Golden_Eyed_Dragon: Hello minna-san. And here is my FIRST Special Holiday fic. There is going to be lots more within the year, so hold on...

Jigokuinu: And the holiday we are celebrating is...

Yorutori: CHINESE NEW YEAR!! *jumps up and down happily*

Golden_Eyed_Dragon: I was expecting to do a Chinese New Year fic. But since Yoruotori is half Chinese and he wanted me too, I decided I would. And it is 2002 which makes this the year of the Horse.

Jigokuinu: Why did we have to do this holiday fic??..

Golden_Eyed_Dragon: *whacks Jigokuinu* Jigokuinu-sama, stop being so rude and mean! Yorutori is half Chinese and other people may be too or maybe even whole Chinese! And, Syaoran and Meiling are Chinese, mind you.

Jigokuinu: *rubs his furry head where it got whacked* Yeah, so, you are half Japanese. You don't know ANYTHING about the Chinese New Year. And don't call me Jigokuinu-SAMA! Just Jigokuinu!

Golden_Eyed_Dragon: *crosses arms* Yeah I do know stuff about the Chinese New Year. It is celebrated for all the animals of the years. *sticks out tounge at Jigokuinu*

Yorutori: Actually, I helped Shinjitaka out on this fic so she would know some traditions to put down because she does know nothing about the Chinese New Year ^_^

Syaoran awoke from his sleep and to face at his clock, it read 10 o' clock. He scrambled from his bed and looked at his calender. But right before he reached to see what day it was, confetti flew into his face and he heard a little party kazooie sound. He looked over to see Meiling, wearing beautiful red Chinese clothing, a party hat, and with a confetti blaster in her hand and blowing a party kazooie. "M-Meiling.." Syaoran stuttered, he surely had surprised him. "What are you doing?"

"Celebrating!" Meiling happily cheered, "It's February 12th! That means its another great Chinese New Year, Shaoran! Gong xi fa cai!"

Syaoran quickly looked at the calender to see the date the 12th and back at Meiling, "Gon xi fa cai...But Meiling, we are in Japan. They don't celebrate the Chinese New Year here."

"I know that silly." Meiling said, "That is why we are going back home to Hong Kong today!"

Syaoran sweatdropped, "We are?.."

"Yeah." Meiling said, "And we are taking Kinomoto-san and Daidouji-san with us."

Syaoran smiled, "Sakura?"

"Yeah." Meiling said, "I knew you would want her to come with us. After all, family and friends are supposed to get together for this holiday."

Syaoran nodded, "Yeah. Does Daidouji and Sakura know they are coming with us?"

"Yeah." Meiling said, "They already informed their parents too. Kinomoto-san and Daidouji-san are very excited about the whole New Year's thing."

Syaoran gulped, "But they don't know all the traditions! What if they bring bad luck? They don't know what to do!"

"Shaoran," Meiling giggled, "When the time is right, I will tell them all they have to know."

Syaran lifted an eyebrow, "Did you tell them to pack any red clothes?"

"No." Meiling said, "I decided they could just buy red Chinese outfits in Hong Kong."

Syaoran sighed, "I guess we will see how this turns out..."

"I can't wait to get my Hongbao!" Meiling excitedly said.

Syaoran wondered, "I wonder how much money I will get this year..."

Syaoran takes a red envelope from his mother, "Thank you mother." He says politely and opens the flap to the envelope and a fountain of money bursts out of the envelope. "WOW!" Syaoran smiles brightly and grins evily at his fours sister. They open their red envelopes and flies fly out of them. Syaoran starts laughing hysterically and starts swimming in all of his momey he got from his envelope.

"I wonder how much I will get.." Meiling wondered too...

Meiling gets handed a red envelope, "Yeah! Hongbao!" she opens the envelope flap and lifts up a 50 dollar bill, "WHOA! 50 bucks!" she smiled happily.

Syaoran than pops out of nowhere and grabs the 50 dollars away from Meiling and runs off. Meiling blinks, and smoke fumes from her head madely.

"Yeah. Can't wait for that Hongbao!" Syaoran smirked.

Meiling pushed Syaoran playfully, "Ooohh.. Shu-"

"Meiling!" Syaoran stopped her, "Don't be saying any bad or unlucky words on New Year's Day."

Meiling grumbeled, "Sorry.."

"Let's get to the airport." Syaoran smiled and he and Meiling left the apartment room.

Airport...

"Kinomoto-san! Daidouji-san!" Meiling shouted out, running to her Sakura and Tomoyo. She walked up to them, "Gong xi fa cai."

Sakura and Tomoyo looked puzzled, they didn't know what tha meant what Meiling had said, "It means Happy and Prosperous New Year in the Chinese launguage. It is a greeting used for the Chinese New Year." Syaoran said as he walked up to the group, he too had a red shirt with gold sleeve collars and a gold collar. His eyes went to Sakura. They both smiled at eachother sweetly.

"Oh, well, in that case." Tomoyo smiled and bowed to Meiling and Syaoran, "Gong xi fa cai."

Sakura bowed to, "G-Gong xi fa cai."

"So," Meiling said, "Let's board the plane."

"Hai." they all said in unison and headed for their plane.

In the airplane...

"Okay," Tomoyo said, "Who are we all going to sit by?"

Sakura smiled, "I want to sit by Shaoran-kun!" at that Syaoran blushed and smiled at her.

"Than me and Daidouji-san will sit next to eachother." Meiling said and they walked over and sat in their seats.

"Come on Shaoran-kun." Sakura said, holding his hand as they walked to their seats and sat down. "Make sure to buckle up." Sakura smiled, belting herself.

Syaoran nodded and put on his seat belt. "Shaoran-kun.."

"Yes Sakura?" Syaoran said.

Sakura faced at Syaoran, "What is the Chinese New Year like?"

"Well, It's a beautiful day. With lots of decorations, parades, festivels, and various other things. And on midnight we let off fireworks, we let them off to resemble that we are letting off the old year and bringing in the new. So, all of the people have their windows and doors open so they can let out the old year from their house and family and bring in the new." Syaoran explained.

Sakura blinked, "Wow. I bet it is wonderful."

"I guess." Syaoran said.

Hong Kong...

They arrived in Hong Kong, it was decorated in all corners, many lanters, and various other things, beautiful poerty banners and festivals going on. It was really beautiful at this time. "Hooe." Sakura said, "It really looks different from when I was here."

"That's because it is almost New Year's Eve." Meiling said. "And, you and Daidouji-san are staying at Shaoran's and I'll be there too. After all, friends and family are to get together for the Chinese New Year."

Tomoyo nodded, "I see. But, only you and Li-kun are family. We are just friends."

"We never know.." Meiling said and looked back and forth and Syaoran and Sakura and giggled.

Syaoran's house..

Syaoran ran into his house dragging Tomoyo and Sakura behind him, "Hurry!" Tomoyo and Sakura scanned the house, it was beautiful, it was spotless, and there was flowers in the house, and poetry on red paper on the walls, and when they came in there was a bowl of candy, and there was some oranges in a bowl, it surely was the most decorated house they've seen. "Meiling!" Syaoran hollered, "Hurry! Before mother or my sisters get here!"

"Alright, alright," Meiling said, walking into the door slowly, "Calm down Shaoran." she got in and lifted an eyebrow, "Nani?"

Syaoran pointed up the stairs, "Get Tomoyo and Sakura dressed into some Chinese outfits. And make sure they have red and gold on them. RED and GOLD."

"Okay.." Meiling says with a sigh, "Come on Kinomoto-san and Daidouji-san." she and the two walked up the stairs.

Syaoran sighed and looked around, he than gasped, "MEILING!" he hollered out.

"Ughh." Meiling said, the three of them didn't even get to the changing room. "Nani??"

Syaoran hollered up, "They have to change into the uniforms down here!"

"Hoooee!!" Sakura hollered, "Infront of you Shaoran-kun??"

Syaoran blushed at the thought. "Just get down here." Meiling, Sakura, and Tomoyo went down the stairs with Sakura and Tomoyo holding red Chinese outfits with golden golden flowers on them. "Okay, now you may change." Syaoran said.

"Hoooeeee!"

Later on...

Sakura, Tomoyo (now clothed), Syaoran, and Meiling were sitting on the couch. "So, why are we just sitting here?" Tomoyo asked.

"On Chinese New Year," Syaoran explained, "All of the visitors and family are to stay in the living room. They are not to be introduced to a bedroom."

Sakura smiled, "So that's why you didn't let us go change in a different bedroom Shaoran-kun." Syaoran nodded with a smile.

"Shaoran, you are being too tense about all this.." Meiling sighed.

The door opened and Syaoran's sister ran in giggled, "GONG XI FA CAI!!" they yelled happily, they too, were wearing red and gold outfits. They ran over and hugged Sakura and Tomoyo.

"Gong xi fa cai.." Sakura and Tomoyo said, sweatdropping

Yelan walked in, smiling. She bowed at Sakura and Tomoyo, "Gong xi fa cai." she said.

"Gong xi fa cai." they said back, bowing.

Syaoran's sister ran into the kitchen happily. "Oh," Sakura said, turning to Yelan, "Your house is beautiful. I love how you decorated it."

"Thank you." Yelan said, "In Chinese terms, before Chinese New Year, all Chinese people clean their houses and sweep the floors with brooms carrying the dust outside the backdoor. They do so, because, they are cleaning the old year and bringing the new year into their house and family."

Tomoyo put a finger to her chin, "I never knew that."

"That is very neat." Sakura said.

Yelan headed for the kitchen, "Come. We shall have dinner." they all headed in the kitchen.

"Wow." Tomoyo and Sakura dazzled, seeing the table with food on it. There was a whole fish, a chicken (with head and feet and all still on), uncut noodles, and many other food varieties.

"Please, sit." Yelan said. Syaoran, Meiling, and Syaoran's sisters all all had taken their seats. Tomoyo and Sakura sat down. They all goten their plates and startedf= eating.

Yelan smiled at Sakura, who was sitting beside Syaoran, and they were quite close. "So, are we going to have to schedule a wedding soon?" Yelan asked.

"Hoe?" Sakura asked, Syaorna blushed deep red, and Tomoyo giggled.

"Yeah!" Syaoran's sisters said, "A wedding!!"

Feimei smiled, "I'm making the dress!!"

"Oh no you don't." Tomoyo giggled.

Sakura lifted an eyebrow.

A little later...

"Thanks for the food." Sakura said after she was done, "It was delicious."

Yelan smiled, "Your welcome. Just place it by the sink."

"Hai." Sakura walked up to the sink. But she dropped the dish and it smashed on the floor, "Hoooe!" she screamed. Everyone looked over and Yelan, Syaoran, and his sisters, along with Meiling looked tensed.

Syaoran ran over quickly, looked down, and muttered fastly, "Sui sui ping an."

"Sorry.." Sakura blushed.

Yelan sighed, "It's alright, Sakura."

"Eh?" Syaoran looked at his mother. He didn't believe he called Sakura by her name.

Living room.....

"Alright." Yelan said, walking into the family room, holding red envelopes. "Here is all of your Hongbao."

"YATTA!!" Syaoran's sister said and basically attacked their mother for their envelopes. They ripped them open to reveal 100 dollars. "WHOO-HOO!" They shouted happily.

Yelan handed Syaoran and Meiling one, "Thanks Auntie." Meiling said opening the envelope pulling out 100 dollars, "Yeah!
she said happily.

"Oh boy, oh boy." Syaoran said hungrly for the money, he opened the envelope pulled out 100 dollars, "Hey, I have the same as them. Why don't I have more than them??"

Yelan gave Tomoyo and Sakura a red envelope each. "Hoe?" Sakura said, "I don't need this."

"But you are friends of my son, you should get one." Yelan than walked off.

Tomoyo opened her envelope to take out 100 dollars aswell, "Thank you very much." she said politely.

"Hmm.." Sakura wondered and opened the envelope to pull out 105 dollars. "Why did I get five more dollars?"

"Nani??" Meiling said.

Yelan smiled, "I should give a new member of the family a little bit more money."

Sakura blushed deep red.

At night...

"Alright everyone." Yelan said, "We have to go out to watch the parade and get ready for the fireworks."

"Fireworks?" Sakura asked excited.

Yelan nodded, "Yes. On the stroke of midnight we let of firework to get rid of the old year and welcome the new."

"That is fascinating." Tomoyo said as they walked out but left the windows and doors open. Sakura looked back and lifted an eyebrow wondering why they did so.

They all walked out in the street where lots of people stood. They all looked and saw a parade with many people walking and floats and a float was a dragon it went on for awhile. "Shaoran." Sakura tugged on Syaoran's sleeve.

"Yes?" he said to her.

Sakura smiled and hugged him, "Is it okay if we go somewhere more private?"

"Nani??" he blushed deep deep red.

Sakura giggled, "Please?"

"O-O-O-O-O-O-Okay." he stuttered, "I'm be back mother." he said as he and Sakura walked off.

"Where are we going?" Syaoran asked.

Sakura shrugged, "Somewhere."

"You don't even know?" he asked.

Sakura sweatdropped. "Heheh.." It was pretty dark out they hardley even knew where they were. Suddenly, there was a rocketing noise. Syaoran and Sakura looked over to see fireworks burst in the sky. "Midnight already?" Sakura asked.

Syaoran smiled watching the fireworks and than grabbed onto Sakura and hugged her, "Happy New Year, Sakura"

"Happy New Year, Shaoran." she said back hugging onto him. "I love you."

Syaoran shivered a little hearing that, it was awhile since he heard those sweet words, he smiled, "Same here, Sakura."

*Really, you only get money in one dollars when you recieve Hongbao

*Red and Gold are to be worn on Chinese New Year. Red and Gold are the New Year's colors, it represents happiness and good luck and wealth.

*Yes, you are NOT supposed to say any bad things or course words or unlucky words on Chinese New Year's Day.

*You are not supposed to be greeted in somebody's bedroom on that day, so everyone, even the sick are to be dressed and in the living room.

*Oh yes, poetry is a common thing to put up for good fortune on that day. Oranges and fruit are also for good fortune and health. The candy dish means "togetherness". And the flowers are to be around that is good luck and lots of meaning.

*All brooms and dusters are to be put away on that day and scissors and knives are to be put away because it may cut away the good luck.

*The food they ate; they all have meaning for everything they ate. Like the chicken; with it's head and feet all on, it means "completness" all the food have meanings. Uncut noodles represent long life and so forth with food...

*When Sakura broke the dish and Syaoran ran up and said "Sui sui ping an" I don't knwo what that means, but they do that <|^._.^|> Gomen, I really don't know why...

*I made this fic in a day, because Chinese New Year is tomorrow! So sorry, it was rushed.
