Chapter 6

"The Tournament Begins!"

"Stand back!" exclaimed Eriol as kneeled to Yugi.

He sat down next to him and chanted something. A couple of minutes later, the colors stopped glowing in his eyes.
Eriol: He'll be all right.

Sakura: Are you sure?

Syaoran looked at Sakura.

Eriol: Positive. Now, he'll have to rest in the flat. Don't worry though, we still have two days.

Arah and Eriol took him inside together.

Cassandra followed them.

Syaoran: So.

Sakura: So.

Syaoran frowned.
Syaoran: You still have a thing for him, don't you?

Sakura: What are you talking about?

Syaoran: Don't play dumb with me.

Sakura: You're jealous aren't you?

Syaoran: Don't change the subject!

Sakura: I don't have a thing for him. I'm just worried.

Syaoran: Are you sure?

Sakura: Positive.

Syaoran smiled.

Black clouds started to form in the sky.

Sakura: We better get inside.

They both ran through the rain.

When they got inside, Sakura panted.
Sakura: I better go take a shower.
Syaoran: Why don't I join you?

Sakura: Tempting, but no.

Syaoran: Are you sure?

Sakura: Of course. Maybe when we get back home.
Syaoran: Why do women tease us men?

Sakura giggled and went upstairs. She saw Yugi get up.
Sakura: Are you okay?

Yugi: I'm fine. Thanks.

Sakura: Well, I was going to take a shower.

Yugi: Me too. I guess you can go first.

Sakura: Wait, there are two tubs. We can go on each one but we'll have to take turns getting out.

Yugi: All right.
Sakura: I'll go on the left first, close your eyes.

Yugi: Whatever.
He closed his eyes as Sakura got undressed. She got in the tub and closed the curtains and turned on the shower.

Sakura: All right! Go ahead.
Yugi got undressed and went to the shower.

Yugi: Ah! Just what I needed.
Sakura: I know.

As they were showering, Zephyr appeared outside the tubs. He smiled and raised his hands. Seconds later, he left. All of the sudden, the wall separating Sakura and Yugi disappeared. They both screamed at the same time and put on their towels.

Sakura: YOU PERVERT!
Yugi: IT WASN'T ME!
Sakura: Than who was it?

Yugi: I don't know.

Syaoran opened the door and gasped.
Syaoran: Sakura! What are you doing?

Yugi: Syaoran!

Sakura: It's not what it looks like!
Syaoran: OH, DON'T MIND ME! FINISH, PLEASE!

He slammed the door shut.

Sakura: Oh boy.
Yugi: I don't know why you're embarrassed. They were very nice.

Sakura: Nice? They were nice? I mean, that's it?

Yugi: Okay. Rock. Hard Place. Me.

Sakura: You're so weird.

The Next Day…

Sakura: Syaoran, come on!

Syaoran: I can't believe it. He saw you naked before I did!
Sakura: It was an accident.

Syaoran: Really?

Sakura: Of course.
Syaoran: All right.
Sakura: Tomorrow's the big day for you.
Syaoran: I wish you could be a part of it.

Eriol: A part of what?

Sakura: I can't be in the tournament because I don't have my wand. I do have my cards, though.

Eriol smiled and pulled out a wand similar to it. It was just like it, except it had three little stars instead of one.

Sakura: Cool! Oh man! The sign-ups close in ten minutes.
Eriol: You have time.

Sakura: I do?
Eriol: Yeah. You'll have to hurry, though.

Sakura: All right.

She ran out of the flat and ran down the street.
Sakura: What am I doing?

She took out her wand.
Sakura: Fly Card!

Nothing happened.

Sakura: Huh?

Announcer: Sign-ups for the tournament close in five minutes!

Sakura: I better hurry.
She continued to run.
Zephyr appeared in front of her.
Sakura: Zephyr!

Zephyr: Hello again.
Sakura: What do you want?

Zephyr: You're an idiot!
Sakura: What did you call me?

Zephyr: You were going to sign up even if your wand wasn't working? That's pathetic.

Sakura's eyes widened.
Sakura: All right. You've made your point, but I'm still going to try.

Zephyr: Good! I already signed you up.

Sakura: What?

Zephyr handed her a slip.

Sakura: Thanks.
Zephyr: No problem.

Sakura: Where are my friends?

Zephyr: They're somewhere.

Sakura: Where?

Zephyr: You'll have to find that out for yourself.

He grabbed Sakura and kissed her. Sakura wanted to break free, but she wanted him to stay. He stopped the kiss.
Zephyr: No matter whom I kiss, they'll want me to keep going.

Sakura: Huh?

Zephyr: My lips have the ability to make anyone in love with me. That's what I did in the beginning.

Sakura couldn't help but blush.
Zephyr: You have it easy. My father is more wicked than I am.

Sakura: What do you want?

Zephyr: I want my father back.
Sakura: That won't happen so buzz off and give me back my friends.
Zephyr: Sakura, Sakura, Sakura. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Sakura: What?

Zephyr: I better get ready for tomorrow. Let's hope one of us gets through the elimination round. Oh, and one more thing, I was the one who broke the wall. See ya!

Sakura: Wall? Oh, he'll pay.

She walked back to the flat and fell asleep on her bed.

The Next Day…

Syaoran: Sakura, wake up.

Sakura: Huh?

Syaoran: Today's the big day.
Sakura: WHAT? I can't go! My wand isn't working.

Eriol: It's all right. It'll work today, trust me.

Sakura: All right. Let's get ready.

After they all changed, they met outside.

Arah: Let's do this.

They all went to the area of the tournament and gasped. The whole place was HUGE!

Every contestant waited on the streets.

Finally, Zephyr appeared.
Zephyr: Welcome to the 75th Planet Tai Tournament!
Everyone cheered.

Zephyr looked through everyone and saw Sakura. He smiled.
Zephyr: You're all thinking that this is where the whole tournament will be. Well, it's not. This is the elimination round area. You see, you and I will be battling all over the place. You choose whom you want to battle and you attack. If you fall into the ground or water, then you don't qualify in the Top 16. You may battle in the air, on the ferries wheels, anywhere as long as it is not on the ground. When 16 contestants remain, a buzzer will buzz and you will be battling tomorrow. Any questions?

A man raised his hand.
Man: How can we fight?

Zephyr: You can use anything. You can use your strength, your magic abilities, etc.

Sakura frowned.
Sakura: He's going to allow over one thousand people to fight each other?

Cassandra: Brutal, isn't it? You all better watch out.

Yugi: Why don't we all spread to different locations?

Syaoran: Good idea.
Zephyr: Let the tournament begin!

He shoots his gun toward the sky and everyone raced to the air.
Yugi: Whatever happens, we'll face them together.
