Chapter 6

Staring into those eyes sucked the air out of him. It felt as though the only things that existed were those eyes and him. They sort of scared him as though deep in those eyes was a beast ready to prance out on a killing spree anytime. There was also the spiritual pressure he sensed from this girl, this same girl that tortured him with her presence, that had the guts to treat him like some kind of child! Anyway, when was this contact going to be broken? It was starting to get way too uncomfortable.

He heard the teacher speak to the new students, Rika and Hikari. “Why don't you two take a seat? Rika you can sit on the one by the back beside Ikkaku, and Hikari, you can sit by the window behind Toushirou.”

Rika was the first to move to her designated seat. Not long after her, Hikari walked forward to her seat. On her way, she passed Ichigo with a brush of her arm against his. Ichigo froze and turned his eyes to hers once again. She stood there on the spot, silently challenging him to turn his gaze from hers. A slow smile spread on her lips and they moved. He could hardly get what she had just said until she decided to repeat herself, using a volume that only he could hear.

“It's a pleasure finally meeting you, Ichigo Kurosaki.”

With that said, she continued her journey to her seat and made herself comfortable. On the other hand, Ichigo was shocked in his seat and confused. 'What the hell? How did she know my name? Is it really her? What is this spiritual pressure I sense from her? And even if it's her, what's her purpose here?'

Right beside him, Rukia had watched the incidence glaring at her with suspicion and noticed the series of emotions that flickered across Ichigo's face.

Ms. Ochi tapped the desk gaining attention from the class. “Now then we shall begin class. Our topic for today is...”

Yoruichi Shihouin flash stepped to her destination, worry on her face. She had heard about the attack on Soul Society and the intruders that were responsible, one of them all too familiar to her. If she was actually here, that means she would pay certain people a visit. And the first on her list is most likely to be Kisuke Urahara, after all he was one of the people this whole thing had begun with. And the visit wasn't going to be a very friendly one.

She had finally reached her destination and her suspicion was correct. Sure everything looked normal to her, but the spirit energy was a completely different thing. She felt those of the occupants of the shack as well as a foreign one that was most likely hers. Pushing the straw-like door aside, a bell rung indicating that someone had just entered the building. From a corner, Tessai walked forward and recognized the new comer.

“Yoruichi, it's a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here?”

She smiled at him. “Oh just here to check up on you guys. By the way, are you ok? How bad is the bruise?” Yoruichi asked and pointed at the purple mark that was on Tessai's cheek.

Tessai wove her off. “I'm fine, this is nothing. Hell I think I got off better than the boss.”

She stared at him for a second before she poked the bruise. Tessai winced a bit but that was all she got from him.

“Hmmm it's still a bit tender. Boy she must've kicked your asses good.” She looked round. “By the way, where's Kisuke?”

He turned to the back door and walked forward. Taking the message, she silently followed him. The walk finally came to an end as he turned a corner and knocked on the door.

There was a groan before the occupant asked, “Who is it?”

Tessai replied, “It's me boss. Yoruichi's here to see you.”

It was silent before he replied, “Let her in.”

Tessai stepped aside for her to pass. She entered the room and stared at her companion who didn't look that great at all... That was even an understatement as to how how he actually looked. Cuts and bruises decorated his bare chest, the trail going down but was cut off by the blanket that covered the lower half of his body, some of them leaking blood. The bandages that were wrapped around his abdomen covered up a huge gap that she assumed was the worst. It was a miracle that he was actually able to survive from that wound. It looked really fatal and she could sense some kind of barrier around it, the same of the attacker's. Her eyes slowly strayed from his body and met his, amusement stuck in them.

He wiggled his eyebrows. “See something you like?”

She rolled here eyes. “Oh please Kisuke, what gave you that idea? Your body is battered up, what's so attractive about that?”

Being dramatic, he feigned crying, “Oh my little kitten, where could I have gone wrong?”

Seeing that this was getting her nowhere, she went straight to the matter at hand. “She was here, wasn't she?”

She didn't get a reply. All she got were hooded eyes staring at her, as if telling her that that was pretty obvious. She sighed. “I thought so.” She glanced at his body.

Kisuke sighed. “Yeah. I'm pretty much lucky to be alive. She even left a great gift for me.” He slowly placed his hand on the wound on his stomach. “She was even nice enough to put a barrier around it so that it'll take a long time for it to heal.”

“How are Jinta and Ururu?”

“They're fine. She didn't do anything fatal, just knocked them unconscious. Of course Jinta has a huge bump on his head and Ururu got a bruise on her face. It'll take a while for the mark to fade off but other than that, they're alive and safe.”

Yoruichi was curious about something else. “Come to think of it, things outside look as if nothing had happened at all, just normal. Why is that?”

“Hmmm... Well then I'll take it that she reverted things to how they were before the battle. She didn't want anyone getting suspicious.” He turned to the wall in front of him. “You were very lucky you were not here Yoruichi. She asked for you too you know.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Yes, I should consider myself lucky...” Silence. “Knowing a lot about her, I'm assuming she's going to ignore me but rather move on to her next target, the most important one.”

Kisuke nodded. “Yeah, and the only way to get closer to that target is of course to get close to his family...” He sighed and removed his hat rubbing his head. “He's in one hell of a surprise.”

The bell rang and the sound echoed through the whole building. Once it hit the final note, students rushed to meet friends for lunch. Hikari brought her notes together and sighed closing her eyes, somewhat grateful about the break. Sensing a presence, her eyes fluttered open and she realized that she was surrounded by a group of girls.

One of them, which appeared to be somewhat tomboyish, grinned at her. “It's so cool how you're actually too smart to be in elementary school, or even middle school! You must be some kind of genius, especially for your own age. Hell the only person that I know is that smart is Toushirou. Oh and by the way, my name's Tatsuki, and this over here,” She pointed to the bubbly girl beside her, “is Orihime, the sweetest girl in school.”

Orihime smiled at her, “It's nice to meet you Hikari.”

The young girl blinked and slowly smiled. “Nice to meet you too Orihime.”

She was suddenly grabbed and hugged tightly. The only thing that she noticed about the person that was hugging her was that she had red hair. She also happened to notice the hands that were slowly climbing up to meet her assets.

“My oh my Hikari, you're not only a really cute girl but also you are blessed with assets big enough for a fourteen year old, sweet delicious B-cups!”

Said hands were about to hand on their target only to be crushed in a tight hold by the victim. The perverted girl whined in pain trying to release her hands from the firm grip and the torture it was going through. The so called victim only smiled innocently at her and turned to get the full view of the girl that had tried to grope her. “Oh I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name.”

The grip on the hands tightened and the poor girl (A/N: Not!) winced out, “Chi-Chiz-Chizuru!”

Hikari's smile got wider. “It's nice to meet you Chizuru. Oh and by the way, when you wanna greet someone, trying to grope them is not the best approach.”

She let go of her hand and the girl crept away to nurse it, escaping from the grasps of the child-like but evil girl. Tatsuki was laughing her heart out and smacked Hikari's back, but not too hard. “Che! I like you even more now. You're definitely in my good book Hikari!”

She smiled. “Gee thanks Tatsuki. I'm glad.”

Not too far from the group, Ichigo and Rukia watched what was going on. She glanced at the boy beside her and turned back to the scene.

“Hey Ichigo.”

“What is it?”

She was quiet. “That girl... You sense it too don't you?”

“What are you talking about?”

She sighed. “I'm talking about the spirit energy she's emitting. One thing I know for sure is that she's not human.” She curled a finger underneath her chin in deep thought. “Could she be a soul?”

He glanced down at Rukia. “For a normal soul, that's a lot of spirit energy. And besides” He turned back to the girl, “she's more than a soul. And I for one would like to figure out what she is.”

Rukia stared at him for a minute before she asked. “Ichigo... Do you know her?”

He snorted. “Yeah you could say that. She's more of a pain in the ass than I could count for. The little annoying brat.”

Rukia blinked at him and turned back to the scene. What she didn't expect was to be looking directly into the girl's eyes. The girl smiled at her and resumed her chat with the girl she was previously talking to. Rukia's breath had hitched up in her throat. For a minute there, she thought the girl knew that she was the topic of their conversation. On the other hand, it's not possible that the girl could've heard them all the way from there, unless of course, she had acute hearing... Did she? It was then Rukia decided to snap out from her thoughts and noticed the boy that approached Hikari.

Back to the group, Hikari was laughing at a joke that the girl had made. She felt something on her shoulder and looked at the hand placed there. She turned round and stared at the boy that sat in front of her during class. All the girls had gone quiet, anticipating what was to come as they watched the duo stare at each other.

Toushirou finally spoke, “Come with me.”

They all stared at Hikari waiting for her reply. She looked at him searching for something in his eyes. She finally smiled at him and got up from her seat. “Ok.”

Toushirou walked out from the class followed by Hikari. They silently watched them until they left the classroom, that was when things went haywire.

“Did you guys see that?”

“I don't believe it!”

“Wow I didn't know Toushirou was that bold.”

“Who knew he of all people could do that?”

“Well there's a chance they're related.”

“If they are related, they'll be prefect for some good old inc- OOOOF!!!”

“That's going way too far you pervert!”

Ichigo sighed as he watched his childhood friend beat the snot out of the lesbian. He turned to Rukia and noticed she was staring at the door.

“That's strange... Why would Captain Hitsugaya be interested in her? Unless he noticed her spirit energy.”

With her mind set up on what she was about to do, she rushed off leaving Ichigo behind. It took a minute for the boy to take in what had just happened and he ran after the girl. With Rukia following the trace of the captain's energy, they both ended up on the rooftop. There they saw Toushirou standing by the railing and Hikari twirling round in circles. Curious about their conversation but not wanting to get caught, Rukia and Ichigo hid behind the door and a barrier was put around them so that their spirit energy would not be noticed and waited for them to start talking.

Toushirou just stared at the girl who was currently twirling in circles and giggling like a five year old. For someone who watched from far, he would assume that she was a lunatic but he knew better.

“Alright Hikari that's enough. You know why I called you here.”

She stopped her actions. “I have no clue what you are talking about.” She gasped. “Could it be you brought me here 'cause you're gonna confess?”

There was a faint blush on his cheeks. “Cut it out. That's not very funny you know.”

She wove him off. “Oh come on Toushirou, I was just kidding... After all you have Momo.”

“We're not here to talk about my love life.”

“That is if you have any...” She turned away from him to stare at the clouds. “So what is it?”

“You told me you've found him.”

“Yes.”

“Is the substitute shinigami Ichigo Kurosaki the one you've been looking for?”

“Yes.”

“What do you plan to do now?”

“Dunno. But I do know that she's on the loose. So I'm assuming that since I've found him, she probably knows as well.”

“Have you met him before?”

She giggled. “Yeah actually.” She brought her lips out in a pout. “He's not the nicest guy you know. That boy has a potty mouth, especially around a young girl like myself. He couldn't even ask me my name nicely.”

Toushirou sighed. “That's just how he is.”

She turned to him. “Either way, now we move on to the next part of the plan.”

“...I see...”

Behind the doors, Ichigo and Rukia had heard the entire conversation. Rukia was the first to speak. “So... she's no ordinary soul after all. In fact there's a chance that she's related to the attack on the Seireitei.”

“It's definitely her alright. The same girl that came to me in my dreams.” His eye twitched. “The little brat. I oughta go out there and-”

The rest of his words were cut off by what felt like a sharp blade placed dangerously on his neck. His body was frozen but his eyes glanced round for Rukia and he found the girl frozen staring at something behind him, most likely the one that had the blade against his neck.

“One slight move from you and I'll slit your throat...”

Well I wouldn't say this was my best chapter. Just something to make up for the weeks that I haven't updated. To be honest I'm not fully satisfied with it but it'll havta do. I've started working on the next one, hopefully it'll be better than this one.
