The Rainbow Cards
Chapter 32
"Tea's Bracelet"
Sakura dialed numbers on her phone. "Hello? Meiling?"
"Oh hi Sakura! Only three more days left until I visit you!"
"What? Didn't Syaoran tell you?"
"Tell me what."
"He yelled at me! He broke up with me! He told me you weren't coming! He went back over there!"
"Calm down!" exclaimed Meiling. "First of all, he didn't tell me. Second of all, he's not here!"
Sakura became worried. "Are you sure? He's not in his apartment."
"Maybe he went on a vacation or something."
"Yeah. Let's hope so. Well, I'll see you in three days."
"Ok! Bye!"
She hung up.
At School…
"Sakura! Can I talk to you for a minute?" asked the teacher.
"Sure! What's up?"
"You and your friends have been absent for several days now. What's going on?"
"Umm. Well,"
"I'm waiting!"
"Ok. We've been sick."
"What?"
"We had a sleepover the other day, and Joey started feeling sick," lied Sakura. "The next day, all of us became sick."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"Of course. We had to stay home. You can even ask my dad."
"I think I will."
"Ok then. Bye!"
Sakura left the classroom.
"That was close." She said to herself.
"I can't believe you got away with it." Said a voice.
Myko appeared.
"Hi Myko! Haven't seen you in a while."
"Ditto. So, what were you really doing?"
"We were sick!"
"Sakura, come on. You can tell me."
"Umm,"
"Was it worth dumping me for spiked boy?"
"What?" Sakura asked. She remembered that she left Myko at the Sadie Hawkins Dance. "About that, I'm really sorry."
"It's all right. I have to get used to it."
"No! Really, I'm a bad person! I just left you there without saying anything!"
"It's ok. Really. We can friends instead."
"Ok."
"So, what was the real reason you were absent?"
"I can't tell you! Oh!" Sakura checks her watch. "Look at the time! I have to go home! Bye!"
She ran outside.
Myko laughed. "I'll get the truth out yet, Card Mistress! And when I do, you and the cards will be mine!" Myko laughed.
Two Days Later…
Sakura and friends went to class.
"Hello everyone, today we have three transfer students joining us. Two are from Tokyo, and one is from China. Their names are Tristan, Bakura, and Meiling."
Everyone said hello.
At Lunch…
"MEILING!" yelled Sakura hugging her.
"SAKURA! LET ME GO! I CAN'T BREATHE!"
Sakura let go. "Sorry! I just got excited!"
"It's ok. You haven't seen me in six years."
"Hi Meiling." Said Tomoyo.
"Hey Tomoyo! Are you still,"
Tomoyo took out her camera and started filming Sakura.
"Never mind." Finished Meiling. "I can see you didn't change at all, Tomoyo?"
"That's right!"
Eriol sat down across from Sakura. "Hey."
"What's wrong?" asked Sakura.
"Well, now that we're going to capture the final cards, our quest will be over."
"So? That's a good thing, isn't it?" asked Joey.
"Yes. But after that, I must leave this planet."
"What? Why?" asked Sakura.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you."
"Oh, ok."
"Anyways, we must find the Orange and Indigo Cards in my castle."
"You have a castle?" asked Sakura.
"Yes. It's invisible though. I'm the only person who can make visible."
"Talk about security!" exclaimed Joey. He noticed something on Tea's wrist. It was a silver bracelet. "Hey! Is that new?"
"Yeah. Seto gave it to me." Tea answered.
Joey got upset. "What about the one I gave you? You always had it on your wrist!"
"Um, it's new! You don't mind, do you? I mean, it is a gift!"
"Mine was a gift too!"
"Calm down. I have it in my drawer at home!"
"Then let me see it when we get home!"
Tea looked nervous.
Joey gasped. "You exchanged it, didn't you?"
"No! Of course… I did."
Tears formed in Joey's eyes. He left the room.
"Tea! How could you? He saved so much to buy you that!" exclaimed Yugi. He ran after Joey.
Guilt hit Tea in the heart.
That Night…
Everyone ate dinner at Yugi's (And Joey and Tea's) house.
"So Tomoyo, how did the Photography Class go?" asked Sakura.
"It went great! Believe it or not, but I got a 102% in it."
"Really? That's great!" said Meiling.
Now was Tea's chance to talk to Joey. "Hey Joey, can you pass the potato dumplings?"
"Sure." Answered Joey politely. He gave the basket to her. "Kaiba has the rice. Why don't you exchange the dumplings for the rice?"
Everyone stopped talking to listen.
"I'm sick of this! I said I was sorry!" exclaimed Tea.
"Sorry won't cut for what you did!" exclaimed Joey.
Tea was going to say something, but Sakura interrupted.
"This has gone too far! Come on guys, stop fighting! You're acting like children!"
"No we're not!" yelled Joey and Tea at the same time.
"You're acting immature." Said Sakura.
"I'm not immature!" exclaimed Joey. He sat down. He stepped on something. He picked it up. "Eww! Underpants!" he exclaimed throwing them at the couch.
"Well, I don't act like a child." Said Tea sitting down.
Yugi entered the room and started serving cake.
"I CALL THE STRAWBERRIES!" yelled Tea.
"Sorry Tea. There aren't any strawberries." Said Yugi.
"WHAT? I WANT STRAWBERRIES!" she yelled louder.
"See what I mean?" asked Sakura.
"Yeah." Laughed Yugi.
"HELLO! STRAWBERRIES!" yelled Tea.
Author's Note: I know, I know, this chapter pretty much sucked. But I wanted to make a chapter about Tea and Joey. Stay tuned!
