"Sakura-chan!!" the excited Tomoyo shouted upon the DigiDestined's arrival in the Rolling Plains.
"Tomoyo-chan! Kero-chan!" Sakura shouted as Pseudomon sat on her head.
Kerochan fluttered up to Sakura and Syaoran. "Heh. Looks like the Chinese brat has been treating you fairly, huh?" he asked. Kagemon growled at him. Intimidated by the larger creature, the orange critter backed up. "Oi..." He hid behind Tomoyo.
Koushirou opened up his laptop, to find that he had mail. "Nani... another e-mail from Gennai! It says... 'You're doing good in capturing the Digi Cards, but watch out, I have a premonition that something really bad's going to happen, and it will be next to impossible to correct it...' Hmm. I wonder what that means?"
"I suppose it means something like... we should stay on guard if anything does happen," Kamira said, sitting next to Koushirou on a nearby log. Ryouumon was perched on top of her head.
"No worries, whatever it is, I'm sure I'll be able to protect you," the cabbitlike Digimon said.
"A bit full of yourself, eh Ryouumon?" Heza asked as she walked over to them. "Kamira-chan, Yami and I are gonna go and look for some food. Do you guys want to come?"
Kamira thought for a moment. "Iie.. I think I should get to know Ryouumon better, since he's my partner and all..." she said, looking up at her friend.
Heza shrugged. "Suit yourself.." She then ran off to join Yamato.
Lunamon approached them. "Do you guys really think it's good for her to go off by herself...?" she asked.
"She's not by herself, Lunamon. Ishida-san's with her," Kamira said, smiling at the Rookie digimon.
"I know, but... what if something bad happens to them?" Lunamon asked, concerned. "I should go with them..."
"Wait, Lunamon. The email from Gennai... he only said it was a prediction. I doubt that anything bad will happen that either of them won't be able to handle..." Koushirou said, shutting his laptop.
Tentomon fluttered his wings a bit. "But isn't Gennai usually right?"
"You forget, Tentomon... the Digital World is a lot different than what it used to be. Sure, the wild digimon ARE powerful and more numerous... but that's never stopped us before, ne?"
Lunamon sighed. *I still think I should go with Heza-chan... I don't know what I'd do if anything bad happened to her...*
"I think this fruit will work..." Heza shouted from up in a tree. She plucked a piece of fruit from the tree and threw it down to Yamato, who was standing below with a basket.
"I think so too," Yamato said, examining the pearlike object. He put it into his basket. "Heza-chan, let's take a break. My basket's getting heavy!"
Hea climbed down from the tree. "Good idea... I don't feel like climbing anymore trees!"
The two of them walked through the forest a bit. Just past a group of Yukimipotamon, which Heza just *had* to stop and comment on their cuteness, was a lake. A familiar lake.
"Nani... this lake..." Heza muttered as she stared at the crystal-clear water. She approached the lake's edge.
"Is something wrong, Heza-chan?" Yamato asked, standing next to her.
"I recognize this shoreline... Yama-chan, this is where Kitamon's egg first hatched!" she said, grinning.
"Hey, you're right... isn't that weird? I would have thought that after the Digital World reformatted itself, this place would have moved..."
"I guess some things stayed the same..." Heza sat down. "Oi... I'm tired..."
"Hai, me too," Yamato said, setting his basket down.
They were silent for a moment, until Yamato spoke up. "You know, Heza-chan... we sure have changed in the last four years, ne?" he asked, turning to her.
She nodded. "Hai... it seems like everything that happens brings us all closer..."
Yamato smiled. He slowly started to lean forward. Heza closed her eyes.
But something didn't feel right. There was a certain prescence around the area, and Yamato didn't like it. "Heza-chan... I have a feeling that we're not alone..."
Heza opened her eyes, puzzled. "Nani?"
Yamato looked in every direction. "Taichi? Is that you? Wherever you are, come on out!"
But it wasn't Taichi. A strange black fog, much like the one that formed Cloudramon, seeped into the area.
"Ahh! What IS that?!" Heza shouted.
Suddenly, Yamato's eyes went wide. He grabbed his head and fell to the ground, obviously in pain.
"Yamato?! Yamato! What's wrong?!" Heza asked, kneeling down beside him. He didn't answer. He lay on the ground, his eyes squeezed shut. *What's happening? What is with that fog? Is it what's giving Yamato a headache...? If that's why, then why isn't it doing anything to me?* Heza thought.
Yamato then tried to stand up, still holding his head. "Aaaagh..." The fog slowly began to wind itself around him, like a snake.
"Yamato?! Can you hear me?!" Heza shouted, reaching for his arm. He then started to flash a bit. Heza watched in horror as he disappeared, right before her eyes. "Kami-sama... NO!!"
************************************************************ ********
Kamira's eyes snapped open. "Nani?!"
"What's the matter, Kamira-chan?" Ryouumon asked.
"I have a really bad feeling... something awful's happened..."
"What do you mean?"
"Ryouumon, we've got to find Heza-chan! I think something might have happened to her!" Kamira said, standing up.
Taichi, upon hearing Kamira's statement, stood up. "Nani? What kind of thing?" he asked, looking the blue-haired girl straight in the eyes.
"I don't know, Taichi-kun... but we have to find her! And Yamato-kun too!"
At that time, a loud scream penetrated the depths of the forest and reached the DigiDestined's camp. "Nani?! What was that?"
"That sounded like Heza-chan! Come on, Taichi-kun!" Kamira shouted, running in the direction of the forest. Ryouumon was still perched on her head.
"... Right!"
"Yamato!!"
"They're coming from over there!" Taichi said, pointing a a patch of bushes. Upon crashing through them, Taichi and Kamira saw Heza, sitting on her knees. "Heza-chan?! What happened?!" Taichi asked, running over to her.
Heza looked up at him, her eyes red from crying. "I... I don't know! Yamato and I were just sitting here, and... this black fog came up behind us, and.." She swallowed the lump in her throat. "Yamato grabbed his head like it was hurting, and then he just disappeared into thin air!!"
"Oh no... this is just like Gennai's prediction..." Kamira said, kneeling down beside her friend.
Taichi looked at Heza with concern. He knew how much she loved Yamato, and what could happen if they were seperated. On an impulse, he put his arms around Heza and hugged her, just like Yamato would. "Hey... it's gonna be okay, we'll find him..." he said.
Heza stopped crying for a minute. "..." Her face turned a bit pink.
Kamira looked at them, concern in her eyes. "Come on, Heza-chan... let's go back to camp..." she said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Ryouumon looked down from Kamira's head in wonder. *What is this feeling I'm getting? Yakanori-san looks so sad... Oh well, I'm still young. I'll ask Kamira-chan about it later.* he thought.
Heza nodded, and the four of them began to make their way back to camp.
************************************************************ *******
Yamato was in a great deal of pain. His back hurt, his legs hurt, everying hurt. He slowly opened his eyes to see a blurry darkness. "Nani... what happened...?"
"Ishida-san. Didn't think I'd see YOU here." a sudden voice said.
Yamato turned his head to see a blurry mess of light. He finally focused on a boy with purplish-black hair, pale, skin, and jet-black eyes. He rubbed his own eyes in misbelief. "Yan Kyoto?!"
"You have a good memory, Ishida-san. I'd like you to meet my new associate. Chiikomon!" The small vulture fluttered into the room and perched on Kyoto's shoulder.
Yamato sat up and glared at the boy. "Where's Heza?!"
"Ah, the bishoujo-subeta... she's just fine, I'm assuming. She is still in the other part of the Digital World."
"And since when are you in the Digital World?" Yamato narrowed his eyes.
"Since I became a DigiDestined," Kyoto said. "Behold the NeoCrest of Anarchy!" he shouted, holding up a black pendant with the sign of anarchy hanging from it.
Yamato was confused. *What IS this? Yan-san CAN'T be a DigiDestined...*
Kyoto gnawed on his thumbnail. "Chiikomon, something's missing..."
The bird sweatdropped.
"CHIIKOMON! Where's that weird reptile with the fur coat?!" Kyoto shouted.
"Uhh... just a minute!" Chiikomon fluttered over to a hole in the wall and squawked loudly. Within seconds, Gabumon flew out of it and landed on the flor in front of Yamato.
"Gabumon!!" Yamato ran over to his friend, who groaned a bit in pain.
Kyoto crossed his arms and sneered, Chiikomon perching on his shoulder. "So, Ishida-san... are you ready to come over to the Dark Side?"
Yamato glared at him. "Never..."
"Hmm. Looks like I shall have to use force... Chiikomon, that's your cue."
Chiikomon fluttered into the air, his eyes glowing red. "Black Amnesia!" As he flapped his wings, the same black fog that had attacked Yamato earlier wrapped around him.
"What in the...?" Suddenly, Yamato's eyes glazed over, and his pupils disappeared. He slumped over limply.
"Now, fool... you will not hesitate to join forces with me..." Kyoto's eyes glowed bright red, as did Yamato's. "You will return to your little friends in the Rolling Plains... and destroy them!"
"Destroy the DigiDestined..." Yamato stood up slowly, his eyes holding the same darkness.
Kyoto smirked evilly. "Now... are you ready to find your so-called friends?"
Yamato narrowed his eyes and nodded.
********************************************************** **********
Back at camp...
"I told ya so. I deff'nitely shoulda gone with them. Yup yup," Lunamon muttered under her breath, pacing back and forth.
Heza sat on a log, Kamira and Taichi sitting on either side. Ryuoomon jumped down from Kamira's head, onto Heza's. "You okay?" he asked.
Heza only sighed, and shook her head. *Why did it have to be Yamato? Why couldn't they have taken me instead...?*
Just then, Patamon fluttered up to them. "Have any of you seen Gabumon?"
Taichi blinked a bit. "No... Why do you ask?"
"I don't know. He just seemed to disappear right before you all got back." Patamon hovered down to the ground.
"Hmm... thet's really weird. Yamato disappeared too... do you think there could be come sort of connection?" Kamira asked, turning to Heza and Taichi.
"I don't know..." Taichi scratched his head.
"I don't want to know..." Heza muttered. She suddenly looked up as if she sensed something. "Wait one second... what's that coming up over there?!" She pointed a bit to the right. There was what seemed to be a tall boy walking toward the camp. He had spiked blonde hair and was wearing a green-and-blue shirt.
"Nani? That looks like Yamato-kun," Kamira said, squinting a bit.
Heza stood up. "It is!" She began running toward him.
Kamira stood up. "Something's not quite right, though..." Her eyes then opened wide, and glazed over.
*It is not him...*
"Kamira-chan?" Ryouumon muttered, rubbing against her ankle.
"I... I'm fine, Ryouumon..." But Kamira didn't seem fine. She watched as Heza ran up to Yamato at nearly top speed. "Just fine..."
Heza looked at Yamato a bit strangely. "Yamato... are you okay?" she asked, concerned. His head was hung low, and he said nothing. *Something's different about him...* she thought. She took his hand, and motioned back to the camp. "Let's go back to camp... everyone's worried about you and Gabumon..."
Yamato lifed his head. His eyes were unusually dark, and appeared to be glazed over.
"... Yamato...?"
Yamato raised his hand, which seemed to pulse with energy. Just then, ArcticGarurumon flew overhead. He also had the same dark look in his eyes. He focused them on Heza, and began gathering energy. "Icicle Cyclone!!" He fired his attack right at her.
"What the--?!" Heza was then tackled from the side, and hit the ground hard.
She blinked as Taichi stood up, and faced Yamato, glaring at him. "Yamato, what the hell has gotten into you?!" he shouted.
ArcticGarurumon hovered to the ground. Yamato narrowed his eyes. "I'm not the Yamato that you used to know, Taichi..."
"Well, I can see that! But what are you thinking, commanding ArcticGarurumon to attack HEZA-CHAN, of all people?! You love her!"
Yamato looked to Heza, who was looking at him with a mixture of hurt, confusion, and pain in her eyes. He then looked away from her and clenched his fist. "Taichi..."
"Wait, don't tell me. 'You have no friends, you must destroy us.' We've been through this before," Taichi said. He held his fist up to Yamato's nose. "You want to go at it?"
Yamato simply sneered. "I neither have the time nor desire to meddle with you..."
Just then, Kamira, Ryouumon, Lunamon, and Agumon ran up to them. "Nani? What's going on here?" Kamira asked.
Lunamon knelt down beside Heza. "What happened? Are you okay?" she asked.
Heza looked down at the ground.
Taichi turned to Kamira. "Call the others," he said.
Kamira looked at the courage in his eyes, then nodded and began running back to the camp, Ryouumon in tow.
"Agumon, digivolve."
"Right! Agumon! Digivolve to... Greymon! Gerymon, Card-Digivolve to... PharaohGreymon!"
The two Ultimate Digimon faced each other.
"Look, Yamato. I don't know what the hell your problem is, but whatever it is, you're gonna snap out of it!" Taichi said. e then charged at Yamato, just as PharaohGreymon and ArcticGarurumon attacked each other.
"Lunamon, I think that now would be a good time!" Heza said, taking out her digivice.
"All right! Lunamon! Digivolve to... Galaxiamon!!"
Galaxiamon looked down at herself. "Cool, haven't been this way in a while." She then turned to the two other Digimon, and ran in between them, keeping them apart with her outstretched arms. "Knock it off, you two! You guys are FRIENDS!"
ArcticGarurumon swiped at Galaxiamon with his claws, forcing her out from between them. "Back off!!" he growled. He then proceeded to bite at PharaohGreymon's arm.
Galaxiamon rubbed her posterior. "Geez, what got HIS goat?"
Then, Kamira returned with the others in tow.
"Oh no, not again," Koushirou groaned, smacking his forehead.
Taichi grimaced as Yamato delivered a swift punch to his face. He held his hand to his cheek, spitting out blood. He then tackled Yamato to the ground, and returned the punch.
Kamira helped Heza to stand. "We've got to do something, or they'll kill each other!" she said frantically.
"We can't let that happen! Let's Digivolve!" Kagemon shouted.
"Biyomon! Digivolve to... Birdramon! Birdramon, card-digivolve to... Skydramon!"
"Tentomon! Digivolve to... Kabuterimon! Kabuterimon, card-digivolve to... KingKabuterimon!"
"Palmon! Digivolve to... Togemon! Togemon, card-digivolve to... Demetemon!"
"Gomamon! Digivolve to... Ikkakumon! Ikkakumon, card-digivolve to... Aquamon!"
"Patamon! Digivolve to... Angemon!"
"Pseudomon! Digivolve to... Shiramon!"
"Kagemon! Digivolve to... Chimaeramon!"
As the other ten Digimon began attacking ArcticGarurumon, Kamira suddenly grabbed her head and fell to her knees. "Aagh!"
Koushirou and Ryouumon were instantly at her side. Koushirou put an arm around her, as if he was supporting her. "Kami-chan? What's wrong?!"
Kamira's eyes began welling up as the pain grew. A vision suddenly appeared in her head, one of destruction and chaos. "I... you need my help... Ryouumon... you need to Digivolve!!"
Ryouumon felt himself changing as the power from Kamira's heart began flooding into him. "Ryouumon! Digivolve to..."
He grew larger, almost to the size of a panther. Golden armour covered his head and legs, which were encrusted with red jewels, and blue-and-green trim. His tail sprouted out to almost half the length of his body. Long claws shot out from his paws.
"... Keromon! (PC's Note: Pronounced Kair-oh-mon. ^.^)"
Koushirou fumbled around for his laptop, still holding Kamira. He finally got a hold of it and popped it open. "Nngh. Keromon is a powerful Champion Digimon that uses dark energy in his attacks, which are Hyper Cannon and Thrashing Fury! Not too shabby."
Keromon charged at ArcticGarurumon, his mouth open wide. A ball of dark violet energy formed in it. "Hyper Cannon!!" The ball grew out to a blinding ray of violet energy, circled by black rings.
ArcticGarurumon was blown back a bit by the attack.
Yamato stood up, holding a hand to his bloody nose. "ArcticGarurumon, hold. We've done enough fighting for one day." ArcticGarurumon stopped charging his attack. Yamato sneered, wiping his nose again. "And now, I leave you with this fighter. Come out, DeviAngemon!" As soon as the words left his mouth, he and ArcticGarurumon vanished into thin air.
Heza stumbled forward a bit, her eyes watering. "Yamato..."
Just then, the ground began shaking, and up from the ground came a Digimon that looked like a cross between Devimon and Angemon. (Think: Gray-haired Angemon with Devimon's torso and wings, Angemon's pants, only red, and Sailor Saturn's Silence Glaive. O.o)
"What... is THAT?" Taichi asked, clutching his arm to his side.
Koushirou peeked at his laptop again. Kamira had began to recover from the headache. "Oi... DeviAngemon is an extremely powerful Ultimate Digimon, basically a fallen angel."
"Angemon, this looks like it's right up your alley!" Takeru shouted to the Champion digimon hovering in the air.
Angemon nodded. "Hand of Fate!" he shouted, sending his holy energy forward. DeviAngemon, however, blocked it with his staff. He charged forward at Angemon, the sharp end of his staff pointed forward.
"Nani?! He's strong!" Taichi yelled.
"It might take the power of two angels!" Hikari shouted. "Ready, Tailmon?"
The catlike Digimon nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be! Tailmon, Digivolve to... er, Tailmon?" She looked down at herself. "Gee, this is about a good as a dirty litterbox. Why can't I digivolve?"
"This is bad..." Sakura said.
DeviAngemon, being a fairly large Digimon, cast a dark shadow over the area. e reached down with his long arms and grabbed Takeru and Hikari, one in each hand. "Ah... these two are holy beings..." He then flapped his great wings and took off into the air.
"Imoutochan!!" Taichi shouted, running after them.
Sakura and Syaoran each climbed onto their digimon and ran behind Taichi.
"Let's go, Shiramon!" Sakura shouted. Shiramon nodded and leaped into the air, high enough to where she could clamp onto DeviAngemon's shoulders. She wrapped her paed arms around his neck and dug her claws into his chest.
DeviAngemon growled and stopped flying. He clenched his fist around Shiramon's paw and threw her down, Sakura going down with her. Shiramon dedigivolved to Pseudomon as the two of them plummeted to the ground.
"SAKURA!!" Syaoran shouted. Chimaeramon ran on the ground, right under where they were falling. Syaoran leaped off of his back and grabbed Sakura around the waist, turning so that she wouldn't hit the ground. He hit his back hard on the dirt. "Itai..."
Sakura quickly climbed off of him, the dizzy Pseudomon flopping down on the ground. "Kami-sama! Syaoran-kun, are you alright?" Sakura asked, concerned.
Syaoran groaned a bit and sat up, rubbing his neck. "Ugh... everything hurts but my earlobes, but other than that I'm just a bit winded," he said, grinning at her.
Sakura sighed in relief. She then hugged him around the neck. "Thank you for saving me... arigatou gozaimasu.." (Ah, finally... some S+S-shippyness! :D) A bright blush promptly made its way across Syaoran's nose.
Meanwhile, the Digimon who were capable of flight were still attacking -- or at least ATTEMPTING to -- DeviAngemon. The ones that were grounded attacked to the best of their ability.
"Solar Flare!"
"Sky Scorcher!"
"Thunderstorm!"
"Wildflower Wave!"
"Thunder Triton!"
"Hand of Fate!"
"Lightning Paw!"
"Rainbow Lightning!"
"Hyper Cannon!"
"Cherry Blossom Blitz!"
"Ancient Storm!"
DeviAngemon sneered and held the two youngest DigiDestined in the path of the attacks.
"Wait, no!" Taichi yelled.
Tailmon hopped onto Angemon's back as the angel Digimon flew in front of Takeru and Hikari.
"Angemon!!"
"Tailmon!!"
DeviAngemon scowled as the two holy Digimon dropped to the ground, badly injured.
Hikari clasped her hands together and began praying. "O Kami-sama... please give our digimon the strength to fight, and destroy DeviAngemon... I beg you..." Little did she know, in another world someone else was also praying for their safety.
********************************************************** ***********
Back at Camp Kayomata...
"This is really a predicament," the boy in the glasses said, after Poora explained everything to him and the oriental boy. "I do hope that Tachikawa-san is unharmed."
"Nesu-kun, Jefu-kun, Puu-kun... we have to pray for their safety. We can't let anything happen to them..." Poora said, arranging herself in the lotus position. She motioned for the others to do so, and the four of them joined hands. "O Kami-sama... please give our friends the strength to fight, and destroy their enemy... I beg you..." Nesu, Poora, Jefu, and Puu all began glowing with auras of blue, red, green, and yellow (respectively).
************************************************** *******************
Angemon and Tailmon struggled to get up from the ground. Tailmon looked up to see that as Hikari finished her prayer, the NeoCrest of Light gave off a brilliant pink light. A wormhole in the sky opened up, and four beams of light (blue, red, green, and yellow no da) shot through it and covered the area in an immense glow of many colours. Soon, Takeru's NeoCrest began glowing with the same bright light as Hikari's, only yellow.
Out of the wormhole came two angels, one yellow and one pink.
"It's the Spirit and Angel Digi-Cards!" Sora and Mimi shouted simultaneously.
"It looks like this is going to take everything we've got!" Taichi yelled. "Digimon, attack!!"
Pseudomon Digivolved to Shiramon as the other Digimon began attacking.
"Solar Flare!"
"Sky Scorcher!"
"Spark Flash!"
"Petal Punch!"
"Ocean Current!"
"Nebula Beam!"
"Thrashing Fury!"
"Novakinesis!"
"Shirka's Eye!"
The two angel-like masses swerved a bit, four attacks hitting each, and the final one hitting both. They formed themselves into the two cards, and hovered in front of Takeru and Hikari. They nodded at each other and shouted simultaneously:
"Digital Card Digivolve!!"
"Angemon! Card-Digivolve to..."
Angemon began transforming almost as if he was turning into HolyAngemon, but his body grew out a bit, like a dragon. The same armour appeared on his body, only gold. in his hands appeared a great silver bow-and-arrow. His wings doubled themselves, creating four giant feathered ones.
"... GoldAngemon!"
"Tailmon! Card-Digivolve to..."
Tailmon grew taller, and her bottom grew a bit rounder as well as her legs. A strange silver armour covered her bottom half and head, while wide purple ribbons covered her now-humanoid torso. The gloves on her hands grew to her elbows, and her tail grew longer too. The ring around the tip of it turned into multicoloured orbs, and a long double-ended spear formed in her hands. White wings unfolded from her back, while golden hair sprouted from under the armoured mask, and her ears remained as they were.
"... Nekomon!"
The two Card-Ultimates hovered in the air, auras surrounding them.
"Wow. Just... WOW. GoldAngemon is a Holy Dragon-type Digimon, who uses just about every kind of energy possible in his Holy Sniper and Golden Radiance attacks. Nekomon, on the other hand, is a brutal Holy Warrior who uses her spear in her Daggers of Light and Blade Cutter attacks. Innnnnnnnnnn-teresting," Koushirou observed, viewing them on his laptop.
"Not bad, not bad at all," Taichi said. "Let's get him!"
DeviAngemon scowled. "Black Death."
"Sunburst!"
"Phoenix Feather Blizzard!"
"Thunderstorm!"
"Wildflower Wave!"
"Ocean Current!"
"Holy Sniper!"
"Daggers of Light!"
"Rainbow Lightning!"
"Hyper Cannon!"
"Psy Storm!"
"Shirka's Eye!"
Then, out of nowhere, a new voice rang:
"Call of the Wild!"
Before the other attacks could hit, a surge of jet-black energy rushed through the area, ripping DeviAngemon to shreds without a final word.
The other Digimon all dedigivolved to their In-Training forms, while GoldAngemon and Nekomon reverted to Tokomon and Salamon.
"... What just happened?" Jyou asked, running his fingers through his hair.
Before long, what appeared to be a vulture-like Digimon flew into the area. There was a boy riding on his back.
"Who IS that...?" Mimi asked.
The boy jumped off of the Digimon's back. "Greetings."
"WHAT?!" Taichi shouted.
"It... can't be..." Kamira stuttered.
"Ah, but it is," the boy said. There was a shining black pendant around his neck with the symbol of Anarchy on it. "I am Yan Kyoto, and this here is Vulturemon. My my, isn't it pleasant to see you again, bishoujo-subeta..."
Heza felt like her legs were about to give out. She swayed from side to side a bit, then finally collapsed to the ground in a faint.
Taichi and Galaxiamon were instantly at her side. Taichi glared at Kyoto, who had his arms crossed. *Now just what is HE doing here...?*
Kyoto sneered. "You may be wondering what I am doing here, minna. Well, prepare to meet the newest addition to the DigiDestined team, the holder of Anarchy. It's just SO sugoi to see you all again."
