CHAPTER 1: LONELY HEART

"Noooooooooooooo" screamed Sakura. She ran and caught Li just as he fell. The blast drained him of all his energy, and he was like a fragile baby in Sakura's arms.
"Why did you risk your life for mine!" Sakura yelled, as streams of tears rushed down her cheeks.
"B-b-b-because-----" Li was too weak to speak. Sakura felt like killing herself.
"How am I supposed to go on without you?!?!" Sakura surprised herself.She had never felt so strongly for anyone-EVER. Li was looking at her with confusion in his eyes.
"Look- I love you" he whispered, "and I will always be by your side, no matter what." Sakura cried more upon hearing this. She hugged Li , almost crushing him, "I love you.......too-----"
Maddison snapped back to reality. It had been three months since that battle, but she remembered it clearly. How could she forget? This was the day her life had changed FOREVER. Eli had gone back to London, talking kero with him. He felt Li could take care of Sakura and took Kero to London. Sakura was sad at first, but now she is getting used to life without him. But Maddison missed him; she needed him. She baked extra goodie for him, forgetting that he left. She missed the little guy a lot. She even missed Eli and Spinny and Ruby. But most of all she missed Sakura. She drifted away from her and closer to Li everyday. Since Li is in her life now, there was no more room for her; except when Sakura needed her advice.....or fashion sense. Now-a-days her mother made many trips, abroad: Long trips. "Who cares about me anyways.." Maddison thought. She wasn't special; She didn't have magic running through her veins. She glanced towards Sakura, who was flirting with Li. Sakura winked at her, but soon returned to Li. "She was close to me" she thought, "Once upon a time----" Maddison wanted to run away screaming; She wanted to cry, let it all out. Why was this happening; What had she done to hurt anyone? "Why can't I live happily ever after!!" a voice screamed in her head, telling her she was alone- and she believed every word of it.
Mr. Tereda enters the class room and the students take their seats-even Sakura. Sakura, amazingly, left Li; She seemed she was never going to stop, the way she was flirting.
"History class is so totally boring...." Maddison said to herself. She had already studied this chapter before; She had so much time on her hands. She heard supressed giggles and looked up just to see Sakura and Li passing notes- probably love notes. It was not like she was jealous of Sakura and her boyfriend; She just wanted to be an important part of someones life, not an extra on the sidelines... Her thoughts were interrupted by the school bell.
"Remember your home-ed projects are due tommorrow." concluded Mr Tereda.
Maddison left the noisy classroom behind and headed for the music room. She wanted to skip choir, but she needed the practise, since her concert was right on the horizon. She was tired.....exhausted. She wished this day would just end- and her life at the same time.
Finally, this miserable day came to an end. Maddison was at home wearing a lavender night gown that accented her body enough to give her an angelic look, but not as much as to give her the image of a slut. She found herself crying softly to herself. She dried her eyes and stepped out onto the balcony, ajoining her bedroom. She looked like a guardian angel in the moon's aura.
Two days to Valentines Day... Like always there would be a huge dance. She wondered if anyone would ask her. She wondered if she even wanted to go. It wouldn't kill her if she stayed home, like a miserable loner. She looked up at the moon; it looked so beautiful, floating across the night sky. The phone rang; She picked up:
Maddison: Konichiwa. This is the Taylor residence.
Mrs. Taylor: Hi Sweetie. How are you?
Maddison: Mom! I am fine. Thank you. Are you coming home soon?
Mrs. Taylor: Sorry honey, but i have bad news. The board requires me to stay here for a few more months.
Maddion (hiding her disappointment): I see. Well have a nice time. Miss you, like always.
Mrs. Taylor: I'll be home as soon as I finish work here. Take care.
Maddison: I will. Bye.
Maddison put the phone away and tried very hard not to cry. As soon as she sat on her bed, the phone rang again. She was sad and exhausted, and ignored the phone hoping it would just go away. But it just didn't.
"Shut Up!!" she screamed at the phone. Why was this happening?
