Syaoran took Sakura's beauty in. When he was on the plane and had thought about what she might look like, many of those things were correct. She still had bright, shining green eyes, and her hair fell just above her shoulders. She had grown taller, and her legs were long and elegant. She had perfect curves: from her breasts to her waist to her hips. Her cheeks were slightly pink, and her lips were an enticing rose color.
She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. And at that moment, Syaoran felt as if his soul had been repaired.
“How are you?” It was the only thing Syaoran could think to say.
“I'm—I'm fine…” Sakura answered. She was still in shock.
“I was in Japan, because of family business, and I thought I might…” Syaoran was barely paying attention to what he was saying. He was too busy taking in Sakura. “I'm glad I got to see you.” He gave Sakura a smile. Sakura was silent. Syaoran started to blush slightly.
“It was a stupid idea, to come see you while school was still in session. I don't want to keep you…” Syaoran turned around and began walking away.
“Wait.” He turned to face Sakura calmly although he felt like jumping for joy that she had stopped him. “I want to ask you…” She was staring at the ground.
“Yeah?”
“Why…why you left me.”
“I didn't leave you, I was taken home. I didn't want to go.” He said defensively.
“No, not then. You always called me, every day. I was sad when you went back, but those phone calls kept me happy. I would have been contempt with that. Why did you stop calling me?” Sakura raised her eyes off the ground, and Syaoran saw that she was crying.
“I thought that if I stopped calling, you would move on, Sakura. Tomoyo sent me a letter saying you were acting unusual, that you were never as cheerful as before. I thought that… if I cut myself off, you would live your life without me to distract you. Maybe if you didn't have me… you wouldn't have anything to be sad about.” Syaoran explained.
“I was devastated when you left, Syaoran.” Sakura said quietly. Tears were streaming down her face. Syaoran immediately felt a need to comfort her, to hold her in his arms. She was beautiful even when she cried. And at that moment, Syaoran loved her more than he ever did.
Sakura didn't want to, but she was weeping. It was partly because Syaoran was back--- she had hoped for so long, that it seemed like a dream, and now a dream come true. It was also because everything that had built up over the years came gushing out when she finally had the chance to ask him why.
At first, she was shocked to see him. Then, she was shocked to see how much he has changed. He was much taller, and had become very strong built. She imagined he trained often, because he was always so disciplined. His hair color and length was the same, and so was his adorable blush. She was ecstatic to see his chestnut eyes and reserved manner again. She couldn't count how many times he had saved her from a tight spot, and she couldn't count how many times he had made her smile…
And now, when she heard the answer to her question, she couldn't help but think it was typical of him. He always looked out for her, and was never afraid to make a necessary sacrifice. But she knew that even if it hurt, she would much rather have him there. She couldn't let him leave her again.
Sakura began to cry even harder when Syaoran took her in his arms. She had missed his touch for so long, and once she was near him again, it made her happier than she had been for a long time.
“I can't tell you how sorry I am for hurting you. It was never my intention.”
“No, you did what you thought was best. I'm sorry for worrying you… but I can't stop crying…” Sakura did not care about anything in the past. She just wanted this moment to last forever.
So, Li Syaoran has returned. Hirohito sat in class, sensing his aura. He was most likely with Sakura, she had excused herself from class earlier before. Hirohito sat quietly in his chair, thinking about Sakura. She noticed my aura before… I can't let her sense it again. Hirohito looked at Tomoyo, who seemed very uneasy.
“Don't worry. Sakura is fine. I bet she is happier than ever now.” Hirohito gave Tomoyo a reassuring smile.
“Thank you Hirohito. It's just that, she's been gone for awhile…”
“Then we'll go look for her.” Hirohito raised his hand, and the teacher gave him permission to speak. “Miss Kinomoto has been gone for awhile now, and so Miss Daidouji and I would like to know if you would allow us to look for her.” The teacher looked uneasy.
“Be back quickly.”
Tomoyo and Hirohito walked slowly down the halls, listening and looking.
“Thank you, Hirohito. For everything you are doing for Sakura. I'm glad to see someone just as worried about her as I am.”
“Sakura is a wonderful person,” Hirohito explained. “I treat her with the kindness she deserves.” They reached a fork, and Hirohito continued. “We should split up here. I'll go this way.” Hirohito turned to the right, knowing it was the wrong way. Tomoyo nodded and went left.
Soon, Tomoyo was walking through the courtyard. She walked slowly, and listened intently for footsteps. There was no noise. She got closer to the corner, turned to the left, a spot that was hidden from windows and doors. As she approached the wall, she began to hear voices. She ducked behind a wall and inched towards the sound, so that she could hear it fairly well.
“It's been so long…” Sakura said between tears.
She heard Sakura, and was about to reveal herself. But then, a familiar voice replied.
“I know. And all that time, I just missed you.” Tomoyo muffled her gasp in her hands. If only I had my video camera! The reunion of Sakura and Syaoran. How beautiful! Tomoyo decided to reveal herself. She backed a few feet away from the wall, and softly called Sakura's name.
“Sakura?” Sakura gasped, surprised to hear someone nearby. She was happy to hear it was Tomoyo. She knew Tomoyo would be the only person who wouldn't spread Syaoran's return like wildfire.
“Hai, Tomoyo.”
“Konichiwa, Sakura-chan. Syaoran-kun.” Tomoyo said as she turned the corner. She acted calmly, although she was ecstatic to see Syaoran returned, and with Sakura. Syaoran and Sakura still had their arms around one another, not even realizing it. Tomoyo giggled. “I suppose you two have made amends?” Tomoyo said happily. Sakura nodded.
“Then…” Tomoyo said while fishing through her bag. “Please let me take some photos of your reunion!”
“Tomoyo-chan…” Sakura said, knowing that Tomoyo would never let a photo-op go unrecorded. Syaoran just smiled and remembered how much he missed his old life with Tomoyo, Sakura, and Meilin.
“Just one then!” Tomoyo announced with stars twinkling in her eyes. Sakura looked at Syaoran, who just shrugged.
But just as fast as Tomoyo took the photo, four bolts of lightning struck the perimeter of where the three friends were standing. Sakura and Syaoran felt that it was not natural lightning. Tomoyo noticed as well, since there were no storm clouds in the sky.
“Tomoyo-chan!” Sakura yelled, fearing for her friend's life. Tomoyo tried to run towards Sakura, but lightning bolts struck every time she moved. Sakura immediately pulled out her key.
“Key Which Holds the Power of the Stars. Reveal Your True Form Before Me. I, Sakura, Command You Under Our Contract. Release!” A circle showing a moon, sun, and star under Sakura's feet appeared in golden light.
The sequence was so familiar to Syaoran, and yet he noticed that the circle was brighter and exerting more than twice the power it used to. Also, he saw that the key was different: it was the same as it had been when he and Sakura defeated Eriol's spell together. Sakura had gotten practically three times stronger than she was when Syaoran left.
Syaoran had gotten stronger too, but he hardly ever carried his sword around anymore, since he hadn't been up against an enemy in years. He stood next to Sakura, feeling a bit useless. She wasted no time saving Tomoyo.
“Shield!” Once they were protected, Sakura expanded the shield to protect Tomoyo. The lightning bounced off.
“I can't keep this up for long, it's pounding on the shield!” Syaoran noticed Sakura flinching as the lightning came down faster and harder than before. He immediately grabbed the cards from her bag and looked to see their options. He picked Windy and threw it into the air. Sakura activated the card, catching on to his idea.
“Windy! Find the culprit and bring him to me!” Windy whisked off in all directions while the lightning stopped. Soon, she returned to Sakura in the form of a globe. Tomoyo was the first to speak.
“There is… no one there.” And yet, Windy seemed positive she had caught him. Whenever she trapped an opponent, it was usually in the same way.
“No.” Syaoran said with eyes closed. “He's there.”
“Is he invisible…?” Sakura brought out another card, hoping to reveal some kind of form. “Watery!” Water poured over Windy's globe. It went straight through. “How…?”
“He's a magician. I'm not positive, but he's most likely a metamorphose.”
“A metamorphose?” Sakura asked blankly.
“Yes. They are powerful magicians who are always human, but use a kind of magic to transform themselves accordingly to whatever element thrown at them.” Syaoran pointed to the puddle underneath Windy. “He's either that puddle, or he's inside that globe as air. The only way to bring him back to his original form is to find something that can trap him without allowing him to transform again.” Sakura nodded.
“Freeze!” The water underneath was frozen. Nothing happened.
“Then…” Tomoyo looked at the globe. “How do you trap wind?”
