ForeverDestiny: I'm back! Yes, camp was, um, different to say the least. On the fourth day, a forest fire started a little over a mile away and we were on evacuation alert the whole time. It does make for a good story, though. It was drama camp and we put on the production, Once on this Island, which is now my favorite play ever! If you get the chance, SEE IT! But I'm back now, the play's over, I'm a bit depressed, listening to the Phantom of the Opera CD for the seventh time today, so I decided to type Chappie 3. I don't own anyone but the cloaked figure and the dimensional spies. So, onward!

Chapter 3

The Journey

I jolted around at the sound of the voice. TK, of course, jumped in front to shield me from any possible danger. The figure, though, didn't seem dangerous. It was a cloaked figure, kind of like Gennai, but not quite. From the frame and the tone of voice, you couldn't tell if it was male or female. All you could catch was a glimmer of blue underneath, either hair or eye, I couldn't tell. The figure went on.

"What? Have I startled you?" I slowly regained my composure. The figure didn't seem dangerous, no, but lots of evil things never seemed dangerous. It even seemed to have a slight English accent. This was getting on Li's nerves for some reason. I was getting more scared by the second. A quick glance showed me that while the rest of the girls were scared, the boys had all placed themselves in front of us. Trust a boy to protect the girl. I smiled at this thought. TK would protect me from the deadliest peril and the looks on the faces of the other two boys showed that they felt the same way. Good ol' boys. The figure laughed.

"Please, talk to me. I'm not going to bite. I feel like I'm on display. It's not like I'm going to harm you." The voice lowered a bit. "Although I might consider it if I don't get a response soon." Li was the first to act on the cloaked one's words.

"You won't harm anyone while I'm around." Under his breath, he added. `You won't lay one hand on Sakura.' Li continued. "Who are you and where are we?" Once again the figure laughed, but not as good-naturedly.

"Well, you may call me `Luna' for the time being. You may find out my true name but that will wait for later. As for where you are, well… a desert of course!" Luna laughed. "You want specifics but even if I gave them, you would not understand. Let's just say you're far from home." Ash gave him/her an odd look. "You want to know how far, Ash, old chum? Well, you're in another dimension." We gaped.

"A-a-another d-d-d-dimension?" I choked out. "How? Why?" Once again, `Luna' laughed.

"How? Well, it's very simple if you have the kind of technology that I do. And a few spies along the way." Luna snickered. "And as for Why, well, one can say it gets boring having all this great equipment and nothing to do with it. So, I sent out my spies to gather vict-um, participants for my little experiment. You six were simply perfect. How could I say no? So, my little friends, what do you say? Are you up for a little fun?"

~***~

I shivered. For some reason, this figure's words were scaring me. I could tell that its intentions were not as simple and good-natured as they tried to explain off. Ash was shielding me from the figure although it didn't look as if the figure itself could do much damage. It looked like a simple human form underneath a big, brown cloak. What was so scary about that? Still, I didn't trust it. Li spoke up.

"I don't think we want to be part of your little experiment. Send us back to where we came from, now!" Luna laughed again. "I said do it now!" Luna laughed harder.

"My boy, do you really think you can order me around like that? I know all about your magic, yes, but you still can do nothing to stop me from doing what I will do. I don't think you have a choice in this matter. You will participate whether you like it or not!" With a snap of the fingers, Luna had blackened everything. I couldn't see.

"Hello?" I called out. "Ash? Sakura? Kari?" I heard a cough to my left. "Who's that?" "Sakura." "Kari? Are you there?" I bit farther away I got my reply. "Yeah, I'm here." "Ash?" Silence. "Ash?" Silence. "ASH?" Silence. Then I heard something that made my blood freeze. The booming voice that had summoned me here.

"You have three days to complete Stage One of the experiment." With that, there was a snap and it was light again. I looked out after my eyes adjusted to the light. Kari, Sakura, and I stood in the middle of the desert with a note and a backpack.

~***~

The first thing that ran through my head was `Where's Li?' but I obviously couldn't answer that. I had no idea where Luna had taken the boys but the other girls and I hurried over to the backpack and note. I looked down at the note and made a gesture with my head. Misty nodded and I picked up the note. I began to read:

Hello Girls,

I have taken the boys to a holding cell where you must rescue them within the next three days. After the three days, I cannot guarantee what will happen, so, hurry! I have left a few items behind to help you in your journey. I hope you find use for them, although I'm sure you will. Good luck and I hope to see you soon!

-Luna

I looked down at the items the note had indicated. I didn't recognize two of them but the third was awfully familiar. I reached down and grabbed it, sliding it around my neck as I did so. The other two looked at me, questioningly. I smiled.

"It's my Clow Key. It allows me to control the Sakura cards. I can do lots with this beside me." They nodded and Kari looked in the backpack, emerging with a small, electronic device.

"My D3." She explained. "It let's Gatomon digivolve. Maybe if I fiddle with it, I can get Gatomon into this dimension." I nodded. "Try." I said. She smiled and sat down, pushing buttons on it. Misty looked into the backpack. She didn't pick anything out. She looked confused.

"Where's my item? Unless.." She picked up the backpack and looked on the bottom. "It's my backpack! And," she unzipped a compartment. "my poke'balls! Yes!" I smiled. We were building up quite an offensive. I was about to congratulate Misty when I heard a weird, swirling sound. I glanced behind me to see Kari pushing a button on her D3, opening a small portal. Through it, I could see a girl's bedroom, decorated in pink. I smiled. Kari attempted to stick her head through it but it knocked off like there was a sheet of glass.

"Luna must have fixed it so we can open portals, but not go through them." Kari nodded and turned back to the portal. She got as close to it as she could, then called softly into it, "Gatomon?" A small, white head peaked up from a spot on the bed. "Kari?" It asked softly. "Kari, why are you on the other side of a portal?" Kari sighed. "Long story, Gatomon. Just try to get through the portal, ok?" The cat figure sighed. "Alright, Kari." The cat took a running leap through the portal as it closed, landing next to me. I smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Gatomon. I'm Sakura and that's Misty." The cat smiled and nodded. She then turned to Kari.

"What's up?" I smiled and grabbed the key around my neck.

"We're off to rescue the boys!"

~***~

They've taken the bait. Now, to watch. I glanced at the other monitor, showing me the boy's holding cell. TK and Ash sat in corners, thinking, while Li kept banging his fist against the walls. I felt kind of bad for separating him from Sakura. I knew how bad they missed each other and how strong his urge to protect her was. I also knew how strong that urge ran for TK about Kari as well. I just hoped they could last three days. It would take that long, of course. Just crossing the desert was hard. At least Kari had managed to get Gatomon in this dimension. That was progress. Well, I was tired. I switched off the monitors, told the spy outside to check every half an hour and make sure they were the same, and made my way to my room. Bed for now, but later, my plan would begin to unravel.

To Be Continued

ForeverDestiny: Well, that's it for now. I'd like to thank the people who reviewed while I was gone. I started writing this after not reading fanfics for over two weeks but I had to rewrite it because it sucked. This is the revised version, much better. I like writing from `Luna's' p.o.v. It's fun. `Luna' is my old nickname too, so, I guess the dark force is kind of based on your authoress * snicker * Okay, I'm not that evil. Well, from me and my not-so-murderous muses who decided to stop trying to kill me after I almost died at camp * Wizardmon, Misty, and Li wave * Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow!
