Chapter 3

"The Hero of Earth Returns"

Tomoyo looked up and gasped. "Yugi?" She called Sakura.

"Why is everyone here? What's up?" asked Sakura.

She pointed up. "See for yourself."

Sakura looked up. Her eyes widened. "Yu-Yu-Yugi!"

Yugi looked down and smiled. "Sakura."

Sakura's eyes were filled with tears.

Syaoran tapped her back. "Sakura?"

"Yes?" asked Sakura.

"Does this mean that you're going back with Yugi?"

Sakura looked down and nodded.
Syaoran frowned. "Oh, I see how it is. He's more important." he started running.

"Syaoran, wait!" exclaimed Sakura running after him.

ON A NEARBY TREE...

"NO! Sakura go back to Yugi, he's the bait. Oh well, I guess I'll have to reveal myself. Hmm, it's kind of early though. Who cares?" said Zephyr. He flew out of the tree. When Sakura saw him, she gasped. "Zephyr?"

"Hi, Card Mistress."

"Huh?"

"I know everything, Sakura. Here, I believe my father took these from you." He threw the Clow Cards to her."
Sakura's eyes widened. "Father? You're Diamond's son!"

"That's right. I kidnapped Yugi and kept him on Planet Tai."

"What? Why?"

"You're boring me with these questions." he pointed his hands at everyone at the college. In seconds, everyone disappeared except Joey, Sakura, Syaoran, Tea, Tomoyo, and Yugi.

"Perfect."

Everyone backed away.

"What do you want?" asked Tea.

"I want you all to attend this tournament I have on Planet Tai. It's pretty much fighting with magic. That's why I gave Sakura," he was interrupted.

"Hey Syaoran, what's going on?" asked Meiling.

"Where were you?" asked Joey.

"I was at the bathroom."

"Like I was saying," he said putting Yugi on the ground. "You should attend this tournament."

"Why should we?" asked Syaoran. "Why don't you battle us right now?"

"Because I want some fun before I kill you."

"I can't believe I kissed you." said Sakura.

"Neither can I. I was falling in love with you for a second, but now, the crush is off."

"Why are you doing this?" asked Joey. "Don't be a creep like your father."

"He's the reason I'm doing this. I'm going to bring him back, and he'll have his revenge."

"He's gone for good." said Tea.

Zephyr looked at Yugi and grinned. "He's closer than you think."

"What are you talking about?" asked Sakura.

"The Rainbow Spirit is still alive. He's just hiding, waiting..."

"For?"

"I'm afraid you'll have to find out later. Now, for some fun." He created four little balls in the palm of hands.

Everyone backed away.

"Don't be scared." said Zephyr. He threw a ball at Joey.

"AAAGGHHH!! YUGI, HELP ME!" he disappeared.

"JOEY, NO!!" exclaimed Yugi.

Zephyr smiled and threw the second ball at Tea.

"YUGI! GOODBYE." she disappeared as well.

"TEA!" yelled Sakura and Yugi.

Zephyr laughed and threw the last two at Meiling and Tomoyo.

"MEILING! TOMOYO!!!" yelled Sakura.
Syaoran looked in horror.

Sakura looked at Zephyr. "YOU'LL PAY! FLY AND SWORD CARD!"

She grew wings and charged at Zephyr.

Zephyr smiled and pushed her back on the ground.

"Now that I have your friends, you three have to fight for them. The winner will get his or her lost friend. And if the winner beats me in a battle, he or she wins everyone else, but don't count on it. Strong fighters from all over the world are entering. So watch out. Oh, and ask Yugi for directions. Good bye!" he left.

Yugi was shocked. Shocked to see his best friends disappear. Sakura was shocked to lose her best friend as well.

"Well, I guess we have to attend this tournament." said Syaoran.

Sakura walked towards Yugi. "Hi Yugi."

Yugi looked away. "I can't believe you threw the ring away."

"I didn't throw it away, I put it in your grave, because that's where it belonged."

"Why did you move on? Why did you forget about me?"

Sakura slapped Yugi. "You were gone for three years! Do you expect me to miss and not meet new people?"

Yugi frowned. "That's all you had to say, but you had to slap me thinking I was the bad guy. Fine, you left the ring, you're no longer my fiancée."

Sakura frowned. "Fine! I was with Syaoran anyway." she turned towards Syaoran. "I wasn't going to dump you. That's why I ran after you, to tell you."

Syaoran smiled. "I believe you."

Sakura hugged Syaoran. "I love you."
Yugi smiled. "But you can be my friend."
Sakura looked at him. "Friend?"

"I'm sorry I expected you to stay loyal to me. And I'm sorry for not being there for you. I haven't seen in three years, and I want us to get to know each other, you know, as friends."

"So, we start over?"

"Of course."
Sakura hugged Yugi. "I missed you."

"Yeah, me too."

"Ok, so where is this planet Tai?" asked Syaoran.

"I'll teleport you there to get a first look."

"I don't want a look," said Syaoran staring at the sky. "I want my cousin back..."
