Chapter One

The New Girl

 

AN: the prologue said Reanna was seven I meant Twelve. ^.^'

 

Ichigo Kurosaki was walking home from school one Friday evening, just after leaving detention. “Stupid teachers and their stupid rules.” Ichigo mumbled. A bike and its rider were coming up the hill ahead of Ichigo but the rider seemed to be losing control. “WATCH OUT!!” a girl yelled. The rider, who had yelled out to Ichigo, wore a school uniform and had yellow eyes and blondish white hair. The tips were shaded a dark purple. She reminded Ichigo of Yuroichi (sp??). In his trance, Ichigo didn't realize that the girl was about to barrel him over. “I SAID MOVE YOU IDIOT!” the girl yells before turning the bike and bailing off before it hit a dumpster. “Who are you?” Ichigo asks. “Reanna, but you can call me Soya.” the girl says, “And Urahara told me to find you, a girl named Orihime and two other guys named Chad and Uryu. Oh and Kon!” Soya palmed her forehead and ran over to her bike. The front reflector was broken. “How do you know Urahara?” Ichigo asks. “He's my cousin. I used to live in the U.S. but I moved here.” Soya replies. Ichigo took it all in. “O.K. This new girl from here but moved to the U.S. and then moves back. She looks like a cross between Urahara and Yuroichi but she acts like Orihime and….. I AM TOO CONFUSED!!” Ichigo's mind roared. “Hey, Ichigo?” Soya asks. “What?” Ichigo replies. “Can we go get Orihime, Chad, Kon, and Uryu?” Soya asks. “I guess……” he says. He leads Soya into his house where she automatically hits it off with his sister, Karin. He comes back with a lion that is protesting until he sees Soya. “Hey Ichigo, who's the pretty girl?” Kon asks. “Reanna but you can call me Soya. I can tell by the way his eyes look he's a pervert.” Soya tells Ichigo. He nods and then they head off for the others.

 

When they arrive at Urahara's, Soya runs in and hugs Urahara. “COUSIN!” she yells. Urahara had a look that said, “HELP ME!” Orihime giggled and Soya let go. “So what did you need me to pick up the groups for?” Soya asks, “And why did I have to bring the substitute soul?” “Eh, why does she know that I'm a substitute soul?” Kon asks. “I have ways. [^.^]” Soya says. Ichigo and the gang were shocked. “Are you a… soul reaper?” Ichigo asks. “Yeppers!” Soya yells. “Uhm…..” Urahara says, “Can we focus please?” “Oh uh sorry.” Soya says. “We have another problem with Izen. He is planning to launch an attack on the soul society and that the Soul society has issued a summon for all soul reapers, substitute or otherwise. “But why am I here?” Uryu asks. “You are to creat armor out of these *grunt and lifts up a few boxes labeled different names* materials. There is diamond dust cloth, steel cotton, and the metal sheeting is for outer armor.” Urahara says. “Got it.” Uryu says, glad he gets to sew. “What do I do, cousin? You know that if I fight, I'll only get in the way.” Soya says, looking down at her lap. “If you would just draw your sword, then you could help.” Yuroichi states harshly. “You know the last time I did that, I killed my little sister!” Soya yells back, tears welling up in her eyes. “You've gotten better at it, and, Aoi Sora is the only sword that could be right for you.” Urahara says. Soya crosses her arms and stands. “I'm going to train.” Soya says as she opens the sliding screens. She shuts them, and goes out to a field by the river.

 

“Urahara, what's the story behind her sister?” Chad asks. “Well, let me start at the beginning. Kana, Soya's sister was born three seconds after her but Soya was a weaker infant. Kana and Soya were best friends and one day while in the soul society, they received their Zanpaku-to. Kana's was a nameless Zanpaku-to. But Soya's was blade Ichi- Aoi Sora: Blade One- Blue Sky.” Yuroichi said. “After they received them, all they did was train. In a sparing battle, Soya activated her bankai, unknowingly. She loses control and her sister is killed. From that day foreword, Soya only draws the sword during training.” Urahara finishes. “Uhm…. Where's Ichigo?” Orihime asks.

 

Soya slashed out at a rock, sparks flying. Ichigo watches her from the safety of a tree. “I know you're there Ichigo. You can come out.” Soya says. Ichigo comes out, only to be elbowed in the face. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING, SPYING ON ME!?” Soya asks. “Actually, I came for you so we could go to the soul society.” Ichigo replied, slightly annoyed. “Alright fine.” Soya says as she sheaths her sword.

 

Back at the shop, the group leaves for the Soul society.
