Silence

 

Tousen and Komamura often drank tea and talked.

 

They talked about normal things; what had happened recently in their own divisions, goings on within Soul Society, and who was a new candidate for captaincy and vice-captaincy in a particular division, when a spot opened up. It was as close to companionable chatter as either of them ever came.

 

Komamura did not speak about his childhood or his time before becoming a shinigami.

 

Tousen did not speak about clouds, or stars, or quiet.

 

Komamura never mentioned his face.

 

Tousen never mentioned his eyes.

 

Tousen and Komamura often drank tea in silence.
