Ichigo greatly disliked, no, extremely hated Soul Society. Every guy wanted to fight him, every girl plain out wanted him, and no one would leave him alone when he went there. He was starting to wonder why he actually decided to tag along with Rukia to this hell-hole. There was nothing he liked about it, but then he had a thought, yes, Ichigo had a thought. Rukia came from Soul Society. He liked Rukia, as a friend of course. So, to sum it up, he would do Rukia the favor of not complaining, it was his idea of going with her in the first place. He couldn't put his finger on it, but the reason he left his boring human-life routine, was somewhere in that iron box named Denial. If that was true, he better not look for it, he likes to stay in Denial when it comes to Rukia.

"I-chi-go?" Rukia chimed as she waved a hand in front of Ichigo's face. Five minutes of staring into space was kind of wierd. Ichigo snapped back to reality and looked down at her.

"What?" He asked calmly. It was like his brain had been on auto-pilot the whole time.

"What do you mean what? You were off in la-la-land for a whole five minutes." Rukia said, in her irritated voice. Ichigo gave her his smirk, the one that's between I-beat-you and Nice-to-see-you.

"Aw, what's the matter Rukia, miss me while I was gone?" He laughed as he bent down to her level. He should have known better than to let his face get within reach. As soon as he made eye-level, pow, knee in the chin.

"I was just wondering why you weren't complaining about how you hate this place." Rukia smiled as she watched him rub his sore jaw.

"Why would I complain, damn that hurt, I wanted to go, I think you chipped a tooth..." Ichigo mumbled sourly.

"Why would you complain? I don't know, maybe it's because you're Ichigo?" Rukia laughed. It was moments like these that she enjoyed, but sadly, because she was in Soul Society, she never got to enjoy them for long.

"Ken-chaaaan, look, it's Ichi!" A small pink-haired girl beamed loudly. Oh hell...

"Well, I'll be damned, if it isn't Ichigo..." A very large black-haired man grinned. Double-oh-hell...

"Damn...Zaraki...uh...run? Fight? No, no fight, I like breathing...Rukia, what do I do?" Ichigo asked as he hid himself behind Rukia, which didn't work too well because of the size difference.

"Leave it to me, I was thinking this might happen, so I made a plan..." Rukia smiled as she waved to Zaraki and Yachiru.

"Hi Ichi, hi...um..." Yachiru said as she began to get lost in thought, she couldn't remember if she had a nickname for Rukia or not.

"Ichigo, let's fight, or are you busy?" Zaraki asked as he knelt down to make eye-level with Ichigo and Rukia.

"Actually, yes, he does." Rukia cut in quickly. Zaraki wasn't going to start a fight with her in the cross-fire. She also liked her Ichigo in one piece, then she destroyed that mental note because it included the phrase her Ichigo in it.

"Really...?" Zaraki asked, very dissapointed.

"Yes, me and Ichigo were...um...uh..." Rukia said as she looked for an excuse. Sadly, she wasn't quick enough.

"On a date!" Yachiru beamed. Both Rukia and Ichigo looked like they had just been shot in the foot.

"Oh, I'll leave you alone then..." Zaraki grinned as he straightened up and walked off. It took both of them awhile to regain their composure.

"Does Zaraki gossip?" Ichigo asked slowly.

"No." Rukia answered. Ichigo sighed in relief.

"Yachiru does." Rukia muttered. Ichigo's sigh became caught in his throat and he began to choke on it.

"I...hate...Soul Society..." Ichigo said between coughs.

"I know you do..." Rukia said as she slapped Ichigo on the back. She didn't exactly like the place either. She preferred being in the human world, with Ichigo, and everyone else.

Ichigo really hated Soul Society, but if he had to go there to stay with Rukia, he'll have to suffer through. He denied many things about Rukia and himself, but that was one fact he had to admit. He wanted to stay with Rukia through thick-and-thin.
