He jerked upright, quickly, looking around frantically with sweat plastering his still slightly damp hair to his forehead and the sides of his face.
“Was…was it all a dream?” he asked himself, standing to his feet and pulling on a pair of hakama pants he had laid out for himself. A shudder ran down his spine as the sudden dawn of realization washed over him, she was a ghost, and this was turning out like that book.
He may have to find a way to her, find a way to that time and save her from that terrible death; she was calling to him, she wanted…no, she needed him. And he would be damned to hell, before he declined his destiny.
He shook his head, pulling on a shirt and tying the sash of his uniform, then slipping on a clean captain's uniform. He unlocked his door, sliding it open and slipping out into the cool breeze of the open window.
He shook his head his hair drying the rest of the way, and shooting upward to its normal posture of defying gravity. He moved out of his room at a leisurely pace, not in a hurry, though he wanted to find out how to get to this girl to save her from her awful fate of death.
He was submersed in his thoughts as he walked the stone, marble, and wooden sidewalks until he reached the library. Pushing past the doors, he moved to the section of shelves he thought the passages would be at, and to his good fortune he found them! He grabbed every single one, and used his Flash Step to return to his room.
He slid back into his bedroom, sliding the door closed and locking it. Plopping himself down upon the bed he opened the first passage and began reading, he found the segment in which described the lore of that day; the day that played so vividly in his dream. He continued reading until he came to the end of that passage, changing to another one he began reading; he finally found what he was looking for.
“There…has to be a gateway?” he asked himself as he read on, his mental wheels churning as he thought of how to accomplish this trip to the past, it was over four thousand years ago, he was still alive then. And idea sprang to mind, he could use the Bount!
He needed a gateway into Hueco Mundo so that he could move through that period of time, to get to this girl, he needed to. He grumbled, not really certain how to do this, but he was wasting time worrying about it.
He grabbed his Zanpakuto, and ran from his room leaving the passages scattered across the floor and his bed. He used Flash Step to send himself quickly to the gate into the living world, and entered, moving fast along the ground until he reached the other side, he kicked off of his heel and flew through the air; using Flash Step after Flash Step until he reached his destination, the Bount hide-out.
Once he landed upon the ground, he knew he set off their sensors; but none of the Bount came to “greet” him. He secured his Zanpakuto over his back, and jumped upward to land upon a gate, then slipping past it he moved within the hide-out.
Scanning each and every room before moving down into the basement, it was more like a mid-evil dungeon. He grimaced as he saw fully intact bone structures hanging from shackles lining various portions of the walls, moving through it he reached the gateway he needed.
Remembering what the passage said, he repeated those same things and the gateway opened. He used a Flash Step to send himself quickly through to the Hueco Mundo, then kicking off his heel once more with a Flash Step he sped through a time loop, sending himself back to that time. He cleared his throat as he ended up in a distant clearing of Soul Society. He looked about, gathering his location.
He heard it, the attack; he sped quickly toward the location, kicking off his heel as he drew his Zanpakuto. “Sit upon the frozen heavens, Hyorinmaru!” his blade transformed upon the call, a crescent shaped blade appearing at the hilt of his sword; attached by a chain.
He huffed lightly staring at the scene before he jumped into action, swinging his Zanpakuto downward, a large wave of ice in the form of a dragon slammed into and through three Hollows at once; effectively destroying them.
He then tossed the chained crescent blade to the mask of another Hollow, freezing it, and then tossing his blade upward; he stabbed it through the mask, watching it disappear. The last Hollow came bounding to him, and he jumped upward, swinging his Zanpakuto downward to rid the vicinity of that Hollow as well.
After the battle was done he wiped his blade slightly, it returning to normal and he slid it back into the confines of its sheath. He looked about at the destruction that he saved the Soul Society of this time; a small smile came to his face as he sighed softly.
