accurate, they never miss!” Orihime then explained as she let go of Chad.
Chad glanced at Uryu, “Yes…so you didn't have to go and do anything so extreme…”
Uryu looked away and pushed his glasses up, “Oh…”
Aneko wiped away any remaining tears in her eyes, “Thank goodness…”
“Uryu what were you planning to do!?” Orihime then asked suspiciously. Uryu glanced at Aneko, “Uhh…well…I thought that…”
“He was just going to do what he thought was right…” Aneko then spoke. Uryu gave her a shocked expression and then smiled, “Yeah…”
“…but it was actually stupid.” She then finished.
“Huh!? Wait a minute…!”
Ichigo ran and ran. He grew more worried and worried to the point of panic. He saw the Black Hole in the city, just before it vanished, knowing it was the others. He had just finished returning Karin to their home and explained to his dad that she got injured. That was when he saw it from his window.
`That's it! No more delays! If I don't hurry then it's all over!' He then noticed two figures standing in front of him, “Huh, who could that possibly be?!” As he ran closer towards the two strangers he realized who they were, “Renji! Rukia!”
“I-Ichigo?!” They both ran up to him, meeting half way, “Ichigo! You're ok!” Rukia then announced. Ichigo nodded, “Of course!”
She then punched him across the face, causing him to fall on the ground. “Ow! What the hell was that for?!” he then asked furiously, sitting up. But before she answered he got another unexpected punch across the same cheek by Renji.
“Damn it! What the hell was that one for?!” Ichigo then yelled getting irritated with the random punches.
“What the hell were you thinking last night!?” Rukia then asked. Ichigo looked at her shocked, his eyes widened. He had no idea they were all so worried about him. “Yeah…about that...sorry…”
She sighed and gave him a kind smile that only he would recognize, “I'm just…glad you're ok…”
Renji then stepped in. He glared down at Ichigo, “If you EVER make her or anyone else worry like that again, next time I'll kill you myself!” He then spoke with words so cold. Ichigo knew though, that Renji was also speaking for himself.
“Yeah…got it,” He then adjusted himself and gazed straight ahead, “Right now…Chad, Aneko, Orihime and Uryu are battling the hollows alone…”
Rukia and Renji nodded, understanding the situation, “Right…”
“…We should go and…” He then glanced back and noticed Renji and Rukia weren't there anymore, “Huh…what the…?!”
“Stop stalling time!” Renji then shouted.
Ichigo glanced back and noticed they were already heading towards the spot, “Hey wait up! Don't ditch me when I'm in the middle of my freakin' speech!”
“Don't tell me you're actually mad!” Uryu then asked Aneko. She sat across from him against a piece of ruined building, looking away from his direction, “Hump…!”
All four of them had decided to rest a bit. Chad and Orihime watched as they argued. Orihime sat next to Aneko and Chad sat across from them, with Uryu.
“For the last time, I don't want to talk about it!” Aneko then shouted. Uryu sighed and laid back. He gave up. She was obviously upset with him, it was ridiculous.
“Uhh…well, Uryu, do you need me to heal you?” Orihime then asked. She tired to break the awkward moment. He glanced at her, “Thanks…but I'll be fine. I just need a couple of minutes to rest,”
“Oh, ok…” She then glanced at Aneko, “How about you?”
Aneko's eyes shifted to her, “No, I'll be fine…thanks…” she then glanced away, puffing her cheeks.
Orihime sighed, “Alright…”
Chad then got up and walked out of their little hide out. “What's the matter?” Uryu then questioned.
“I…I'm not sure, but I feel Ichigo's spiritual power…” He then replied unsure.
“ICHIGO'S!?” They all then exclaimed shocked. Uryu got up to check it out, along with Orihime and Aneko. All four of them watched the end of the street as the presence got closer. Orihime then ran ahead stopping just a few inches from the group.
“Hey I think I see something!” Renji then announced. Rukia and Ichigo noticed as well. Once they reached a certain point they were able to make out who it was they noticed.
“ICHIGO!”
Ichigo recognized the voice, “Orihime…?!”
All three of them ran up to her. “Ichigo you're ok!” Orihime ran up to Ichigo embracing him in a hug.
He stared at her wide eyed, “O-Orihime…!”
“I'm so glad you're ok!”
He placed his hand on her head, “Sorry to have worried you…” Uryu, Aneko and Chad then caught up to them.
“It's about time you came!” Uryu then yelled, “It was becoming a pain in the ass to wait for you!”
Ichigo gave him a glaring look, “Well…who asked you to wait for me in the first place?”
“Shut up! You made us all wait!” Uryu then glared back.
“Gezz, I had no idea you cared so much, Uryu.” He then teased.
“Stupid idiot! Me? Yeah right!”
“Ichigo…it's good to see you're ok,” Chad then spoke. Ichigo glanced at him and nodded, “Yeah, it's good to see you're all ok, as well…”
Aneko then approached Ichigo, “I bet you were scared,”
He glanced at her, “Good to see you're still alive…” He then countered back.
“Whatever…I am smart enough to know that I shouldn't get myself into so much trouble,”
Ichigo paused and remembered something. He glanced at Orihime, “Are you hurt?” he then asked. Orihime gave him a bright smile, “No, I'm fine!”
“Good, how about you Aneko?”
She shook her head, “I'm fine...”
He then sighed in relief, “I guess I should be thanking you two for making sure they didn't get hurt.” He then said looking at Chad and Uryu.
“W-w-w-w-what?! You've got to be kidding me!” Aneko then shouted. Ichigo glared at her. “Don't talk. You're the biggest moron I know,” He then replied.
Aneko clench her teeth, “You little…!” She approached him, “-How can you say that Orihime and I can't even handle ourselves!?”
“I never said that Orihime couldn't…yes, probably you though…”
She then grabbed Ichigo by the collar of his Shinigami kimono, “Listen! I'm more likely to survive this if you gave me the chance!”
“Surrre…that's why you have scratches all over you and your elbow is bleeding…” He then stated, pointing at her elbows.
She loosened her grip on him and glanced at herself. She was covered in dirt and her elbow was bleeding. It was dry blood now. Ichigo then wrapped his hand around her wrist and moved it away from him, “Listen…I think you should head home. Let dad take care of your wounds,”
“Forget it! I'm not heading back home! Not until this is all over!”
Ichigo then sighed and moved behind her. She glanced back at him and gave him a suspicious look, “W-what are you planning…?” He then pushed her away from the group, “I wasn't asking you…I'm telling you,” He then replied.
“Ha! Since when would I ever listen to you?!” She gave off a smirk. He sighed giving her a small smile, “I'm warning you.”
“Is that a threat brother?” She turned her body facing him.
Orihime then stepped in, “C-come on…! I'm sure there's a better way to handle this!”
“Yes, you two are acting like children!” Rukia then stated. Aneko crossed her arms, “Well, he started it!”
“What?! I told you to go home! I'm only looking out for your safety!” He then defended.
Rukia sighed shaking her head, “…I rest my case…”
“Fine! Let's have a vote!”
Everyone then gazed their attention towards Aneko. “A vote…?” Uryu questioned. She nodded, “Who thinks I should stay?”
There was then an awkward silence in the air. Aneko noticed and felt the most awkward, “H-hey! Wait a minute! Why isn't anyone lifting their hands!?”
She glanced at Chad and Orihime. They both looked away. “Humm…?” She then glanced at Rukia and Renji. They both turned an opposite direction from her.
“Anyone…?” She then glanced at her last hope, “Uryu…you want me to stay…right?”
He shifted his eyes back and forth. He began sweating and pushed his glasses up, “Umm…well…err…” Ichigo then stepped in his way. He had a smirk planted on his face, “Looks like the tribe has spoken. I'll let you know how it goes…”
“B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but…!”
Everyone glanced at her knowing it was safe. They knew Ichigo wasn't trying to be so mean. In fact that wasn't the goal. He just wanted his sister out of the way. They knew it would make fighting a lot easier for him if she wasn't there, knowing she wouldn't get hurt.
“You're all really kicking me out…?” Her voice grew high pitched like a little girl on the edge of crying. She pouted and glanced at them.
“That won't work, Aneko…” Ichigo then stated.
“Damn it! Fine! I'll leave…! But I'll never forgive you all!” She then began walking away, cursing swear words.
End. Ha, ok…well hope that was enjoyable for you all! Plz comment!
