The Warmonger

 

Ichigo watched as Ishida groped along the wall, fumbling with the faucets until the shower was off. “I know what I'm doing is wrong, Ichigo,” He admitted. A small part of Ichigo leapt in glee. Not only was Ishida wrong, but he was admitting to it. If the victory weren't so tentative, he'd be tempted to rub it in the Quincy's face. “You could say that I don't know how to do it right.” Ichigo found himself nodding along sagely; he couldn't agree more. Thankfully, he managed to stop himself before Ishida noticed. It wouldn't do to have him take offense and destroy any progress they might be making. “But if you want to show me, Ichigo—“ Ichigo held his breath. If Ishida said something crude, he couldn't be held responsible for his actions. “Then I'd be happy to learn.”

 

Ichigo would never live down the goofy grin on his face. At the moment, he couldn't care less. Carefully, he pressed forward, bracing a hand on either side of the Quincy's face, pressing their foreheads together and looking in through those foggy glasses. “Why, Ishida Uryuu,” he carefully kept the snicker out of his voice, “are you saying you'll go out with me?”

 

Ishida brought a hand up, pressing his open palm over Ichigo's face and forcing his head away. “I am saying, Kurosaki, that I'm willing to consider some of these emotions that are so keen on.” His tone, rich with amusement, softened the words, “as they seem to have become prerequisites for the physical aspects of our relationship.”

 

Ichigo allowed himself to be pushed away. He felt lighter than he'd been all day. With a grandiose gesture, he pulled back the shower curtain, ushering Ishida out. “And if you ever want to enjoy the physical aspects again, I suggest you get out of my shower.” Turning the shower back on, Ichigo allowed himself a small smile. He'd won the first concession; it was only a matter of time before the rest followed.
